The appointment of Neil Doncaster as chief executive of the newly formed Scottish Professional (sic) Football League was a forgone conclusion, No Surrender Longmuir was interviewed out of professional courtesy, and the clubs realised that the calibre of external candidates they would attract at the moment would be from the bottom of the corporate pile. Frankly, a heavy hitter would not apply.
Now that Doncaster is freed from his previous preoccupation – trying to parachute a new club into top flight football – he can worry about his key performance indicators, bringing commercial income into the league. If he can’t deliver a good deal, or scams a ‘Homecoming’-type deal, by pulling money already committed by a benefactor, like his pal along the corridor, we’re better off without him.

He meant it and Tim knew it, they are mates and he was at the wind up. he had to retract it, but his tongue was in his cheek when he did.

I am not a scot, but I will always recognise and applaud bravery when I see it!

I have recently had to buy a ‘new’ van for work. When I thought I had a good deal lined up with a private sale I used one of the many on line vehicle reg checking services.
Most impressed with the system. Helps you check against outstanding credit, theft, etc.
Imagine my surprise when I tried to check the zombie coach number they are so pleased about. “Not recognised on our database. ”
Of course there could be an innocent explanation : transfer paperwork not fully processed by DVLA; incomplete database ; issues over registering ; not paid for; only on trial – or just a made up number.
Hardly important in the grand scheme of things but if they feel the need to dupe people over a number plate ……
