Don’t book travel to Edinburgh, lobby for league merger

807

If you are missing your competitive football fix you’ll have devoured the fixture list this morning but it’s still over seven weeks until the first league game of the season, when the league flag will fly before we face Ross County (we will have played a Champions League qualifier five weeks from today).

Thereafter, due to the postponement of a home game to allow for a financially lucrative friendly, Celtic are on the road six times in nine league fixtures, so if our away form is anything like it was for much of last season, it’s likely we will be in the mix, instead of clear leaders, come the end of October.

After an absence of some time, Celtic have a local derby to look forward to.  They meet Partick Thistle at Firhill on 26th October with the return game at Celtic Park set for New Year’s Day.  We are scheduled for two trips to the Capital within a month but don’t go booking your flights for the Hearts game in September, just in case…..

Curious news today that Celtic director and BT chief executive, Ian Livingston, will leave the telecoms company after five years at the top to become Minister for Trade and Investment in the coalition government.  Livingston will serve from the House of Lords.  How about boosting the ailing Scottish football industry by lobbying for a merger with a neighbouring league?

Have you bought a ticket for Firday night’s Lions Roar event?  Join hundreds of Celtic fans and the Lisbon Lions to watch the Lisbon game and for a Q&A afterwards.

    I am 60 this year, and in all that time, I have yet to come across a thicker bunch of supporters than thems.

    That takes some doing imo.

    Time after time, they go after the messenger, they should have gone down on their knees to thank those who told them their club was in real danger, yet all they wanted to do, was to do them, they deserve everything that is coming to them.

    I thank the lord it’s been some time since I have met or spoken to a hun.

  4. I read the Speirs article, common sense from a Scottish Journo, who’d a thunk it.

    I also read the comments, in one was a link which lead to this short but very much to the point statement from The SFA;

    The Scottish FA can confirm that The Rangers Football Club Ltd have today received confirmation that full membership of the Association has been transferred.

    http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_fa_news.cfm?page=3218&newsCategoryID=3&newsID=10287

    The same club, had it been that, would not have needed the transfer of membership would it, simples. I’ll also keep in mind the Memorandum and Articles of Association of Rangers stating the Club and Company are synonymous, I like that one.

    I got a live one on F/B right now, can’t join in the reasoned debate about Jabba, just trotting out the same club party line, I feel kinda cruel picking him off so easy, his whataboutery is no even that clever, he resorts to the usual Paedo comments after a few exchanges, this my friend is what they are reduced to, Zombies trawling the land armed only with cheap insults and denial, in the respect they are defeated now the SFA that’s a whole other ball game!!!
