Don’t limp home, omni-shamble contagion

696

There’s always a bit of trepidation before Celtic play a meaningless game, like they will do in Turkey tomorrow, the propensity to pick up injuries feels higher, although this is possibly not borne out by statistics.

Before Sunday the team look like they needed a break but no injuries, please.

It’s been a long time since I’ve heard allegations that some or other council are controlled by, and for the benefit of, an ethnic or religious minority.  This is an old-time prejudice, up there along with allegations of criminality or the personal hygiene habits of the minority.  But like Corporation buses, they come in groups.

Anyone can report Celtic for whatever they like, and believe me, many do.  Which is a great pity, as there are real targets worthy of attention elsewhere…..  For years, while others were buying football bling, Celtic were acquiring land, all appropriately, as is their borrowing.  More importantly, they have been able to establish all of this without question. Confirmed.

Just because one club was an omni-shambles doesn’t mean any others are.  Enjoy the laugh.

See this is where the club / company tripe falls apart.

This land deal stuff wasn’t with Celtic FC it was with the company which runs the football club. And the football club and holding company are two separate things aren’t they?

Won’t hear the msm making this distinction with Celtic.

Love the fact that the zombies are foaming at the thought of Lizzie opening the games in such a hotbed of Irish Republicanism.

However, given that the Commonwealth is is a manifestation of Britain’s imperialism should we really be supporting these games at all?!

  7. As ScotsPatsFan posted above just because the EU have received a complaint and are duty bound to at least consider the facts of the case does not necessarily means a full investigation is warranted.

What’s the betting there are no sensationalist tweets the day the EU decide that Celtic have done absolutely nothing wrong.

The Commonwealth is indeed the successor to the Empire but we are among the main beneficiaries of Empire. I’m not condoning it, simply stating a truth.

Glasgow was built on the profits of slavery, drug dealing and other assorted horrible businesses. We can’t use our 21st century hindsight and morality to condemn imperialism when we are content to live on the proceeds.

And we do boast about winning the Empire Exhibition Cup.

  23. tomtheleedstim on

Bada Bing – I wouldn’t have a problem with that to be honest. People will still call it CP or Parkhead. I’m constantly surprised by the number of companies willing to shed out loads of money to have a stadium “renamed” after them.

Of course it would depend on the company!

    1) If you’re going to pick a fight, pick one you can win.

    2) Before you start a fight though, walk a mile in the other guys shoes. This way, you’ll be a mile away. And you’ll have his shoes.

I realise that you are being somewhat facetious but nevertheless lighten up a touch. If Celtic Park was ignored for the Commonwealth Games we would all be indignant with rage with conspiracy theory’s abounding.

To the couple of guys you know who’re absolutely disgusted that Celtic are having any part in these games because of what they perceive it to represent; I would ask them if they want to change our honours list e.g.

Coronation Cup 1953. For obvious reasons.

Victory in Europe Cup 1945. Manifestation of Britain’s imperialism.

Empire Exhibition Cup 1938. Manifestation of Britain’s imperialism.

    Where do we stop ?

Drybrough Cup 1974. It promotes alcohol.

St Mungo Cup 1951. Not politically correct for some ethnic minorities.

Alfredo Di Stefanio trophy 1967. Promoting Franco’s Spain.

Wembley Cup. Held in the capital city of Britain’s imperialism.

    etc., etc., etc.

This should be treated tongue in cheek, however there is a serious underlying theme.

Celtic park will be promoted all round the world and this can only enhance our brand and ambition.

We should and will take our rightful place as Scotland’s premier club with finest Stadia.

We are an integral part of the East End regeneration process and should be seen as such.

    HH, always in Celtic.
