Double-header danger

375

Consecutive games against the same team are dangerous, even when you win the first convincingly.  We only need to think back to the 7-0 drubbing we dished out to St Mirren in 2009.  The Paisley team were so far outclassed they should not have been on the same field as Celtic that day, but a week later they knocked us out of the Scottish Cup.

Hibs were awful in defence on Wednesday and should have done better with the chances they had going forward, but they will have a point to prove this afternoon and can be relied on to fight “tooth and nail” to puncture Celtic’s title credentials.

If James Forrest is able to float into a central position Celtic should have enough, but they don’t have many game-winners like Forrest.

Wouldn’t want to wish serious injury on anyone, just a long enough injury to make them unsellable in January.

Red and yellow card stats are easily available on the SPL website under their statistics section but they do not give fouls awarded for comparison.

I think Mort might be keeping track of these or know where you can source them.

I’ll make an exception for a guy who gave the vicky to the Celtic support but got no flack

Pity that Sone Aluko is no longer at the Dons.

He always caused the Huns problems.

  5. Rubbish game. Huns look very ordinary without Naismith.

But Aberdeen are suicidal in possession. I doubt any more than 30% of their passes find an Aberdeen player…

How naiskill never got booked ah’ll never know (only spl refereeing)? I might not wish him serious injury but given that his tackle could have caused serious injury to his opponent I will not sympathise with him. He will be a big miss for them. Given the off field problems that could well be his last game for them.

Naismith should definitely have seen a card – Collum bottled it because he saw Naismith was also injured and he was right in front of the Hun hordes.

  8. Naismith tackle on the Aberdeen lad was criminal (just seen in slow motion) straight red card.

I f Collum had red carded him, Naismith would have not suffered the injury he did 2 minutes later…

  10. Horrible over the top leg breaker by naismith, he then crumples like an accordian 5 mins later!! Oh KARMA!!
