  1. !!BADA BING!! on 7TH NOVEMBER 2021 5:33 PM

He’s not our player that is true but we have an option to buy included in the loan. In other words, if we want him he’s ours for the fee agreed – much like what happened with Hendry.

    Bada

We are talking about our PLC here. Why would they fork out for him in the New year would they can wait until loan is finished.

Money in bank for them gains interest ‘every little counts’😱

  3. The £6.5m agreed between the two clubs is one thing. The worry is though, if between now and the end of the season, if a Liverpool or such like made it known after seeing his displays that they are interested, Jota himself could kybosh said deal leaving the door open for other clubs to buy at inflated millions?

  4. nothing says dignified rememberance like

putting a giant poppy on the grill of your car.

having a paratrooper regimental flag up a pole in your garden

knitting a soldier cosy to put on her majestys post box (the one here looks like postman pat)

absailling off the top of a football stand

    singing sectarian songs

    not paying your taxes

raising money for erskine, then not handing it all in …….

  5. The agreement has to be legally binding on all parties. All signing up to the same thing, (the transfer will take place on an exact day at an agreed price)

I doubt they will be able to enact it earlier, and indeed no other parties will be able to take the bhoy.

so all stop fretting and making things up.

  6. “If he feels that this is the place for his future we’d be more than happy to keep him here.

…..but if a player decides not to go……

the player will have had to agree to the terms of the loan, including the “buy for x amount clause”.

it is a condition of the loan.

as others have said, no different to the jack hendry situation, or odsonne when he came to us.

An option confers the right, but not the obligation to buy something at a pre-determined price by a pre-determined date.

I’m assuming ‘the option’ to buy Jota is legally binding i.e Celtic have agreed to pay the selling club a pre-determined price by a pre-deterred date if they chose to take up the option?

He looks a great player and someone who ticks the boxes in terms of making a contribution for a few years with sell on value.

But why ‘pay the money tomorrow’???

Say he breaks his leg in the next game? Gets a career ending injury in the hurly burly, refs don’t care environment of the SPFL?

So long as the option is legally binding, Celtic should wait ‘til the last minute before exerting it.

Please don’t be hard of thinking 👍

    I apologise for being a thicko…..

I just thought that if the player said “I don’t want to sign….”

  10. 11/11 is meant to be a day of remembrance for world war 1 and 2 war vets, but it now covers all wars and it’s been hijacked by the politicians to create patriotism above rational thinking. We are told politicians has no place in football apart from the yearly 11/11 stuff. Make noise at your peril as the media will crucify you, wear your poppy as well, ffs.

Spare me, no one should feel obligated to engage in a minute silence or be taken to task for not observing it. I am more concerned and offended by the poppy brigade plastering poppy’s on car/ van bumpers, mansize poppy amascuats etc. Its meant to be one day of reflection on the horrors of war not some kind of military exhibition for the month of november.

The truth is that the poppy has become political and has found its way into football grounds and for many people at football, just as in life, they will have very different views. i can be silent but I can’t ask others to do that, thats not my personal choice, celtics choice or footballs choice.

Your comment is pure common sense – there are so many who can’t resist a thoughtless ‘knee-jerk’ and will use anything, however tenuous, to have a go, or, a shout, at the club. Like the “sign him now” chanters they think nothing through……they can’t. They actually think that they, or, their ilk, could run the club – God help us!

  12. Celtic were most Excellent Today.

Coming back from an away Win in Europe and going to Dens you cannae be sure of getting the result you want.

Anthony Ralston could be a Super Middleweight boxer with his physique – Charlie Adam bouncing aff him was Kwality. Another outstanding performance by Tone.

Nir Bitton was very classy in the defensive mid role, an impressive display. We are gonnae need the squad to get stronger, hopefully with Quality additions in January.

Ange – Thanks, yer the perfect fit for Celtic of Glasgow.

  13. 31003 on 7th November 2021 6:57 pm

Wonder why Ange says “IF the player wants to….

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It is quite simple, Ange only wants players at Celtic who WANT to be at Celtic. This is a total non story.

The Bhoy is playing very well and will be at Celtic next Season, I have no doubt about that.

We sang songs from the heart before the Green brigade were given a place at Celtic park and will do so again when we are rid of them.

Your comments show total disregard for the vast majority of Celtic supporters.

Any comments on the GB songbook?

Not at home games, not for many seasons before the GB appeared. Away games were different, but people like you moaned about the choice of songs that were sung.

The vast majority of Celtic fans sit silent. They’re not forced to sit silence. Its their choice. It’s what they prefer.

I have no particular problem with the GB songbook. It’s a hundred times better than the stony silence you and your ilk would provide.

  16. Ernie Lynch

Curious if you have been to Celtic Park much over the past few years ?

Or indeed if you did ever go to Celtic Park say in the season we stopped the old Rangers attempt at 10, or the centenary season, or even in the MON treble season, or the season we beat Man United and won the league under Strachan. I recall some great atmospheres back then …… all before your beloved shower of attention seekers and pretend political agitators.

Was about to comment on EL’s but tea beyond. I remember the first day the GB appeared at CP, they were ticket sales at the back of 119.

Now unless I’m losing my memory I seem to recall singing Celtic songs for the previous 40 odd years

  19. onenightinlisbon on

I have been a supporter for over 40 years and sang my fair share of what would be called “political songs’ over the years. The time for these songs to be sung at Celtic park has passed. I am not for one minute suggesting that we should forget about our roots and heritage but we must move on and the IRA songbook must be laid to rest.

  20. Park the Bus

the “Sleekit Separatist Party” who’s front bench MPs in Westminster claim up to £250k each in expenses (socialists my arse), and who want to put a border across a small island and set minority community Celtic supporters up as sitting ducks when the pissed off Ulster Scots exodus begins in earnest, from the dark north of Ireland, once Irish reunification takes place and the descendants if Irish immigrants/refugee’s in 1840’s, will become the new minority of the new dark north of Scotland.

All for the Celtic songs. They don’t seem to know many….

  22. I love the GB,but their repertoire of songs from the 70s,is old hat, with the odd exception. There was a need for it then, not now.Hard to criticize the scum when we are not a great deal better. The GB far too clever and inventive as we have seen and heard so many times.

That’s what annoys me the most. They seem to have got lazy.
