I’d far rather be in our position than that of Aberdeen.
Thanks to the goal difference situation they need to win all six of their remaining games while hoping that we drop a minimum of 6 points ie lose 2 games from 6 or draw 3 games from 6.
If we were to do that, and Aberdeen were somehow able to win all their games including the one against us, then frankly I’d say we simply don’t deserve to win the league and would have lost it to a more worthy team.
But I can’t see that happening though I wouldn’t be surprised if the league is still in the balance on the last day of the season.
If that turns out to be the case I just hope that the “SPFL fixture computer” doesn’t send us to tynecastle on the last day with Craig Thomson in charge of the game.
Unfortunately I can’t recall a season were Celtic had so many 0-0 draws or where we could only beat 3rd placed hearts, mid-table Dundee and 11th placed Kilmarnock in 3 out of 9 league matches.
There are changes needed in the dugout, on the park, in the boardroom and in the scouting dept. ciftci, cole and kazim-Richards would be a brutal enough charge sheet for any scouts to pick up throughout their career, in the space of a single season is just woeful.
Add these guys to the inexplicable signings of guys quickly jettisoned such as Tonev, bangura, balde, Wakaso, Berget and Blackett in recent years then you are left wondering what kind of mind altering drugs our scouts and player recruitment decision makers are on.
But let’s put that aside until this season comes to an end.
We have a league to win.
Do that, then clear the decks.
But 5 in a row or no, this is a season I’ll be glad to see the back of. The football in the main has been turgid, the jersey has shrunk to accommodate some truly limited footballers in the likes of cole, ckr and Blackett, and our European exploits were very poor indeed.
Is the best that we can hope to achieve on our budget? I think not, but let’s get the semifinal and league won, then have that debate.
Colin Kazim Richards……….. What is the point, surely to god there must be a young hungry striker in the development squad better than this lump of wood.

Hearts sold their big lump of a striker in January to a Chinese outfit . Then pulled in another big lump for next to nowt.
While he doesn’t come close to being a class striker he causes defenses plenty of problems and probably scores as many as ckr cole and cifti combined .
Scouting for strikers is not John parks strength ;)

Getting up for work last night,I saw a 221pm reply to a post I’d made earlier about Res 12.
It misrepresented what I had said to such a degree that I thought it must have been written by Fred Quimby or Alfie Noakes. Imagine my surprise to find it was written by Mr Pastry!
It suggested that my post encouraged the dreaded cliquism and divisiveness,quite a mix,which itself suggests that he didn’t read it.
Mr Pastry,FYI it was a call for a united front behind Res 12.
As for the rest of your attack-which was of a purely personal nature-I’ll leave that alone.
It has been suggested that you are a former Labour politician-so many are,sadly!-but following that savaging,I think you’re more like Geoffrey Howe.

Aberdeen have won 2 of the 3 matches with us this season so it’s not impossible to contemplate them beating us at Celtic park.
But I can’t see them winning all 6 of their remaining matches plus Celtic dropping a minimum of 6 points in the same period.
But some backsides will still need booted all the way down kerrydale st at the end of this season. Through our own complacency we have made it far too close for comfort.

I see our resident Jeremiah is flogging the dead horse that is that failure, Mark McGhee. Away and bile yer heid. All of us need to get behind our manager and team for the rest of the season.
It appalls me that as soon as we suffer the slightest set back, the prophets of doom are out in force to stick the knife in.
By the way, don’t think for a moment that I take the likes of last night too easily. Fitful would be an apt description of my sleep last night. (And Celtic have induced a lot of such nights over many many years.)

Managed to watch the game again….shooting practice from the edge of the box required, plenty of chances none taken.
Aberdeen will have to have a go at Hearts not their normal game so should be interesting.
Motherwell will be difficult on Saturday however, happy to be 5 points clear at this time with 18 to play for.

Never saw the game tonight but not really suprised at the result. Dundee have drawn at least 15 games out of 32 played so they are set up not to lose. Usuall doom merchants on so skip a lot of the posts, still believe we will finish league with points in hand.

I won’t comment on the match as I didn’t see it. But I think it’s fair to see that successive 0-0 draws with Dundee is short of requirements.
Not that long ago,Griff was banging them in,and he was ably assisted by every other area in the team-apart from the forwards. Now,few and far between.
We really have to get back into the habit of scoring goals. Though I have to say our last four have been beauties,I’d have settled for the scrappiest of own goal last night if it gave us three points.

On the day after Bayern and Barca gain narrow CL victories and on the day before The Masters, the BBC`s MAIN sports` story is that `Rangers have been promoted to the top division in Scotland. They even used the word `journey` to describe their last (and only ) four seasons.

I think that Big Nan’s opinion carried a lot of weight as well.
Anyway….I think that the Celtic hierarchy should be a ‘more’ immediate target before the SFA.
Why didn’t the requizitioners, put a gun at the hierarchies head and ‘make’ them deal with it ?

Your missing the point , it’s almost cathartic for these posters . They know who’s reffng a game weeks in advance , you can imagine them salivating at the thought of how wronged we are going to be at the hands of the cabal ., its their..i told you so moment ,unfortunately the big hitters on here are immune to the feelings of us (wee)ordinary supporters who go each week .

Listening to some of the reports this morning, one has to conclude:
Orwell was right.
Ronny Dire again I’m afraid. We have an insipid team in the image of our insipid, PE teacher manager. Like watching paint dry at times. I also remain completely mystified about our signing of CKR. This is a guy who averages 1 goal every 7.6 games over the course of his career before we sign him. Entirely predictably he’s scored precisely zilch in 7 games since joining us, but worse, never looks remotely capable of scoring. WTF is going on with our signing policy?
Need a change in the summer to bring the thunder back. But having watched Ronny’s Sky interview there, he’s clearly expecting to be around again next season. Oh, and it’s a positive that the Huns will be in the league he says (albeit via a leading question). Talk about being in tune with your fans.
