Dunfermline statement on Rangers

1133

This evening’s announcement by Dunfermline Athletic that they no longer expect to receive timely receipt of the £80,000 ticket money Rangers FC PLC (in administration) owe them will heighten concerns at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who have a stock at tickets with Rangers right now, money for which will be received by the administrators in advance of their game later this month.

The administrators have yet to decide whether to retain high-earning players or make more funds available for existing creditors, and future creditors, like Inverness.  As ticket sales for the Inverness game are on-going, the administrators will need to be aware of their legal position before retaining a premium squad.

One final push (this week) for the Vanessa Riddle Appeal. We have a Celtic top signed by the first team squad available to auction on eBay. You can bid on the auction and help send Vanessa for the treatment she needs by clicking here. Thanks to Penfold for the donation and to Taggsybhoy for organising (yet again).

Anybody know ‘Chris’ who was on Snyde tonight?

I thought he played a stormer with his wind ups..

    1. ‘I personally want Rangers to survive so we can have years of beating their weakened team’

    2. ‘Do you think Celtic could buy McGreggor on the cheap from the Administrators?’

    3. What difference does it make if they survive – they will field such a weakened team they will never win anything and will lose their fans anyway’

to the untrained ear – he sounded plausible…brilliant stuff!

Reading the history, Queens Park were the “chosen” club, but wouldn’t go professional. Rangers were a middle of the road team(2 leagues and 3 cups, I think?) until the “establishment” gave their blessing and the signing policy was adopted. This was around 1920.

The rest is bigotry, sorry fingers again, history;-)

  3. Funny thing is I am in a position to screen a variety of people in Aberdeen for their opinions, and to my surprise after asking the Q. on independence there have not been too many comfortable with the idea of independence, however romantic it may seem.

After Salmonds rally to save rangers, a club that stands for all that is morally wrong in society, (I don’t say that lightly, it has been clearly evident especially over the recent years past) is a gross misjudgement and may serve to alienate any potential voters from fulfilling his dream.

Who wants an independant Scotland that has agendas that go against moral laws and justice- not me.

Politicians are so scheming they possibly see siding with the tax dodgers as a vote winner..

Shocking.. Not one person in the public save for our QC has had the gonads to tell it as it is!

Today was about damage limitation for the dodgers. I hope HMRC are up for our money..

HMRC £60m (conservative estimate) would pay for

6 Primary Schools or 4 Community Hospitals

  14. How can whyte trouser 9 mill of PAYE and not get investigated?? Big feckin pockets no doubt. He’s stole the f*ckin money ffs!!!

Missed Kelly what did he say?’

From what little I caught he wasn’t impressive.

Only George Galloway now left in the arsenal.

For all that Vlad is supposed to be mad, nothing could be further from the truth.

He is a smart cookie, he is playing the game, taxes paid at the last second, take note hun, he is waiting to see what the powers do.

  18. Newsnight was rubbish, didn’t watch the stv Hun gathering.

All this talk matters not, what matters is the Huns pay what they are due to pay. That Celtic take care of ourselves firstly and then do what is best for the integrity of our game moving forward.

I have confidence in our board fighting this all the way, they are up against it as we have seen today.

I am aware of several things happening which will ensure we do all we can for the good of the game. Our board are doing us proud :-) a happy smiley not a joking one.

Kelly’s performances throughout the ‘Offensive Bill’ were eloquent, cohesive and convincing. He made interviewers and other panelists appear foolish and ill informed.

I think that’s why he’s not in evidence now, they’re afraid of what he’ll have to say.

  20. In August 1991, Steven moved for a massive fee of £5.5 million (the joint-highest fee involving a British player at the time, shared with David Platt of Aston Villa, who had been transferred to Italian club Bari for the same amount in July 1991) to Olympique Marseille where he stayed for one season, winning the French league title.

However, his future in the South of France had looked uncertain within months of his arrival. In December 1991, it was reported that the financially troubled club were prepared to sell Steven back to Rangers in order to cut their heavy losses.[2]However, he stayed with the club until the end of the season. Despite reports on 22 July 1992 that Steven had agreed to sign for English league champions Leeds United,[3]he returned to Rangers on 26 July for a fee of £2.2million.[4]

The game begins now. Need to keep the pressure on them, just as we did with Dallas et al.

I’m not sure he has the credibility. It would still be worthwhile to hear his opinions though.
