The banner, which Uefa are trying to ignore, but will surely be shamed into doing something about, was offensive and, in most jurisdictions, a criminal offense.
When the police collaborate it’s hard not to verge into the realms of branding a society “dysfunctional”. Amsterdam is wealthy, affluent, liberal but intolerant, badly policed and violent. The visit of Celtic fans passed with less incident (and arrest of visitors) than most visiting fans endured in recent seasons.

I would be looking to give Fisher, Rogic, Biton, McGeough and Balde a run.
As I have said before, I think the best place to give youngsters a run is in away from home league games, where atmosphere and opposition are more intimidating.

The sickening sight of half a dozen plain clothed policemen assaulting a young Celtic fan should not be forgotten nor let go unaccounted for.
The guy is wearing a strip so is obviously not a casual – what he may have done before hand could not possibly justify such a vicious and cowardly assault

His claim seems to be that the Scots (Rangers supporters) built the British Empire which accounts for their world-wide appeal whilst he cannot account for the Celtic supporter, and Scottish Internationalist, Alan Brazils ‘side of the fence’ i.e. the Irish.
