I thought it was the emerging influence of Nir Biton as a central midfield influence who transformed Celtic against Hearts on Sunday; he looked that good. If anything, Celtic were better in his absence last night, more fluid, more incisive, against a better team.
It’s all about shape. The correct shape gives players time on the ball when they need it, allows them to look industrious, not static, and makes them difficult to counteract. The only two questions are: can we maintain it, and when was the last time a Celtic team controlled the ball like this?
Forget about trying to maintain this in Barcelona, that’s far too risky, but if we can play like this at Tynecastle and Fir Park we can do so anywhere else in Scotland. Don’t think we’ve played like this since the Centenary Season.
It’s difficult to interpret the vandalism at Fir Park last night. As Celtic fans we don’t have a point of reference for this stuff. “Had enough. Won’t be back at another away game”, was the verdict of a friend I spoke to, who has probably missed no more than 40 domestic away games in the last 40 years. The proportion of Celtic fans who would never vandalise seats is well above 99%, but there’s a new and unwelcome phenomenon in British football and Celtic have the best views in the country.
Getting back to more familiar ground, The Kano Foundation asked me to pass on this message:
“The Kano Foundation World Cup 2014 Predictor
Friends,
2013 has been a world class year for The Kano Foundation. We’ve had our first ever bucket collection, held our 3rd annual dance, welcomed groups from across Scotland, England and Ireland, and last but by no means least we will welcome our 2000th child to Celtic Park. All this would not be possible without your unwavering support.
As we move towards the new year, The Kano Foundation are always keen to continue our work while bringing you the fans new and exciting ways to support us. The fabulous prizes on offer at our Golf Day in September are just one example.
To keep up this form, we are delighted to announce a very special competition ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
We will be running a predictor competition unlike many others. At first reading our two part predictor is very similar to others where you enter the scores and winners for the 72 games.
However, we are also offering an unbelievable bonus prize fund of £10,000 for anyone who can correctly predict the outcome of all 48 group games . Yes, that’s correct – £10,000 to be shared amongst all entrants who can correctly predict the general outcome (winner or draw) for the all the group games.
In order to run both competitions we are asking entrants to make a one-off donation of £10. From the funds raised 50% will go as a donation to TKF with the remaining 50% available for prizes.
With just 100 entrants, not only can we raise a £500 prize fund for the predictor, we can also take over 200 kids to a game at Celtic Park. A tidy reward for a just few minutes brain effort!
All you need to do to enter is register you interest by email at:
wcpredictor@thekanofoundation.com Please include TKFWCPred as the email/paypal subject and tell us your user/team name so we can verify your entry. If you’ve not got enough room, enter as much detail as you can and tell us what you’ve done so we help.
Then make your payment into The Kano Foundation bank account (30-13-01 00989961 through Paypal or by sms by texting KANO11 £10 to 70070 – remember to include your name/email address.
Visit our predictor webpage (coming soon) to find more details and follow your progress
Once again, we hope we can rely on your support to make this predictor a success for us in terms of fundraising and for potentially making one of you £10,000 richer!
Thank You
The Kano Foundation”
Congratulations to the Celtic fans who run and support The Kano Foundation, our community is rightly proud of the. Register your interest by emailing: wcpredictor@thekanofoundation.com.
Less than one day to bid on bid on the charity auction for lunch at Cinc Sentis in Barcelona. Another bounty from the excellent reputation Celtic fans have. If you’re going out next week, treat yourself………

I do not claim to have more knowledge of the membership of the GB.
I will bow to your superior knowledge. What would the breakdown of the GB by student, trade union, employed unemployed and age???
BSR…
unless you are blessed with the aforementioned foresight this one might run til 1888.
Johnny ola on strictly?
Hyman Roth to replace him?
Tonydonnelly67
Sorry mate but I have to stick in my tuppence worth. I may be the only one on here who knows both you and Setting Free the bears. It read the tit for tat earlier, well it was more of you. SFTB is every bit the tim you are, I can vouch for this. He might have a different viewpoint from you but certainly comes at it from a different angle, and with a different writing style. I dont think your grasping the context of what SFTB is saying, but knowing you,I always sense tongue in cheek and it makes for a funny read. I get the impression you think SFTB would be better off belonging to Whitecraigs than Balantay, but as you well know, Castlemilk is made up of all sorts. Some of the best people I’ve ever known are from up there, and you know them too, just as there are the lowlifes. You and SFTB fall into the former category and although at opposite ends of the CQN spectrum, you are both equally massive Tims. I should know. Apologies for the big suck….seconds out!

tonydonnelly67,
Having read some of your previous posts re.the GB I got the impression you wanted to know who their leader(s) were in order for you to make contact with them. Not sure whether I was right or wrong in that assessment so asked you in my earlier post if that was the case and offered a mechanism which may have facilitated you contacting them.
Nothing more,nothing less
In response to my post you included the following :-
1.”don’t give me the old awe it goes into making banners and all that crap”
2.”so please spare me the they are good for Celtic crap”
3.”don’t kid yourself here”
I am finding it difficult to understand why you have chosen to respond in such a fashion.
Perhaps you can help me to understand why you did so.
Nothing from my post refers in any way to being either pro or anti GB
As far as I am aware,we have never met or communicated with each other before so why the rant?
Shugiebhoy67
Have been a trade union man all my life, as was my father, and my Grandfather, having been arrested and jailed, blacklisted from all engineering factory’s in Canada for life, I to struggled and put my daughter through Uni. She is now a school teacher and has done very well and makes me proud of her, that’s neither here nor there, as a father that was my job I understood that, but my post was that politics has no place at Celtic Park, AND I know for a fact that politics and Uni. Guys are well in with the GB, in time they will out themselves, give them enough rope, I posted my opinion, so do not take it personnel, good luck to you and your family, HH.
City of Joy by Dominique Lapierre; fantastic, engrossing read and yet, what a feeble attempt at doing it justice in a movie……… Sad……..

Hyman Roth ?
Palermo Mafia trial of a few years back , featured an old guy telling the court he was nothing but a small time investor living on a pension .
One of the judges quipped ——- Yes, as was Hyman Roth.

To be quite blunt . What business is it of yours how much money the GB make of its merchandising.
Why should they answer to you.
Are you someone of distinguishable importance.
Will you ask the same question of Rhebel Rhebel or the myriad of sites selling Celtic related goods.
You sound to me like somebody with an already made up guilty verdict.

td67,
“don’t flatter yourself”
“you seem the sensitive type”
You don’t appear to be able to help yourself with the snidey remarks tony.(even if you follow them up with wee, insincere sounding get out apologies)
From the seemingly endless tirade about the GB from you and your approach to other posters on here you come across to myself and apparently a number of others as both abusive and obsessive in equal measure.
I’m sure you will put this down as you just being a straight talking guy.
I doubt many others share that view
Oh to see ourselves as others see us

A false friend !.
Restful Rasperry .
Ole Rocco was in the business of helping plague victims.
I’m confused now.
I had just about come to terms with the fact that the GB are some sort of sinister left wing infiltrators intent on taking over the Celtic support for their own nefarious purposes.
Now it seem they’re rampant capitalist exploiters and profiteers whose sole purpose is to cynically exploit the impressionable and gullible among the support by selling them merchandise.
67 heaven
I also lived in Scarrell. For about 3 years.
67heaven,
Did you go to Maggie’s?
tonydonnelly67
Peace be upon you brother.
See if there are no politics allowed, can we get back to singing ‘Dirty orange …….’ ‘GBTP’, ‘Rather be a darky………..’. ‘Say hello to the provos’, ‘He’s gay, he’s bent……’ etc, etc, all the good old classics before the pesky uni mob took hold.
All the good old songs that are considered a no-no by the GB, who hounded anyone singing them? Politics shmolitics, bring back the good old days eh Tony?
