Edinburgh again, Ticket Office Blues

635

While Celtic are in the middle of a month with six home games, we face Hearts on Sunday on their eighth consecutive home game and tenth game on the trot in Edinburgh. Runs of games like this do you no favours in the long run, but they provide pockets or benefit.

Training schedules for Hearts have been perfect during this period, without needing to factor in a trip to Dingwall, for example. Game plans will have been consistent and clear. There will be modifications for the visit of the champions, but we will face a team who are as ready as they could be for the challenge.

This letter from the Ticket Office:

Like many of you, I have several season tickets in my wallet right now. They are not always used by the named person (Martin42 has been unable to use his ticket since August (!) due to injury).

I have not been in touch with the club, so can only wonder what “the Celtic Ticket Office is not obliged to provide information about the named Season Ticket Holder to any third party” could be about. It is an obscure reference, as is “in all cases relating to Season Tickets photo ID is required”.

Letters like this are never produced purely to irritate, there will be an issue to be addressed. It will not be a mean-spirited attempt to stop you taking a friend to the occasional game – which we all do.

But if the issue is serious enough to write to all season ticket holders: explain, explain, explain.  It’s not just the perma-rage-against-the-man-types (you don’t know who you are, so don’t bother wondering) who are troubled by this, some will be reluctant in future to invite a friend along to Celtic Park on a spare ticket.

Lessons learned, I’m sure.

  1. BT.

Thanks for remembering Kano. Gets me thinking of those days.

    MIT.

    God bless Derry.

  2. Hello again, was not aware of the Kano birthdays, however his story was one of the reasons that I supported this blog and have in a small way and an annual basis supported the Kano foundation.

Every year my wife and I decided to send to good causes the cost of our Xmas cardsand postage . After several years, the people we know now no longer look for a card in the post. They know we have contributed elsewhere and they kind of get that.

The Kano Foundation and in the last couple of years the Social Bite, support the homeless fund , are good causes ( just an opinion)

I truly wish that we did not feel the need to talk about this, however if one person donated £5…the impact would be two fold at least.

Enjoy your weekend everyone, we are truly blessed to be part of a place that tries to help. HH

  3. Hi ghuys

A number of years ago my bhoy introduced me to a website “that’s all about Celtic” and you will get to know what is really happening with regards Scottish football. Not being quite computer literate he guided me through the ins and outs of nom de plumes etc. Many of you know him through the bike run to Belfast and Danny I remember well one time you defended him on here for not being a hun. Thanks for that.

Any way I digress. Apart from Fleagles competition I have never considered myself a contributor but a regular lurker. However it is my somewhat limited opinion this site is quickly becoming a message board for ghuys, by the way with the best intentions, for meeting up for a pint or saying hello to friends or relatives.

I apologise if it is just me but this site is the go to site for the SMSM and should be leading the way in the fight for Res 12 etc.

Got to say Paul really disappointed in the coverage regarding the Judicial Review. Seems to me they have got away with it and we are doing nothing.

    Appreciate any feedback.

  4. Mr Z- with the talk of Kano tonight it reminded me of your post about coming to see Celtic and being met by Oldtim and Pablo.

Do you still have it or can you re-tell.

    Magic it was.

  5. The season ticket letter.

Ive only had a card for the last 2 seasons.

    First since Seville season.

Counted it up 8 games last season and 5 so far this season I have passed the ticket on. Including zombies game and Bayern . no charge. To nephews and even the guy I sit next to. Work mostly stops me attending.

Why . because people , Celtic supporter s gave me theirs in difficult years and I am grateful so it’s payback times.

The value of the ticket is ownership. Not me attending. I must have the choice to use it as I see fit.

    Other wise no point .

  6. 7000 kids through the gates for matchday experience in Paradise is a fantastic achievement and in keeping with the ethos of our wonderful club.

Well done to alll concerned, I’ve met up with the Keno foundation volunteers at a few matches and let nobody be in any doubt that they put on a lot of work behind the scenes to make this achievement possible a fantastic group of people carrying on Brother Walfrred’s legacy in the 21st century.

Kano was the start of CQN fund raising and thanks to Kitalba and Ramie we along with the other sites and clubs managed to get Martin home

I’m sitting here with a glass thinking about CQN of old and hoping we continue without forgetting our roots

    God bless

I will raise a glass with you.

Met your Dad during the week pre-game on “Black Ice and Flipping Freezing” Wednesday. Caityrollercoaster has painted a picture of your Dad from the iconic pic in 65 cup final for my birthday, so I was telling him about it.

So, next home getting him to sign it :-)

Well said . How long do we have to wait for a whitewash on RES12

    =========

It looks like after New Year. An indication of how difficult a whitewash is proving to produce.

Would love to. Not sure you good keep up. Seen off a few bhoys “in the coffin” Blantur in the dim and distant past. Hh

The Big O,what a voice. I must have been in my 20s before I listened to him much, but I’ve made up for lost time since!

What a shame that he died just as he was getting back to the top.

Shared a beer with you a few years back. Hearts/Hibs cup final. You persuaded me to renew St that year. Unfortunately not now although I have sneaked back occasionally.

  14. Heading home on mad Friday after a few sherbits. Choo Choo back to the stick. Night started off well with a wee fall 2 mins after leaving house when a carpet of ice slid out from under me and rose to skeleton me on the back of the nut.

Total sense knocked into me although there was a moment where I’m sure I saw one big massive star meaning so much more than a few thousand or 5.

Anyway hail hail to all fellow Tim’s. and a Merry Christmas to one and all.
