Edinburgh again, Ticket Office Blues

635

While Celtic are in the middle of a month with six home games, we face Hearts on Sunday on their eighth consecutive home game and tenth game on the trot in Edinburgh. Runs of games like this do you no favours in the long run, but they provide pockets or benefit.

Training schedules for Hearts have been perfect during this period, without needing to factor in a trip to Dingwall, for example. Game plans will have been consistent and clear. There will be modifications for the visit of the champions, but we will face a team who are as ready as they could be for the challenge.

This letter from the Ticket Office:

Like many of you, I have several season tickets in my wallet right now. They are not always used by the named person (Martin42 has been unable to use his ticket since August (!) due to injury).

I have not been in touch with the club, so can only wonder what “the Celtic Ticket Office is not obliged to provide information about the named Season Ticket Holder to any third party” could be about. It is an obscure reference, as is “in all cases relating to Season Tickets photo ID is required”.

Letters like this are never produced purely to irritate, there will be an issue to be addressed. It will not be a mean-spirited attempt to stop you taking a friend to the occasional game – which we all do.

But if the issue is serious enough to write to all season ticket holders: explain, explain, explain.  It’s not just the perma-rage-against-the-man-types (you don’t know who you are, so don’t bother wondering) who are troubled by this, some will be reluctant in future to invite a friend along to Celtic Park on a spare ticket.

Lessons learned, I’m sure.

  1. If it is because of the security angle re-the letters being sent out , could it be anything to do with the guy who gained entry to the co-orporate lounge and stabbed someone in the face at one of the matches recently ??

Eurochamps67 great news , hopefully get you a beer at Aberdour next year big yin .

Remember I am counting all non penalty goals. Key take aways are that he is shooting from good positions (in the box), accurately (on target 55% of the time), and his vital stats are broadly on par with last season, which was award winning. HH

I had a feeling this might happen – all 3 of the remaining competitors (calling them staunners might get me banned) have chosen the same team – Liverpool. So, if Liverpool win (away to Bournemouth on Sunday) then the, so something in the order of £250+ each – so it’s definitely the ole proverbial ‘win win’ situation.

Good luck doesn’t really make sense this week! So instead I’ll say well done to those remaining – stpatricksbhoy

Great news that’s got the weekend of to a good start, I listened to this tune from Christy Moore on the late late show a couple of weeks ago and he sang this ,I thought it was very funny. https://youtu.be/VxzBX-NiUS0 hope that link works.HH

  14. Eurochamps67- what a week you’ve had mate!

  15. Yorkbhoy i see no reason we cant progess with similair, if not as grand, plans.

I am sure we already have an international soccer partnership programme with multiple partners accoss the world. I am sure we plan to grow this as much as possible.

Am sure we were quoted as bring interested in clubs in australia and previously north America. Celtic may not have the stupid money of city but that does not mean we have to sit at the back of the bus and feel sorry for ourselves. However, the blame between growth at Home and abroad needs to be good.

i would guess we have far from fully maximised our revenue in the UK, never mind abroad. The hotel, museum etc… around the stadium might go some way to this end if it even get built.

Hopefully steady process will win the day for clubs like us. If anything the man city situation shows that everything change.

We should not be worried we should be agressive and determined.

  16. When joining the motorway, get yourself up to the appropriate speed before finding a space to move in…..otherwise wait BEFORE the give way road markings before it’s safe to join. DONT just amble on at 20mph and expect those already on the motorway doing 70mph to slam on their brakes just to let YOU on. You all know who you are. Ar%#*les

  17. EC67, great news. Enjoy Christmas with your loved ones. February is not too far off and then you will have achieved another goal on your return to Paradise.

  18. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Eurochamps, magnificent news . I hope your recuperation goes as well as the operation.

  19. Stephbhoy I agree I think we should do more to get income from across the world but Man City are buying teams not just having connections. They bought a player from their Oz team for £450,000 and sold him for £10 million without him kicking a ball for City. I think that other rich teams will try and copy their model and we will end up with a few elite clubs playing each other. Now I won’t care about that but the problem is the next generation of kids coming through will see that as the thing to follow. Sky is bad enough with the EPL imagine if it had Man Utd V Bayern, Barca V Sao Paulo etc every weekend?

I know the subject matter is of little or no interest to some but it does no harm to appreciate the factors that have left a number of supporters unhappy at events since 2011.

One more layer has been peeled away on the Genesis of LNS and why Rangers were never charged with dishonesty (or cheating in the vernacular) so the article at

if it does nothing else, sets an alternative narrative to the commissioning of LNS which you can refer your bluenose pals to when they claim they did nothing wrong based on LNS.

Please ignore my post above atpm. Here’s what I always meant to say!

I had a feeling this might happen – all 3 of the remaining competitors (calling them staunners might get me banned) have chosen the same team – Liverpool. So, if Liverpool win (away to Bournemouth on Sunday) then the competition moves on to Week 13. But if Liverpool don’t win then the prize fund will be shared out to the 3 finalists, so something in the order of £250+ each – so it’s definitely the ole proverbial ‘win win’ situation.

Good luck doesn’t really make sense this week! So instead I’ll say well done to those remaining –
