EDOUARD ‘THRILLED’ AT PAL’S ARRIVAL

ODSONNE EDOUARD has admitted he is “excited” at the prospect of teaming up again with Celtic’s new £7million signing Christopher Jullien.

The treble-treble hero and the centre-back were team-mates at French Ligue 1 side Toulouse during the 2016/17 campaign when the striker was on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

Edouard, of course, followed that up with a temporary transfer at Parkhead before last summer’s record-breaking £10million permanent switch.

The 22-year-old frontman, who scored 23 goals in the historic campaign as well as a double in the Scottish Cup Final triumph over Hearts on May 25, told the club website: “Christopher is a very good player.

“I liked playing alongside him at Toulouse and he’s a good friend of mine.

“We kept in contact and I’m very happy that he’s signed for Celtic. I’m excited to play alongside him again, he can help the team a lot.”

The friends will be reunited tomorrow when 26-year-old Jullien flies out to join his new team-mates at their Austrian training camp.

Edouard sat out the 6-1 win over the amateurs of Pinkafeld during the week, but is likely to feature in the second game against Third Division Wierner SC tonight.
