There was some misunderstanding that Charles ‘Emerald’ Green’s suggestion that he was hoping to “invest in the playing side right away” might not play well with major creditor HMRC. Capital introduced to the company after a CVA has nothing to do with a creditor’s assessment of the offer and, if anything, would offer comfort to HMRC that the company would be able to maintain future payments.
The comments are more of a challenge for the football authorities. The independent SFA appellant panel will today assess whether to increase, reduce of remove Rangers 12 month player registration embargo. Rangers narrative for the last two weeks is that this embargo could put them out of business. Apparently, they need to spend MORE money in future to ensure survival.
It remains to be seen if playing victim does them any good at appeal but Green has brushed this away, Rangers now plan to put a team on the field to win the league and reach the Champions League. Maybe not the wisest PR move.
John O’Hara, the Celtic secretary, had been unable to lure Kelly. Glass, however, was indefatigable and said he had ‘camped on his doorstep’. The 22-year-old was talked into taking part in Celtic’s first ever match, a 5-2 win over Rangers. ‘No Kelly, no Keltic’ became a catch phrase summary of the towering centre half’s significance. ‘I knew that if I could get Kelly, the rest would follow’, said Glass.

If the rumours are true, i would love Matt (?) Mills from Leicester
Was the captain of Reading when they reached the play off final last year and was captain of big spending Leicester until a recent fall out
I think he’ll be good, he’s impressed me every time I’ve seen him
ASonOfDan – We dodged a bullet not joining the EPL.
Man City’s win was a great football moment, but without that kind of money behind us we’d never prosper in England.
And nobody wants to see Celtic become the plaything of Arab sheikhs or dodgy Russian “businessmen” or grasping American consortia. (thumbsup)
Whats the deal with Fraser Forster? Is his agent being evasive or are htye holding out for offers?
I read earlier WestHam may put in a bid???? The big fella has had a great season courtesy of the mighty HOOPS, why does he want to end it?
FF sign on the line and keep you agents cut of the cash!!
Hail Hail

BRTH –
An outstanding lunchtime read, thank you for that! At least I now appreciate the reason for 25% of your blog name. Can’t wait for your revelations about good old Anton! ;-)
Back to work…
BRTH,
Got to get the info from somewhere I suppose, but a newspaper :-) . Watching it I heard Butch Harmon say it a number of times, so it kinda stuck.
singapore celt – FF is testing the waters for a move south. I expect he’ll get an offer we can’t/won’t match, and will probably leave. (thumbsup)
Jobo,
It was nice to meet you a few weeks back….. Thankfully I dinna need to know the cold orecast as back in th tropics….. :-)
Just for info had a bad cold for 2 weeks!!!!
Hail Hail

philvisreturns,

RB – Matthews, Lustig

CB – Mulgrew, Rogne, 2 x New CBs (Mills + 1 other)
CM – Wanyama, Brown, Ledley, Kayal

Squad of 23 plus the best youngsters (Watt, McGeouch, Twarzik etc)

Kayal,
Do you rate Craig Gordon higher than Forster?

Yes, the only question is his fitness.
Why pay £2m for a keeper when you can get (arguably) a better one on a Bosman. Use the money saved on a centre half or striker.
After the notes on the original sanctions being released after the the huns orchestrated their followers into intimidation tactics,I would have thought the appeal would fail, let’s hope confirmation comes shortly.
I’m sure Fraser Forster’s agent will want him to look at all the options before he makes a decision.
He could go back to Newcastle. There was talk of bids coming in for Krul, so if they were to make him number one he might go back.
Another EPL club might be interested.
He could stay with us. I think we have first option, but presumably that is subject to agreeing terms. We can offer him trophies and European football. Is that better than more money playing for an EPL club?
singapore celt – Me too, I want him to stay.
BTW – Gut feeling or heard something?
Just based on what’s been in the public domain for the past few months. His agents will be desperate to move him to the EPL so they can make decent commission on him, and big Fraser seems to be willing to listen to offers. (thumbsup)
And in the post comes………..?
The Third series of Breaking Bad……………………!
Also, why are we after Craig Gordon anyway? Boruc and FF where at their best because they hadn’t quite ‘made it’ I’d imagine Gordon is worth a few quid now.
Kayal,
Cheers for the quick reply. I like Forster, I think he has grown in stature every single game he has played.
I watched his debut at Murderwell and watched Stevie Woods leather the ball at him from close distance and not once did he flinch.
My only complaints I had in the first season was that he did not talk enough nor did he command his area.
This season he has resolved both for me…
He is a right good shot stopper and a huge prescence in goal….
Not disagreeing wih you Bhoy, just giving my opinion….

I wouldn’t blame Forster for not hanging around. I don’t think he is really appreciated.

If WHU go up, I would expect them to move for FF.
Craig Gordon was and is a definite target if FF had not improved by January or doesn’t sign.
Keep the Faith!

Disagree with you mate. FF was not held in high regard but his performances since the Hearts pen save, have turned the majority to rating him highly.

Agree with all you say about FF, I just think that Gordon is better when fit.
Wouldn’t mind FF signing on, just think money could be better used elsewhere when there are experienced international Bosmans available.
Craig Gordon when he was with Hearts was a terriffic keeper and that is what made Sunderland pay 9 Million for his services.Unfortunately for the player the last two seasons he has suffered from injuries which has limited his first team games. Now if he can be signed for free and he can recover his fitness he would imo be a great signing and the two Million pounds saved on not buying Fraser Forster could be used to strenthgen other areas of the team.Well it makes sense to me.H.H.
The appeal was expected to take 3 days to announce a result. Unless they have grew a pair and reject it out of hand.

I’m a big fan. But it must irk him a bit when he hears songs of praise about his understudy and a former hero between the sticks, but barely any acknowledgement to himself.
Just seen the England squad for Euros,
I will eat my hat if that squad get anywhere near winning the tournament
England squad:
Goalkeepers – Joe Hart, Robert Green, John Ruddy.
Defenders – Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson, Phil Jones, Joleon Lescott, John Terry.
Midfielders – Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Ashley Young.
Strikers – Andy Carroll, Jermian Defoe, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck.
as weak an England squad as they’ve taken to a major championship in recent times.
add the toxic effects of terry in the squad and you have a recipe for a disastrous tourney for them (here’s hoping)
Joe Filippis Haircut,
Fair point however it’s been 24 months and his injury nightmare wont go away? Sunderland obviosuly dont rate him these days that being said if he can prove his fitness then o.k. Can he though?
FF has missed very little of the season and we also broke the clean sheet record (I think I read it, maybe wrong….) ..
The Bhoy is in his prime, he is a Geordie he knows what needs to be done.
IMO, gordon is a gamble…..
Hail Hail

I like the look of your squad Kayal33
I would like FF to stay but the rumours are if West Ham go up, then that is where he is away to. I read somewhere his girlfriend is based in Essex so it would suit him on a personal level.
Shame really, he has had a great season and NL showed a lot of faith in him to go back for him.
More players playing well in their respected positions the better our chances at the qualifiers and FF falls into that category.
