Energising offensively

1455

I’ve spoken to many Celtic fans over the last couple of days but I’ve not met one who would have preferred Roy Keane to be our manager instead of Ronny Deila.  Despite some impeccable references, Ronny is a largely unknown character, but there is an appreciation among the support that we need to come up with a plan to enable the club to over-achieve in Europe.

The man’s performance at the media conference was faultless.  It’s not important to quick-witted but his use of words like “energise” and “offensive” is promising.  Football is in the entertainment business and Ronny appears to appreciate the link between the way his team perform, not just their results, and the ultimate satisfaction supporters’ leave the ground with.

Our thanks to the Greenock Celtic Supporters Club for hosting last night’s CQN Lions fundraiser for the Celtic FC Foundation.  We were fortunate to be entertained by Willie Wallace, John Hughes and Bertie Auld, it was a fantastic night, full of laughs.

Special thanks to those who attended and helped raise over £2000 for the Foundation, and to those who promised to get involved with the Foundation.  The club is in good hands with supporters like those in Greenock last night.  Big shout to Joe and Mick for bringing a familiar old friend along.

Visit the CQN Bookstore to get Tommy Gemmell to sign your personal copy of his tome, All the Best.

If Scotland votes yes they’ll still be here.

And they’ll have far more influence in a separate Scotland than they do in the UK.

I know what your saying, I just think JC and Ronny whom are obviously to two strong minded people, could end in tears.

I reckon our new manager will not need anything JC has to offer, as he has it all in his own bag coaching wise.

A helping hand to deal with new players and the rest of the problems he will come up against,

that is where he will need assistance.HH

To do so, they will have to change their spots and vote for a Labour Party which they perceive as being, if not Catholic, heavily Catholic influenced.

I will take it off line but know this, I was speaking to the ol’ man about it on the phone only a few hours ago. And DBBIA passing thru’ too. And me having room to accommodate all of you, okay I might have to boot out the auld rabid dog or two but TSD is use to be a reject.

I’m here, you and yours are welcome.

And I think if I look hard enough I could dig out a wee rebel tune or two too.

And we’d sit on my royal steps where me and Estadio (and a few other friends and family too) sat and drank a moon over the horizon and sang to her a fond adieu.

And we remembered those we love.

I do think if YES wins some elements of No could become violent. There are murmurings of this in that video I described here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuC59K_PsGs

I don’t see things like that if YES wins. I just see people being happy waving Saltires but the likes of that guy (who is in the SDL by the way) worry me.

  22. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

I have been reading back over the blog for the past few hours at yesterday’s & today’s posts.

There were a number of posts about Charlie Gallagher, he sits in the front of row of the main stand, regarding his passing and ability to take corners. My dad thought he was a good player but without as big a heart as wee Bertie, Big Tam, Jinky.

KevJ, I’m sure Charlie is one of your favourite’s, Gerry McNee, cousins.

Who in posters’ opinion has been our most underrated/undervalued player in the last fifty years?

Mine is Billy Stark. I didn’t realise what a terrific player he was until we got him. Guys who stood beside me called him Casper as Billy ghosted in at the back post. His goal the day Sourness was sent off has had no bearing on my opinion, honest.

  23. Pfayr, will need to sell first I think :-)

And I have no issue with selling big Fraser if price is right, I see on news now we are interested in Ronny’s keeper from Stromgodset, a Ghana internationalist ?

    Hail Hail

  24. People need to remember that in an independent Scotland there would be a realignment of politics once the SNP break up

No-one can say with great certainty what that would be like but Catholics only make up a small percentage of the Scottish population. We would be a very small minority in an environment which until the recent past( in historical terms) has been very hostile to us!

I’m not George Galloway’s biggest fan but I’m with him on this one!

All very admirable but what has that got to do with who the manager should be?

  27. Yes, Ernie, you’ve got me right. You don’t have a vote.

You really need to stay out of something that doesn’t concern you.

Don’t get so upset. It’s not as if it’s your fault you don’t have a vote.

I don’t know whether Ernie has a vote or not, but he’s entitled to give his views on the issue regardless.

  33. Very noble sentiment Kit.

We used to have gates for the clergy and of course the practice of lifting kids over the turnstiles was pretty normal for a while. Although some of the kids stretched the definition a wee bit.

Apart from that I know of no other concessions even from the earliest times.

Would you limit the number of seats available? Keep them in separate sections?

I would like to see the unused away section area being opened up for this sort of turn up at the game and get in for free or a donation scheme.
