Energising offensively

1455

I’ve spoken to many Celtic fans over the last couple of days but I’ve not met one who would have preferred Roy Keane to be our manager instead of Ronny Deila.  Despite some impeccable references, Ronny is a largely unknown character, but there is an appreciation among the support that we need to come up with a plan to enable the club to over-achieve in Europe.

The man’s performance at the media conference was faultless.  It’s not important to quick-witted but his use of words like “energise” and “offensive” is promising.  Football is in the entertainment business and Ronny appears to appreciate the link between the way his team perform, not just their results, and the ultimate satisfaction supporters’ leave the ground with.

Our thanks to the Greenock Celtic Supporters Club for hosting last night’s CQN Lions fundraiser for the Celtic FC Foundation.  We were fortunate to be entertained by Willie Wallace, John Hughes and Bertie Auld, it was a fantastic night, full of laughs.

Special thanks to those who attended and helped raise over £2000 for the Foundation, and to those who promised to get involved with the Foundation.  The club is in good hands with supporters like those in Greenock last night.  Big shout to Joe and Mick for bringing a familiar old friend along.

Visit the CQN Bookstore to get Tommy Gemmell to sign your personal copy of his tome, All the Best.

I genuinely hope your mother gets over her limited expectations of you. But hey! all is not lost, you’re an international reprobate. In anybody’s book that is better than being a parochial reprobate.

    I love you.

Ernie when it comes to truth, what I do know is that you have as much say in the referendum as Barack Obama, George Osborne, Ian Paisley, Elton John or Prince Charles. That is, no say. You don’t have a vote.

What you and the others I’ve mentioned don’t get is they more you and your ilk interfere, the less likely the vote will be no.

Time to haud yer wheesht and leave it to us with a vote. This is a big decision and we don’t need your input.

I don’t know what exactly you mean by abide by the result. If you mean will we never talk of it again then the answer is no. We will continue to campaign for it until we get what we want.

It is the nature of the beast I’m afraid.

We’ve never won on this issue and we might not win this year but one day we will.

If we vote no, within 5 years some of the no voters will in my opinion regret that decision and it will come back on the agenda. The fundamentalists will remain where they are but the reluctant ones will see their error I believe.

If Alex Salmond is correct it might be another 30 years but if no wins by a small percentage and we get what is coming down the line from London then it will be back on the agenda rather quickly. We know what is coming from London our way if we vote no and it is not pretty. When people ask for certainty in this debate the only things we can be certain about is the cuts that are to come regardless of who is elected in 2015 and everything that goes with it.

You see what I think you are asking is will the idea go away?

And the answer will always be no.

We were told by another Labour Lord that devolution would kill nationalism stone dead but what really happened is the return of our parliament made it possible for people to imagine something more for Scotland.

It has instead been one of many catalysts bringing us to where we are today.

Once the idea is out there it doesn’t just disappear.

  27. Sipsini,

Wouldn’t mind him helping us find our no. 2 with that level of fitness and never be defeated attitude :-)

    Anyone any ideas ?

I’ve been lucky in life a wee bit, I’ve been able, through work, to get about a wee bit. Everywhere, I go they just heap all this PPE stuff on me. But I only have one life. I’ll never wear out my favourite boots.

I have a creek runs through my wee patch and when the rains come the rivers flow and I put on size seven to fourteen boots on my kids and they run up an down the creek and break the boots in. Then I give them away.

But I have a favourite pair of working boots, if anybody is so masochistic to have such a favourite, but I do. They’re very expensive leather, they’re moulded to my feet and my ankles, I love them when I’m working but I just know God put those boots on this earth, not for me, but for a reason. A divine calling and I’m waiting for the phone to ring.

If working boots could be sexy, mine are okay, well better than okay but I’m not going to baost, they’re ageing well, but they know and I know until I, in they give, TSD one almighty boot in the baws, then they have been wasted and so have I.

TSD… kitalba@gmail.com please get in touch I love you.
