Extra week training in July has huge impact

2173

I was concerned about a trip to Estonia after hearing Hearts struggle in their home leg against Estonian opponents last week, so news that Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps beat Flora Tallinn was welcome, although the concern was tempered as news arrived that Hearts were three goals up in the away leg.

The lesson here is that in July, one more week’s training has a huge impact on performance.

Brendan Rodgers will be happy with how training has progressed thus far, but it’s only when players put multiple 90 minutes under their belts that they are ready for competitive action. There’s not necessarily a great deal of work to do to overcome Red Imps (no offence intended), but qualifiers come thick and fast thereafter. Despite beating Slovenian champions Olimpija Ljubljana yesterday, I expect Celtic will be more motivated for Saturday’s game against Maribor.

It gets serious from now onwards.

  1. just hung out my RES12 t shirt to dry as it got airing in Majorca this week.

Just know that even if the 6pm announcement doesn’t meet expectations

(There will be some on here no matter what it says it

    will never be enough)

The gang of four and backup bhoys have my thanks for at

See this “I pay my money” nonsense? It is thrown up every time someone questions the actions of Celtic supporters.

    ……………………………………………………………

    I never said that.

    You did.

Everyone else in the world can be criticised on social media/public forums but poorly performing Celtic players can’t.

    Aye, OK.

I’m in Mexico so I only need to wait till 12 to find out what’s in the latest instalment of resolution 12.

i know exactly what you point was – but I think on this occasion you are being a little churlish.

I hope we will all be happy after 6pm :))

Got to go out for a while.

I don’t expect that much from the Res 12 thing, at the end of the day there have been far too many vested interests in keeping it quashed, too much face to lose, too much money involved, too much lies to cover up, too much corruption to cover up.

What it has done is shine a light on the corrupt powers, they know that their every move will now be under scrutiny.

Kudos to the Res 12 bhoys, they have done what the rest of us can only dream about.

  8. An Teach Solais on

To TD who is complaining that one journalist who is favourable to the cause has been given advance notice of the Res12 statement. It is common practice for trades unions etc to issue advance notice of policy statements etc to the press with an time embargo until the union has actually issued the statement. This maximises the publicity value.

I see no problem in advance notice being given to the likes of James Forrest. I would cavil at any information being given to the likes of Keith what’s-his-name at the paper you used to buy.

Unfortunately, in the face of a complicit media in this country the Res12 bhoys have had to operate in strict secrecy and sending out hundreds of e-mails to contributing shareholders would have alerted our press friends to mount a campaign of misinformation.

    Allez les Res12 gharcons. HH

  9. Winning Captains

So I was about to say that you said 6pm, and it IS now 6pm… here in Kazakhstan. So you could actually send it to ME as it IS my 6 o’clock, and anyway I wouldn’t tell anybody abut it until it was THEIR 6 o’clock. But then I remembered something. I’m rubbish at keeping secrets. Well no I shouldn’t say that really, I’m actually quite good at it when someone asks me about a secret, I always say NO! That was told to me in confidence so I cannot say anything. But then they go aww go on I won’t tell anybody you told me and then I crumble and give in.

So anyway, with that all said. I think we should wait for YOUR 6 o’clock really. But don’t tell anybody that it was me that told you that OK?

    Hail Hail,

    KevinBhoy.

  10. Tony D I along with many other shareholders and contributors to Res 12 have told the the ghuys to do what they think is best. I know three of them personally so have no fears, can you say the same/ In fact do you have ant rights to waive-not wave. Relax KTF. Hope you enjoyed your break. H H Hebcelt

    Manufacturing Consent Redux

The guiding premise of this site is to establish the truth. There is so much misinformation in the SMSM that critical thought is being manipulated, subverted and subsumed to serve a Rangers-facing CDE1 demographic. When Keith Jackson lied about all Rangers players being attacked at Hampden his lies were approved by his Sports Desk editor, Darren Cooney. This is, at best, irresponsible journalism that feeds the ‘victim mentality’ within the Rangers support. Garly Ralston, who also reports to Cooney, is posting a fanciful narrative that he is on tour with Rangers. There is no tour Mr Ralston. There has been one game that Rangers narrowly won 2-1, with one goal scored by a player who has not agreed terms and will not be reporting to Auchenhowie. To present this one game as two of 45 minutes is a lie. The liberal use of substitutes in either half does not in any way support this lie. Charleston play in the third division of American Professional Soccer. They were established in 1993. Mr Ralston would have us believe that they are playing in the same league as New York Cosmos. They are not. Their major rivals are Richmond Kickers. However in their haste to present a positive narrative, which sells copy, the prosaic facts are overlooked. Stewart Robertson has withdrawn his application to join the SPFL board. The puff pieces in The Herald, produced by Level 5, did not sway the current members to vote for him. His sense of entitlement was misplaced. There are others, notably Lawwell and Budge, who bring more to the table than the MD of an organisation that has yet to pay their £250,000 fine and costs to the SPFL. After an unsuccessful appeal to the SFA, the costs will be slightly less than the actual fine. Why would anyone elect any candidate from a club that owes circa £500,000 to the other members? It was the kind of preposterous proposition that we have come to expect from the worst board in Rangers’ history. If your perception is that TRFC are a new club that was formed four years ago, the maxim still holds true. However we are assured that they are Real Rangers Men. As long as their hearts are s in the right place, their heads can be dedicated to bribery, market manipulation and corruption. Is the H4H controversy the result of trickle down corruption?

  16. I have made my feelings known about individual player performances both at the park and online. I already said there is nothing wrong with that.

There is a world of difference between that and publicly celebrating a player leaving or potentially leaving the club, in the full glare of huns and other detractors.

  27. Auld Tam,

I can understand where you are coming from.

However : many of us on here and in the wider Celtic support were not convinced that all our players gave 100% last season. BR has watched every game, possibly he has come to the same conclusion.

Many of us on here have been consistent that we would not forget the non triers and the disruptive elements from last season who undermined our previous manager and short changed our support. While I am absolutely delighted about our new manager, repercussions were and are inevitable.

You got the answer. It is common practice to release details subject to an embargo.
