Extra week training in July has huge impact

2173

I was concerned about a trip to Estonia after hearing Hearts struggle in their home leg against Estonian opponents last week, so news that Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps beat Flora Tallinn was welcome, although the concern was tempered as news arrived that Hearts were three goals up in the away leg.

The lesson here is that in July, one more week’s training has a huge impact on performance.

Brendan Rodgers will be happy with how training has progressed thus far, but it’s only when players put multiple 90 minutes under their belts that they are ready for competitive action. There’s not necessarily a great deal of work to do to overcome Red Imps (no offence intended), but qualifiers come thick and fast thereafter. Despite beating Slovenian champions Olimpija Ljubljana yesterday, I expect Celtic will be more motivated for Saturday’s game against Maribor.

It gets serious from now onwards.

Am I reading this correctly following administration a new club/company was formed, therefore UEFA recognise the incorporation of club and company and not the incubator holding company nonsense that the media and football authorities here would have you believe, copy Doncaster and Regan into this and amend the historical records of football in this country

    =========================

To make it clear, Res12 was not about the same club issue which means it will be up to individuals to pursue.

I hope that those on here who doubted, derided or scorned the efforts of the Resolutioners can now give credit where it is due.

You will never really appreciate the amount of time and effort these guys put in over the last few years. It is perhaps time for others to step up and continue their good work. This is not the end but just the end of phase 1.

In particular (and in alphabetical order) – Chapeau to Auldheid, BRTH, Canalamar and Morrissey – real Celtic Lions!

Let me know first chance you get, mate. I’ve a fortnight yet to book, the main criteria being to avoid me being at a Celtic match in Autumn(!)

I understand that Res 12 was about governance however Uefa’s reply has introduced this new club / company as part of their reply, so that is why I asked about it.

Who are the individual you speak of ?

Is there a rough time table for predictive follow up action etc?

  11. Hello. James Traynor here

Auldheid you have just turned my phone red with texts, voice mail and urgent tweets from twats.

I was happily drinking my 10th pint with pie and beans,

(No mean achievement 10 pies and beans since 3 o’clock)

Now I’m being dragged out of the Airdrie Masonic Ludge to issue a dignified statement in response.

I’m tinkering with successful unbeaten preseason Teip to America where 50,000 loyal fans overfilled a 3,000 capacity stadium against a college side.

    Any tips Auldheid?

What we’ve learned this evening is hopefully a small stepping stone to the Truth being in the public domain and accepted as We All Know it, as what #Res12 is based on it’s not about Sevco or Rangers it’s about the accountability and fair governance of our so called football “governing bodies” . The tribute act are an irrelevance and are self imploding like their predecessors. The only thing we can be sure of is when we wake up tomorrow we’ll Still be Celtic men and wummin and they’ll still be f@#cked.

    Oh the joys

  14. Eddie, perhaps, although I think it open to question, hence I don’t think it finished yet.

The SFA may make a statement along the lines of, now we have UEFA’s guidance new is a new club.

Or bury their head in the sand and stay quiet.

Auldheid, are more questions going back to UEFA?

More questions asked of UEFA may illicit more answers.

Some initial thoughts on the Res 12 update https://theclumpany.wordpress.com/2016/07/08/the-resolution-12-update/

    ============================

In my view It would not in fact be helpful for Celtic to intervene at this point, nor would it be helpful to release the UEFA letter until after a response has been made.

What has been made clear is that with no possibility of UEFA taking any sanctions against TRFC then Res12 can only be about SFA accountability and better governance and the issues we want to go back to UEFA with will we think serve that purpose.

  16. TheLurkinTim on

Congratulations on getting UEFA to say unequivocally that Sevco are a new club…..but where’s the meat-on-the-bone RES12 SFA up-date?

    FTSFA

This is the bit from the Update. The meat on the bone will be in the response which will have to wait a bit longer for reasons given.

However, in terms of accountability, the full UEFA response, when set against and contrasted with other information in the public domain, previous replies and public statements from the SFA, has raised further significant and as yet unanswered questions that shareholders feel should be drawn to the attention of UEFA Club Financial Control Body, the SFA (who said they would cooperate with any enquiry/investigation by UEFA) and Celtic, whom UEFA invited to take up directly.

NB: The contact details provided by the SFA to CFC Plc were for the Club Licensing & Financial Fair Play section of UEFA and not the CFCB.

These questions will be raised with relevant UEFA authorities (copied to Celtic and the SFA to consider) by the solicitors acting on behalf of shareholders by the end of July to allow for the intervening holiday period now upon us.

  25. ‘Politician’ statement from UEFA with no straightforward statement that they are a new club with no history. UEFA refer such domestic matters to the relevant FA for advice, hence the obscure wordings

  26. If scoddish fitba’ wants to save itself then the SFA will need to implement something akin to a Truth and Reconciliation process………….if it doesn’t it will always be bent and broken.

Next time you are in Spain Jobo, sounds like you had a good holiday last week.

I would not put any timeframe on any media picking up on their interest although STV might want to say something about the new club/company they never mentioned the other week.

Auldheid. Many congratulations and thanks offered to you res12 guys. You have done an amazing job under difficult circumstances.

I note in your reply to The Clumpany you think it is better for Celtic not to intervene at this point.

There are those within the support who think that Celtic should have intervened a long time before now if they were genuine in their aims to hold the SFA responsible for their in/actions. Would you agree?

And finally Cyril, do you think there is an appetite to stick the SFA in the dock and hold them accountable for their incompetence/complicity in this whole, sorry mess?
