Fantastic result from Celtic Park

757

It was a fantastic result from Celtic Park last night for Scotland’s poor who are dependent on food aid.  Fans arrived in droves before kick off with bags full of provisions to restock food banks across the region.

I can sympathise with the SPFL to an extent.  Without a sponsor, they are even more dependent on satisfying television, and satisfying television often involves making unpopular decisions, but the mess they’ve made of scheduling the final Championship fixtures of the season is deeply embarrassing for our game.

Our game is looking more and more like it’s being run like a Banana Republic.  Generalissimo Doncaster has a case to answer.

I’m pretty sure no one at Celtic considered Leigh Griffiths as their number one striker when he signed a year ago.  That he has become so, is as much a result of his forward competition failing to deliver as much as his own talents, but there’s no denying Leigh’s ability.  He’s turned into a vibrant, productive striker who scores all types of goals.

Correct, but the SFA will be opening a helluva ‘ can of worms’ if they try to squirm out of taking the only decision possibly under the clear rule……

  2. Id be willing to bet, the Dave King of Africa, and his lackey Paul Murray, will shortly be lauded as respected businessmen, cleared by the sash factory as fit and proper, and resort to threats of court action against any detractors.

Huns will always prop up huns.

  3. I think Oliver Hardy put it best : “This is another fine mess you’ve gotten me into.”

Question is, who is saying it to whom?

    Regan to Doncaster?

    Doncaster to King?

    Regan to King?

    Murray to King?

    King to himself?

The list just keeps going on and on….

May I remind you…that this is Scoddland…..where the usual rules, don’t apply.

Dave King of Africa, will come out of this vindicated(He may even use this word directly, when giving his victory speech to the DR).

Paul Murray, that halfwit with the brylcreemed quiff, will be the new Minty Moonbeams, and marry wee Mrs Budge, for a laugh.

  8. Am I the only one who doesn’t care if two guys who were directors in one of old co ‘s worst periods in history are ok’d for the board of newco??

Well, not quite ‘doesnt care’ but I’ll lose no sleep over it :)

    The future is bright.

  9. So the SFA are asking for information from Sevco about Dave King.

This is the club which was fined by the SPFL yesterday for concealing information about Mick Ashley’s involvement.

Also the club’s predecessor which was liquidated, concealed contracts from the SFA previously in the form of EBTs etc.

I would be ordering salt from a salt mine in Salt town (Saltcoats:-) on an industrial scale if I were working in the SFA and dealing with this.

  10. I mean it’s just daft, what information are they waiting for from Sevco?

That’s six weeks now and still no further on, it all been done in one hour.

Naw! Is the word they are looking for but not a word that thems are used to.

Anyone think this is what is holding up the Guidetti decision? Hehe.

  11. Summa,

  13. .

King would potentially fall down on two counts. Firstly, the guidelines state consideration would be given as to whether an office bearer is fit and proper if “he has been convicted within the last 10 years of (i) an offence liable to imprisonment of two years or over, (ii) corruption or (iii) fraud”.

but as someone already said the sfa are just trying to find a loophole round all this to allow king to be a director of sevco

corrupt as the day is long

  15. 67heaven so many cans of worms have been opened already that you can’t walk around in Scotland without stepping on one. However scotland is still pretending they aren’t really there.

Geordie of course it isn’t actually about the tow edits in question it’s about corruption and racism. So you should lose so,e sleep over that and the future is simply uncertain.

The delicious irony is that the succession of crooks and spivs who have taken charge of that most dignified of racists have been allowed by the SFA and led to their demise. And here they are having to decide how to break their own rules again to let it happen to their latest incarnation.

Meanwhile the media clap like stupid seals (sorry seals you are better than the,) pleading for more, more.

That irony I enjoy very much.

  16. Incidentally should celtic, as part of the SPFL board, be calling for doncasters resignation? No? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

Or perhaps we were part of the committee that decided to give the new Huns a wee leg up?

    Bueller? Anyone?

  17. While I will be angered if (or better:when) the SFA proclaim King and Murray pure as the driven snow, I will also be quite content, as they are so obviously chancers. They and the deid club deserve one another.

  18. The SFA are waiting to see if Glib & Shameless has any money, you got the wedge Dave, ok yer in, you’ve no goat the wedge sorry mate we need to play by the rules..

It’s al about the money which ole Glibby disnae seem to have..nae fecking surprise there as he is a bona fide fraud and fraudster..

After that it all went wrong to me.

Maybe that was the beginning of it?

Went to see them a couple of times in Paradise and the shows they did blew me away.

The last time i saw them was at Murrayfielf around the mid 90s and it was like they were a completely different band.

My big sis would give me their new album or dvd every year at christmas….they are still in the cellophane.

Got into them because of Red Rocks.

    Have you seen it?

  20. Neganon,

Aw aye. I agree it’s about doing the right thing but if they are gonna do the ‘wrong thing’ I’m glad it’s two incompetents they will be voting in.

I’ll never lose sleep over them :)

  21. Barry Ferguson trying to re-write history again claiming the league wasn’t extended in 2008 to help the huns, that’s right ya fud the final game of the season is always the THURSDAY night before the scottish cup final.

Maybe if they never cancelled league games during the season the back log would have never happened.

  22. Declaring both the real Rangers men as fit and proper will eventually lead to a collapse of Sevco as those two helped destroy the previous incarnation.

Additionally it will show the world just how inept (corrupt if you like) the authorities are in this part of the world.

My only worry is, that before any collapse, the two bozos will come up with yet more skullduggery to try and advance the poisoned club’s position at the expense of other teams.

  23. Wise up, people. Best thing that can happen is King and Murray being passed F&P by the SFA.

Like putting the Riddler and the Penguin in charge of Arkham Asylum.

  24. Just a few days ago, we saw a blatant attempt by Doncaster to provide an advantage to sevco, if he wasn’t quickly slapped down, he would have got away with it.

So, you can bet your bottom dollar that Dave King will be cleared.

Remember, they have been up to these antics for a very long time, its only in the internet age that we have been able to see it clearly.

Personally, I don’t understand how the people that fund Scottish football( the fans), don’t have any say in how its run, its a closed shop.

That should be challenged, there should be a more open and democratic system, not this bowling club mentality, dodgy handshakes and blazers.

Its obscene the way football is run in this country, the corruption has to be stopped.

  25. My understanding of the Woolman decision, was that he cleared King to be a director of” a ” Rangers, which the MSM , as is their way, dropped the very significant “a”, which clearly implies that Woolman is of the mind that there has been more than one Rangers.Might be wrong

  26. Remember this, hahahahaha. Quality.

Alastair Johnston and Paul Murray have left Rangers after being removed from the club’s board.

In a statement to the Stock Exchange on Tuesday morning, Rangers announced a change to their board of directors, with both Johnston and Murray leaving Ibrox.

The statement read: “The board announces that on 23 May 2011 Alastair Johnston and Paul Murray were removed as directors of The Rangers Football Club P.L.C. The Directors of The Rangers Football Club P.L.C. accept responsibility for this announcement.”

In a separate announcement, the club revealed that Cairn Financial Advisers have been appointed to advise the club with immediate effect.

The announcement marks the first significant changes to the Ibrox boardroom since Craig Whyte completed his takeover of the club last month. Johnston had already intimated that he would leave his position but comments made during Whyte’s protracted purchase of the club meant it was unlikely he would have remained in a high-profile role at Ibrox.

The former chairman had expressed his doubts as to Whyte’s ability to bankroll investment in the squad in the long-term. Murray had shared that view and was behind an alternative plan to purchase Sir David Murray’s majority shareholding.

As Whyte was in talks to buy the club, Johnston had said the board hadn’t received “a detailed working capital statement demonstrating that there is sufficient funding in place to meet the pressing needs of the club”.

A source close to the deal told STV: “The move by the board makes no sense at all and is clearly a misguided attempt to further delay or disrupt the deal.

“The deal Craig Whyte was putting forward was worth £52.5 million, more than double the amount which is said to be raised by an unnamed Rangers director.

“Mr Whyte is frustrated, angered and his patience is wearing thin.”

Whyte subsequently completed his purchase of the club and has promised investment in the playing squad to aid new manager Ally McCoist, with the internal changes part of his ongoing work to improve the club’s strength.
