Follow the money. £500k teaser

1406

I’ve been sent a brain teaser.  What legal reasons would someone have to discretely pay another individual £500k?  The people are not currently in business together, although the recipient previously worked for the sender.  No goods have been provided.

It’s a puzzle.

Looking for legal reasons only, no crazy illegal notions or wild speculation about real persons, this is purely a theoretical exercise.

Apparently I’m being sent a moral dilemma tomorrow: Will the recipient, with off-shore accounts but living in interesting times, declare the £500k?

Another wee anecdotal story about der hun.

The September 1971 game at iboke when jinky scored to make it 3-2 to us in the 90th minute. This was the last of the 3 games at ibroke in a month, which we won the lot. Anyway at 2-2 I left the Celtic end to wait for my rangers mates outside the huns end. As i looked at my watch, which said time up, I heard a massive roar, and thought the huns had scored. Then to my delight, I watched thousands of them pouring down the steps out of their end and onto the streets. I had a Celtic scarf tucked well inside my jacket, but was still worried. The orcs immediately targetted every green motor they saw, caving in windows and booting doors. Most of these cars were parked with nobody inside. As I walked down Paisley Rd with my mates I witnessed 2 green white and orange corpy buses smashed to bits (no celtic fans on them) and then the heavy stuff kicked off. A Celtic supporters bus ventured through and was bombarded with screwtops but thankfully they ran a red light and escaped. A couple of car-loads of tims also ran the gauntlet of hate and just got away with windows smashed in. In fact some got out the cars and ran away. The horrible memory of this violence is still fresh, and as a 16 year old I was terrified, thinking that they might somehow suss me. It was my first experience of thems, almost a mini Manchester. You wont be surprised to learn that I never saw a single copper. No one likes them? There’s no one like them!

  2. I may have missed it,but does anyone know if we signed the young lad from a Portuguese club.I think he is South American.

MBB’s lawyer have a problem. Looks like that account was used as de facto the club’s deposit account.

Looks like after paying LBG with the Ticketus money, RFC repaid the sum to ‘Group’ from season ticket proceeds.

Looks like about half of RFC’s cash requirements since May has come from HMRC arrears, the rest dripped in as required by Group.

Looks like there’s a stash still sitting in the client account, that technically, is RFC’s, offset against the LBG dent previously paid.

Looks like there’s nothing in RFC’s bank account, and the club needs the cash to run.

Looks like Whyte. legally, can consider it as Group’s cash from repaid loans, rather than RFC’s cash from income, and could run away with it.

Looks like the Adminstrators have a different idea.

Looks like the Adminstrators need the cash to trade. Meanwhile HMRC are out £9M, and want it now.

Looks like this one could get even funnier.

Only now can the magnitude of Fergus’s achievments be fully appreciated – I saw the crescent he saw the whole of the moon

  5. You know that crazy Hun leggat?

How he is the poster boy of the literate Huns?

He has come over all investigation manic, and is getting into our hero about a link up with ticketus.

However, here is what he said only last year…….

“Sound, and normal, competent, clever and far-sighted business practice is what Whyte has indulged in.

It is why he is continuing to emerge as a man who Rangers supporters can trust with the club.

Obviously the many enemies of Rangers, who exist on the very edge of sanity in cyberspace, and who branded the Whyte moves for Rangers a “fakeover,” have been at the forefront of these attacks as they try to divert attention away from how they have been spectacularly wrong in everything they have been saying about Craig Whyte.

Craig Whyte is a supporter, steeped in Rangers’ past. Now he is the owner and chairman who is already showing a determination to make sure the club’s future is as glorious as its past.”

You really couldn’t make it up, it is just too good.

I dont understand that BBC website at all at the time of the non updated league table, i noticed that Jellyfish was still on the top scorers count, hey ho not to worry they did the same with Kenny Misser, reflected glory or something i thought at the time.

Word is reaching me of the tremendous efforts presently being made by Celtic fans to help animals. A suitable donation has been made from the little I have.

    A marvellous post, thank you.

I could identify with much of what you say, I agree that any chance of sympathy of their plight was slim however totally squashed with their jingoistic sectarian display of defiance last saturday – this demonstrated clearly, as if we needed it, of exactly what they are and what they stand for.

I, like you, look forward to them being humbled (ha ha) on their demise.

Very true, but himself was a special case IMHO.

Do you think that our near Administration experience in 1994 was actually one of the best things to happen to Celtic?

It seems an odd thing to say perhaps, but it often seems that way to me.

Without the club being reorganized we might still be run by the three families and waiting for another diamond like Stein to wash up on our doorstep.

  19. Just been viewing kitalba’s video links. Is it just me who is now waking up? Or did everyone else not really appreciate what a footballing genius Lubomir Moravcik was when he was wearing a Celtic shirt, or is it all just hindsight and nostalgia?

My God I wish we had him in his mid 20s.

When Whyte flogged the Arsenal shares he did it withtypical Rangers Dignity

He kept his mouth shut and told nobody.

I know what you mean, but a few things should be placed in perspective.

First up, Celtic at the time were managed by a collection of the hopless and the incompetent. Director status was conferred by family legacy not talent.

Secondly, Celtic’s debt at the time that the bank threatened to call it in was £5M. Rangers’ debt to the same bank at the same time was £8,746,000. While Rangers had considerably higher turnover than Celtic, the debt was not by any means unsustainable, just too big such that the Directors were beholden.

The threat to call in the debt was little more than a lever to coerce the then Board to accept Fergus’ offer, combined with some behind the curtains encouragement from those now being served humble pie.

Fergus put down the money, and fired the Bank.

The Celtic support piled in behind Fergus, and delivered £14M in the 1995 share issue which, under the clesr sighted Leadership of Fergus, allowed the club to slowly re-emerge from its stasis.

Fergus was the author of our recent history in my view, although Brian Quinn deserves laurels for his work in the following decade.
