Follow the money. £500k teaser

1406

I’ve been sent a brain teaser.  What legal reasons would someone have to discretely pay another individual £500k?  The people are not currently in business together, although the recipient previously worked for the sender.  No goods have been provided.

It’s a puzzle.

Looking for legal reasons only, no crazy illegal notions or wild speculation about real persons, this is purely a theoretical exercise.

Apparently I’m being sent a moral dilemma tomorrow: Will the recipient, with off-shore accounts but living in interesting times, declare the £500k?

it’s pathetic listening to them claiming they knew all about this all along. The latest classic is that they claim there is more to come, they know what it is, and they can’t say just now. Brilliant.

    I could do that.

Remember that old TV show Bullseye, when Jim Bowen used to take great delight in telling the losers, “here’s what you would have won!”. Reminds me a bit of the Rangers Tax Case, with “Sir” David Murray telling the HMRC, here is what we would have paid. There is a theme at work here, the latest wheeze is the saverangers campaign, where deluded Rangers “supporters” support their club by, you guessed it, not giving them any actual money. “Here is what I would have given!”. Must be a Rangers kind of thing.

There is such a thing as ‘culpable ignorance.’ “I didnt know”, is no excuse.

  4. roy croppie,

They sound like some CQN posters near transfer deadline day.

“I’ve got an exclusive, just can’t tell you yet. Don’t want to reveal where I got it from. Oh look he just signed and it’s on TV – yes, that was the guy I was told about days ago.”

Everyone at Rangers running for cover crying – I didnt know. Everyone in the Press emerging from cover crying – I knew from the beginning.

    Exactly.

It sums up the state of journalism here, Biggest story in decades but they didn’t want to believe and probably more like it didn’t dare to investigate and publish. Well done to Mark Daly and the Beeb for eventually getting there but the blogs were way ahead and the rags were left in the stalls.

How many times did we hear “that’ll never happen to Rangers they are too big for that”?

  7. Good morning Bhoys and Ghirls.

    Happy birthday Cameron.

I’ve been trying to catch up on all the latest happenings over at “hectors house”.

So Sally is only just realising how bad the situation is. Only to be expected, he is a bit daft after all. Ditto Hately’s tripe yesterday. I see big fat DJ has his priorities sorted, he thinks it will all be sorted by taking down Our Hero’s portrait. Good man Derek.

Also the hun fans are coming to the rescue. SaveRangers.com is a roaring success. according to dingbat. “Rangers Supporters Trust spokesman Mark Dingwall said: “We are delighted that things are going so well. It shows the lengths the Rangers fans will go to, to help their club.” Such lengths, imaginary pledging to a website will surely save the day.

Paul Murray’s blue knights are also on hand. Murray, who was a director at Ibrokes for the last number of years just needs to get a handle on the huns financial situation before riding in on his white horse. Have you ever heard the likes of it.

Also, according to our trusted friends in the MSM. In the space of 9 months, Craig Whyte has single handedly brought down “the big house” Nothing to do with Minty. All Whyte’s fault. Why am I not surprised.

    Have I missed anything?

    Hail Hail!
