Foregone conclusion territory

1955

I don’t know about you but practically every football thought I have at the moment is connected to where we go next. The small matter of winning the league title has slipped into ‘foregone conclusion’ territory, which is always dangerous.

The players will be no different from the rest of us, but they will have more on their minds. A change of manager is likely to mean a new system, and new squad requirements. They need to focus on making the best of the next five games. One thing that has been reassuring this week is Ronny Deila’s comments. His professional pride is clear; he’ll apply himself fully to the task in hand until the end of the season.

Eyes on the task of winning the league, as soon as possible.

Happy to see Rogic in there.

Last chance for CKR for me. Show something today or goodbye.

Roberts needs to get over last week.

Lustig? What other choice is there?

Biton should never have been there.

So you have my apologies, however, in your words, since whenever he was incompetent, you gave his philosophy, his ideas, his words nor credence, nor regard, nor respect. Now he’s gone he’s become St Paul in your eyes. At what point in time did he all of a sudden become competent?

    In your opinion of course.

    Just one thing ,Kit.

I thought he was a failure at his job.

I also thought the Ronny roar was basically embarrassing.

Otherwise he seemed to be a lovely guy who was out of his depth.

I even suggested a different role for him at Celtic Park as the mess which we found ourselves in continued and continued.

You know what,Kit. I just felt sorry for him.

Never did I suggest he was other than a man of integrity.

He has provided me with no reason to think otherwise.

  3. Not a huge surprise in selection.

Hope there is a different approach from players.

Reasonable that the coach picks those who took him to brink of title see him over the finish line.

Hail Hail. On the bus to the game. Beautiful day and the ability to set ourselves up for the title . Where’s the Carlsberg?

  5. Beautiful day for a game. Paradise looking fantastic. Think it will be a good victory today. Looking forward to it.

So who in your opinion is responsible for his appointment? He did not give himself the job after all.

    I don`t know , Kit.

So I`m not going to speculate.

But i`m damn sure it wasn`t a single individual.

    No Johansen today.

    Injured?

    Maybe two people….

Got to go, got a bus to catch, unfortunately it is not the 263.

Looking forward to the qualifiers next season (If we win this league….)

    Great talking to you, Kit.

Now that Ronny is gone , I have some optimism that we may get to the group stages.

The least we should be aspiring to.

  10. .

Personally l think Ronny Signed Himself for Celtic..

Nobody Else wanted a Job where You could Still Win the League if the Manager was on Garden Leave for the Full Season..

More Informed Managers even if given the Cash knew it would be hard to attack any Player worth his Salt to a One Horse race with Little or No Opposition/Rival..

Without a Decent Rival you don’t need to look over your Shoulder every single time You drop a Point..Making it Nigh on Impossible to Motivate Players week in week out..Causing strange Random results..Peppering the Season

ie Leicester have Played every game since Christmas like a Cup Final..

Where as Celtic have Played most Games as if it was a Semi Final that was a Formality as Everyman and His Dog told them the would not only get to the Final but Win it..

    Reason..Because they get Paid More..

    Ha

i thjink celtics european failures over the last two years has been down to letting Sammi go

Agree about Sammi. An enigma but a key part of our game plan in European games. His range of abilities in that respect not easy to replace in a single player.

Overall, I think we have a strange group of players. Some who bought into the ‘strategy’ and not the club – e.g. the Johansens and Bittons of this world who believed that one good season would take them to the megabucks territory of the EPL; some whose best days are already behind them – e.g. Lustig, Mulgrew, Commons; some who should never have been at he club in the first place e.g. CKR, Cole, Blackett, Janko; and some who’re on loan just biding their time until things happen elsewhere.

I’d much prefer a manager to come in who wants to build a core squad of 7 or 8 players for the next 3-5 years. But that’s very tough to do within the current ‘strategy’.

Not sure where we go from here unless the strategy changes.

  13. Take note of the empty seats Lawwell and Bankier you clowns, no doubt there will be a begging letter with the season ticket renewals we get in a couple of weeks
