Freaky seven goal Europeans

699
Seven goal scores are remarkably scarce in football but for the second time this month we look ahead to a Champions League opponent who has recently scored that number in a single game.  Helsingborgs went to town on Swedish Allsvenskan side Kalmar yesterday.  Kalmar are struggling in the league this season but were faring better in Europe until Young Boys of Berne overturned a Europa League deficit against them on Thursday.

Form appears to vary widely in the Swedish league, not idea circumstances for placing a bet.

Midweek friendly internationals will not help Neil Lennon’s preparations as Celtic face the third of five games on the road in the Highlands on Saturday before heading to Sweden, especially as the early season injury count rises inexplicably.  I would caution against risking too much on a bet on the Ross County game for this reason.  County’s remarkably year-long run without a league defeat might stretch another week.

The first issue of CQN Magazine of the new season is due to be with you soon.  If you would like to contribute an article to a future edition let me know, articles@cqnmagazine.co.uk.  Final shout also for anyone who would like to advertise to the same address.

Bold indeed. Clean new look but it’s too narrow on desktop browser. How about putting the share button under the timestamp. And reducing the left and right margins a wee bit.

Need to go see what it looks like on my phone now….

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes insists that the club’s commercial interests in Asia will have no bearing on any further signings this summer.

A hugely successful pre-season tour of the Far East, coupled with the signing of Ji-Sung Park from Manchester United, has allowed Fernandes to successfully establish the QPR brand in Asia.

The Rs have also shown interest in Celtic’s South Korean midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung, and face competition from Arsenal to secure the 23-year-old’s services.

However, the chairman insists that manager Mark Hughes will have the final say on any more new arrivals.

“We’re not going to sign a player if it doesn’t make sense to the manager,” Fernandes said. “I own an airline which flies to Korea and is having huge growth in Korea, but that’s a bonus – a fantastic icing on the cake.

“Let me make it clear that we’re not going to sign a player just because it’s good for AirAsia or our sponsors.”

On the subject of Black – is this really the direction Scotland are going in under Levein?

The rest of the World (and even a goodly number of Scottish clubs) are trying, within their means, to step back from sheer physicality in favour of ball on the carpet passing skills.

This selection (never mind the Sevco / Division 3 links, which are just pathetic) – just the selection itself – of Black really is desperate. It is such a ‘hun-mentality’, presbyterian (small ‘p’) selection (J Greig / few caps for silky-skilled Celts / Sandy Jardine !!).

Some of the play from Dundee Utd., St Mirren and Kilmarnock and others (not Aberdeen, unfortunately, due to oor Craig) has been very pleasing on the eye and quite progressive.

Yet here we are – our National Manager deigns to go down to Division 3 – not to select some amazing young hot-shot talented buzz-bomb on the way up, but to select a common, ten-a-penny clugger. Truly pathetic selection – finished with Levein.

All I can say is, Jeeezz-oh!!

Absolutely spot on …….. I am a Celtic Supporter with Irish roots but there are many Celtic fans who are purely Scottish……this is where the ‘inclusive’ element comes from…….we should not be criticising anyone for their opinions on CQN, as long as their opinions are not abusive …… Simples
