While the postponement of today’s Premiership game against Dundee was inevitable, Brendan Rodgers and the players will be far from happy not participating in a game they prepared for. For the manager, in particular, this of one of the two games he could deploy Marvin Compper before heading to Ibrox a week on Sunday.
Compper signed his Celtic contact in December but it will be March before he wears the hoops for the first time. His experience would be invaluable at Ibrox next week, but on the back of only one game, and that against lower league opposition?
I don’t know the player but without further evidence, I’d stick with Ajer and Simonovic.

Hearing a strong rumour that CELTIC are interested in “saving” a cash strapped English 1st division club AND that the Football Association are very much open to Celtics “intervention”……..it’s what I’m hearing
Trooncelt
I wish! I know big Neil ,his bruv Peter lurks on here now and again.hh
The red tights story from mwd was some sort of disturbing confessional.
I immediately tried to unforget it.

Rochdale Celtic??
Strong rumour that a 5th placed English premier club are buying Celtic as a route to the champions league.
31003
Ha, so that’s why the club are hoarding money, and here’s me thinking they just liked looking at the balance sheet :-)

31003,
That would make my night, my month, my year, as long as we could remain at Celtic Park. We could work out way through the leagues.
hearing a rumour that injured Neymark is joining us….based on hee haw ;-))

Fleetwood Celtic, handy for The Fair:))
Robert Thomson or ‘Bertie of the Celtic’ as written on his gravestone at the Abbey Cemetary, Johnstone or Elderslie depending on whom you ask ;-)
Played a significant part in Scottish Cup final wins for hoope scoring a late, late last kick of the ball equaliser to force a replay v the Mothers in 1931 and also scored a few in the 1933 final ( dates are approx;-)
Supplier of crosses to The Mermaid and part of that legend’s story.
He was a good bhoy but some decided he was a notorious bad bhoy due to his fondness for the gargle… take your pick.
His great nephew or nephew is none other then Richard Thomson of Fairport Convention fame, who is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Ask Jimmy Hendrix ….
He is also the proud owner of the CQN Jock Stein t-shirt ( or sloppy joe) presented to him by Mrs Saltires after his gig ar Cropredy Festival last summer.
Richard wears a black beret with a wee Celtic badge during live performances and somewhere there is footage of him on you tube playing a gig in France, resplendent in the hoops.
Alec Thomson was a player too, must learn more about him.

*as a lhad I worked in Elderslie and Kilbarchan in early 1967, going from site to site periodically with a couple of Dumbarton bluenoses, loved passing by the Braveheart statute and then the Celtic pub in Johnstone, used tae say it was like the Celtic right wing, Johnstone and Wallace, much tae their disdain.
In my life I’ve worked in some bluenose areas including brigton, but Kilbarchan took the biscuit. Had a pal over here that said he played for St Conval’s BG there in a cup tie and they had tangerine lilies tied tae the goalposts.

I’m inclined to make a mistake or two but making a mistake in all three is bad, especially John Thomson, thanks for the correction,I’ll remember the next time to check the correct spelling, thanks for the info.
*wasn’t actually trying tae correct you but its a name that may have changed over the years as there’s an earlier Billy Thomson played for us (1895) but later on both Alan and Josh had the “p” in their name
Saltires, I hope the Philipines are treating you well.
Bertie Thomson’s grave is very close to my grandad’s grave .
My dad showed me after your Gran was buried.
He seemed more chuffed with seeing Bertir’s grave rather his dad’s.

So Dundee match could take place next Tue/ Wed ?
Now that operation disrupt Brendan has gone into overdrive there’s one way to put Jim Shyte and his Hun mates in place. Next time Brendan is asked about Arsenal or however, he should just answer with “I am not in the slightest bit interested, don’t ask about it, I’m going nowhere, I am quite happy here, print that and put it on record”. Could do without another MON saga. I lived in Dublin during the MON era and there was not a week went by when the free state sops that thought they were journalists linked him with the Liverpool job. That reminded me of one of the things I hated about living and working in Dublin, the amount of Liverpool and Man Utd fans that thought they knew everything about football and their dislike of Celtic. Personally I thought it was a jealousy thing.
Living in the north east of Scotland I’ve had to put up with the most terrible weather today….
If I’d known that feqin cold shoulder king thing was gonna be a pestilence like this…. I’d have bought a new coat….. ?
Yes the newspapers were right, snow was general all over Ireland ,it was falling softly on The Bog Of Allen and further westwards, falling softly into the dark mutinous Shannon waves

It hasn’t been the Free State since 1937 but never let facts interfere with your perceptions.
As for the Liverpool Man Utd thing I wouldn’t get too bothered about it.
The same people wouldn’t cross the street to watch a league of Ireland team.
Part of the anti Celtic thing is post colonial self loathing of course which was helped by the section 31 mentality that existed in the former free state for many years from 70s to 90s.
EM- looked for replay info , no joy, the Dundee game looks a cert for Tue/Wed HH

What is your opinion of those lines? I used to read them positively but have had read a few:things which suggest otherwise.

I think its a good sign when a story can get people arguing over what it means or what they think will happen next etc.
Sometimes a story is just a story.
