‘GIVE CELTIC TITLE NOW,’ McMANUS

FORMER Celtic skipper Stephen McManus reckons the Hoops should be handed the Premiership trophy now – after only THIRTEEN games!
The champions, looking for a sixth successive crown, came back from trailing 2-0 at half-time to stage a thrilling recovery as they overwhelmed Motherwell 4-3 at Fir Park on Saturday.
And the Well central defender insisted: “Listen, for me the league is done. Who else is going to win it?

“Momentum is massive in football and Celtic have got that. When you’re playing in a good team that wins football matches you can’t wait for the next one to come.

“That’s what Brendan Rodgers has got just now – the players are buying into everything their manager says and you can see that. He’s a top, top manager.

”Of course, Celtic can be got at. You’ve seen our qualities, you’ve seen Celtic’s qualities, you’ve seen our frailties, you’ve seen theirs.
“The only thing we wanted to do was give Celtic a good game. They have been excellent this season, domestically and in Europe.
“Brendan has them playing extremely well. That’s what you get with a top manager.
“We worked tremendously hard, were brave in possession, we kept it and made chances.

“After being 2-0 and 3-2 up, we’d have been bitterly disappointed to have drawn the game, so to lose it right at the death was tough going.
“Brendan is very good and you can see that in the way his team is set up.
“In the second-half, when they changed their shape, we found it a wee bit harder to cope. That’s when they won the points.”
Celtic are eight points clear of Sevco Rangers with three games in hand. Only Inverness Caley Thistle, with a stoppage-time equaliser, have managed to take league points from them.
The Parkhead men can go 11 points ahead of Mark Warburton’s side if they beat Partick Thistle at Fihill on Friday – a day before the Ibrox outfit take on Hearts in Govan.
