Greenock, Argyle St and what Celtic Movement is all about

949

We are only two days away from the 9 in a row CQN Open, which again takes place at Aberdour Golf Club in Fife.  This year our guest of honour is Lisbon Lion, Willie Wallace.  We have already raised over £2000 from a shirt auction and raffle (thank you very much to all who participated) but we have a quick opportunity for you to win a signed Celtic strip in a raffle, ending on Saturday.

Tickets cost £1, if you can afford £1, get involved here.  Proceeds go towards 1254125, which is a crucial part of orientating the Celtic Movement in the direction of our founding fathers.

Willie Wallace will be at the Celtic Store, Argyle St, for late night shopping, from 5.30-7.30 pm tomorrow (Thursday) night.  Where you can buy a signed copy of his book and have a chat with the man himself.  Bring a camera.

Immediately after leaving the Celtic Store tomorrow Willie and Brogan Rogan (and a pile of books) are heading to the Greenock Celtic Supporters’ Club for a CQN Question and Answer evening.  Entry costs £2 (all of which is going to our charity causes).  DON’T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!!

I know many of you have read Brogan Rogan but if you’ve not seen him and Willie Wallace in action, get along tomorrow, it will be another classic Celtic night.  Tickets are available at the door.

Thanks to everyone who helped organise all of these events, more on that later.

  1. So, CharlotteFakes…

What’s the thinking? Anyone else getting a little nervous about the provenance of all this material?

Who is he/she? Is it Whyte? Is it an elaborate plot to toxify information material to an ongoing court case?

Or is it simply stolen, as I believe Alex Thomson has suggested?

More importantly, what is the motive here – who benefits from this material being leaked and why would someone have the desire to do it (it looks like a pretty laborious task?).

Much as I’m interested in the material being churned out, I think we should be asking some questions about where exactly it is coming from and what is the motive in leaking it…

  2. Regarding the MSM being unable to touch something if it has been taken illegally –

There must be many ways to ask the right questions to the villains in order to get answers without the suggestion of using Charlotte. The answers (or silence) should then provide the MSM (ahem) more ammo further down the line to tell the true story.

    Build the case.

    Hi Ghuys & Ghirls

I’ve had a great weekend playing golf Sat and Sun with fellow CQN’ers today I played a golf tie at my local club and beat my opponent 3 and 2.

Picture the scene, I was dressed in the obligatory GREEN and WHITE my opponent brown brogues blue troosers blue jumper and blue shirt was the perfect gentleman.

No talk of fitba(surprise surprise) the game was nip and tuck We talked and I was telling him about my Bhoy who plays in goal for Albion Rovers and how refreshing it was for me to visit old grounds like Arbroath, East Fife etc etc.

Just as he was lining up his putt on the 14th I told him My Bhoy must have taken his footie skills from his Granda Charlie who played for Celtic and Belfast Celtic.

Cue a steamie nine feet past and an easy win for Paddybhoy.

Amazing poor guy fell to pieces and Paddybhoy has had an amazing week of preparation for Aberdour.

I’m now singing in my head. Here we go for two in a row

here we go for two in a row

here we goo for two in a rooow

here we go for two in a row

Looking forward to seeing all the golfers on Frii and the non golfers on Fri night.

It has been an enormous pleasure to have been the CQN golf champ 2012/2013

and the best bit is nobody can take that away. Hail Hail Paddybhoy

  4. 67heaven..,

You’ll be glad to know, your preference that everyone behaves like a hun, and accepts their place in the knowledge that whatever the board decide is always going to be best for the club, just like the huns, not a word of dissent has been uttered today.

We can proudly say we are just like the hun, unquestioning obedience is the order of the day

  5. The Comfortable Collective

Many thanks for your last. Now it is clear where this skulduggery is coming from. Not that it makes it any the more palatable. It is just a bag of horrocks.

And, if hen1riks post at 2058 turns out to be true, then I think I will have to increase my vino intake this evening and then go and lie down in a dark room.

  6. Havent really posted re Deidco licence etc.

But when the old sectarian singing issue was boiling David Taylor managed to make his way to Uefa.

Having worked with him in previous employ he was well in with Govt etc

Im convinced Dallas and he are placed there for a reason.

Eg when there are ‘difficult’ Scottish Fitba issues to deal with.

  7. adi…,

When Dallas was given his place I suggested to all our overseas BHOYS on here that they get their local pals to remind their local football authorities why he left the Scottish scene, is suggested they got all their local pals to write in their local dialect to UEFA and object to an offensive sectarian being given a position in UEFA, I never got much of a response and I put that down to being unpopular :o) but it recently entered my mind that most of our overseas BHOYS are sad friendless computer geeks who never actually go out and make friends :oD))))

  8. Italiabhoy,

I think we need a cqn crime board (a la The Wire, The Usual Suspects etc) to see who could possibly be doing it Pics of all the people with lines drawn between each meet, recording, fraud – I jest, to see who is behind it all.

One person only (surely) has been recording the conversations. Is it someone else who is releasing? Who has access to all the files and emails?

It’s like nothing else in real life I have ever heard of.

Embarrassing, if not a little fun.

  9. unionbearBhind on

I notice one of charlottes newer uploads has been taken off scribe anybody know why?

    HH

  10. MajesticHartson,

Yes. Reminds me of the series of The Wire when McNulty invented the fake serial killer. It’s that bizarre.

The recordings are clearly Whyte’s… his is the voice closest to the mic, and he is far and away the most guarded speaker.

But the emails? The Media House stuff…? Could be Whyte I suppose but not sure what the purpose of it all is. And there must be easier ways to get journos interested in it – he as close to a few I’m sure a paper would run with some of this if Whyte physically gave it to them…

This secretive leaking just means no-one – not even Alex Thomson – will touch it.

  11. Starry…, at least the overseas BHOYS have got a bit of an excuse with the language barrier :o)

And I’m still unpopular, datum :oD))))

  12. Starry…,

Now I think you are just at it

I bet in Arabic they’ve got another word for it the same as Hebrew most likely :o)

  13. The Comfortable Collective,

Just catching up and caught you post re: SFA Licence numbers, or lack of them.

Very interesting, I don’t think I have had a Certificate, Licence or Membership that did not have a unique number associated with it.

However if you are correct and there is no unique Licence number then the process to get a SFA Licence transfered, if it is indeed possible should be investigated.

@cqn Paul, @DarrylBroadfoot says Ogilvie was unanimously voted back in. How do you respond to that?

    May25th1967 ‏@May25th1967 Protected account 4m

Ogilvie unanimously voted back in. Yes, Celtic voted for him. Confirmed by Darryl Broadfoot. That’s a real slap in the face.

@cqn What’s the point in all your blogs lambasting Sevco when Celtic end up voting for Ogilvie?

However no one had given any evidence that their club had voted for CO to be re elected. I thought the simplest thing to do was to ask the SFA how the vote had went so I emailed them last night. Today I received this reply

David, in response to your question the President was unanimously re-elected by all members.

    Many thanks

    Darryl

Good work, Pilgrim, and many thanks. Now I know exactly where I stand and what to do. I must turn my back on Scottish football entirely, since not one single member club of the SFA had the gumption even to abstain. So much for Lawell’s “dignified” silence. Has he bought himself a blazer and some brown brogues, by any chance?

But just think, I (and my money) was there for the taking by any west of Scotland club that was prepared to do the right thing. But not a single club in the whole of Scotland! Not even one. Truly amazing. Now where did I put those golf clubs?

I’m not a golfer but am sitting here howling at your story

    Superb!!!

  17. Noticed some chit-chat on the Celtic onesie earlier on…

It reminded me of a story a female colleague once told me when she discovered I was a Celtic Fan.

She was chatted up and asked out by a Charming man one evening who asked her out, she agreed to a date.

When the said ghentlmen turned up he was weearing his FULL Celtic kit, strangely enuff she was not impressed and no urther dates occurred.

Just saying, if you have a very particular lady and a hot date the Kit &\or the onesie might be best avoided.

Not like you average urbane Male CQNer need advise from me, but there’s some very odd ladies oot there.

@unseenhand1888 factually incorrect. Celtic DID NOT vote to re-elect Ogilvie.

  20. crc,

So can we expect a statement from the board to counter the official SFA version of events ?

  21. fanadpatriot on

We all love Celtic but what does Celtic mean to us.Is Celtic the magical team of our bhoyhoods or the business empire that some would have us think is the utopia.

I am sorry to say but I think the ” custodians “of Celtic and me are drifting miles and miles apart.I hate the “Old Firm” this present board appear to revere and crave for its return..

  23. Hen1rik, Pilgrim – Funny how Broadfoot replied so promptly to that question but he and Regan etc have ignored many other similar requests for transparency in other matters. Hazard a guess that he knew by confirming unanimity on vote meant that Celtic fans would be unhappy with their club…..lets try him on a couple of other things such as granting of licence and investigation into Green and Whyte working together and see if he is as prompt and open…..

  24. So,darryls talking again. A very strategic answer to his selected question. Stirring it up a bit.

While you’re in a talkative mood how’s about telling us us who gave the go ahead for sevco’s euro licence. darryl? Are you still there?
