Greenock, Argyle St and what Celtic Movement is all about

949

We are only two days away from the 9 in a row CQN Open, which again takes place at Aberdour Golf Club in Fife.  This year our guest of honour is Lisbon Lion, Willie Wallace.  We have already raised over £2000 from a shirt auction and raffle (thank you very much to all who participated) but we have a quick opportunity for you to win a signed Celtic strip in a raffle, ending on Saturday.

Tickets cost £1, if you can afford £1, get involved here.  Proceeds go towards 1254125, which is a crucial part of orientating the Celtic Movement in the direction of our founding fathers.

Willie Wallace will be at the Celtic Store, Argyle St, for late night shopping, from 5.30-7.30 pm tomorrow (Thursday) night.  Where you can buy a signed copy of his book and have a chat with the man himself.  Bring a camera.

Immediately after leaving the Celtic Store tomorrow Willie and Brogan Rogan (and a pile of books) are heading to the Greenock Celtic Supporters’ Club for a CQN Question and Answer evening.  Entry costs £2 (all of which is going to our charity causes).  DON’T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!!

I know many of you have read Brogan Rogan but if you’ve not seen him and Willie Wallace in action, get along tomorrow, it will be another classic Celtic night.  Tickets are available at the door.

Thanks to everyone who helped organise all of these events, more on that later.

    KOJO,

Why are we playing Brentford etc?

Jock Stein was asked by Scott Symon how Celtic were so confident since he had taken over Stein’s reply was that he painted 11 dustbins in oldco colours and the hoops won by a barrowload. Symon tried the same at Ibrox but the dustbins won 3-1. The old ones are still good. HH

Hope that isn’t the new top. I like only traditional hoops. Should go for no numbers or names on the back and go back to lions style shorts with numbers and white or hooped socks.

Also go to shamrock strip for the away top with a third strip of all green.

Won’t be buying a new top for anyone if that style is adopted.

    Hands off our hoops.

Celtic have just lost three forwards. There is room for both Tony Watt and at least one other. It’s a squad game these days – expecially if we have European football.

  6. Not overly impressed with the new hoops top.

    Might grow on me ‘tho.

Bring back the all green top – have fond memories of it from the 60s.

    HH!!

Re Celtic’s 4m bid for Hull. Does that include the emu?

  8. Anthony Stokes won’t be the last high profile footballer to get involved in a night club incident, I seem to remember even the great Roy Keane having similar problems as a young man. Stokes showed his quality with a brilliant display in the Cup final and the last thing he needs is this sort of publicity.

Regarding the new strip, from what I’ve seen it reminds me of a rugby jersey. I prefer the traditional hoops.

If Hooper goes to Hull it’s definitely for the money and the the 4mil price offered is a joke by EPL standards.

  9. Good evening,

Amadeus is pleased to inform you that this week is going to be very interesting. One thinks of a house of cards and a howling wind.

What will be sweet is the disillusion about to happen regarding the Sevco hero, Monsieur Green (the wording there is significant).

To any lurkers, you deserve all you are going to get. I did not think I could the Sevconian “culture” any more vile than I oredviously did, but you have surpassed yourselves.

    Onwards and upwards!

Doc, your forgetting Tinkerbell, she’s a fairy and can fly!

  12. riddle me this, when can you not mention that which can not be mentioned? Answer, when you live in a quasi-police-state. But the truth will out!

  13. Hull’s miserable offer shows you the ineptitude of their equivalent of PL.

To think that a CL club of Celtic’s stature need their pennies shows you how far away from real life they are.

A stupid little club in a very ordinary and boring league.

  14. Dinner calling, and discovered peppermint tea, what’s not to like about this holiday lark

Thanks to the CQNr who pointed this out this morning. Well worth watching if you can.

Auldheid-would be interesting to see ,who at UEFA rubber stamped the huns licence?

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++

They did more than rubber stamp it. The question is why and what were they told by SFA to allow them to give it free passage?

  21. What’s happening to facebook.had 40odd posts in the last four hours,I can’t even work out if their for me.

  22. All this talk of The Stone Roses and The Who , is nobody going to see the mighty Neil Young and Crazy Horse tomorrow night ? surely not just me..

  23. !!Bada Bing!! on

auldheid-might be an idea to ask questions at the UEFA end,as there seems a wee bit of reluctance here for some strange reason….

  24. Exactly so! Which takes us back to the question of whether there is a different (new) (SFA) registration number for Oldco and Newco. Anyone know?

Regan has spoken about the “transfer of membership”.

Now if the membership was “transferred” as Regan says, why are “Rangers” now associate members, when previously they were full members…???
