Greenock, Argyle St and what Celtic Movement is all about

949

We are only two days away from the 9 in a row CQN Open, which again takes place at Aberdour Golf Club in Fife.  This year our guest of honour is Lisbon Lion, Willie Wallace.  We have already raised over £2000 from a shirt auction and raffle (thank you very much to all who participated) but we have a quick opportunity for you to win a signed Celtic strip in a raffle, ending on Saturday.

Tickets cost £1, if you can afford £1, get involved here.  Proceeds go towards 1254125, which is a crucial part of orientating the Celtic Movement in the direction of our founding fathers.

Willie Wallace will be at the Celtic Store, Argyle St, for late night shopping, from 5.30-7.30 pm tomorrow (Thursday) night.  Where you can buy a signed copy of his book and have a chat with the man himself.  Bring a camera.

Immediately after leaving the Celtic Store tomorrow Willie and Brogan Rogan (and a pile of books) are heading to the Greenock Celtic Supporters’ Club for a CQN Question and Answer evening.  Entry costs £2 (all of which is going to our charity causes).  DON’T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!!

I know many of you have read Brogan Rogan but if you’ve not seen him and Willie Wallace in action, get along tomorrow, it will be another classic Celtic night.  Tickets are available at the door.

Thanks to everyone who helped organise all of these events, more on that later.

It’s actually boring now watching the MSM scrabble around every day to print their GoodNewsBluenoseBible!!

Whatever happening to Challs Green? Has he shot the craw for good now?

Try 6 days but with a day off on the bevvy and none of this resting up in the comforts of B&Bs or swanky hotels!!

  4. From the statement on the minis website

“We will adjust our expectations for the new season accordingly but will still be focused on the playing side of the business. Our financial deficit can, in part, be attributed to our worst league finish in over 30 years last season. This had a significant direct impact on the business. Other factors that hit revenues include the absence of Rangers Football Club from the SPL and significantly increased stadium costs particularly in relation to the Main Stand.

The biggest threat to the club at present however is hesitation and inaction. We hope that those supporters who have purposely held off will reconsider and make the decision to back the club in the best way possible in order that we can meet our targets.”

Hmmmm did I not read on this blogthat overall attendances were not that much different over the season for most clubs… So it’s all because the Devonians ain’t in the league ( 2x 10k away support) and nothing to do with Lithuanian banks, and a shoite home team ….. Pfft hell mend them

This Young Scottish Winger Could Do A Job At Newcastle

This is another article in our series of pinpointing young players in Europe, who could potentially be good acquisitions for Newcastle this summer or in the future, and today we focus on Celtic’s 21 year-old winger James Forrest, who has played 7 times for Scotland.

    James Forrest – 21 year-old Celtic winger

James was born in Prestwick and joined the Celtic Youth Academy at the age of 13, and has been at Celtic ever since.

The 5’9″ right footed right-winger signed an initial four-year contract with Celtic in August of 2009, and he made his debut for Celtic in May of 2010, when he was 18, coming on as a late substitute against Motherwell, and scored a goal.

Since then James has played 99 times for Celtic with 17 goals and 18 assists, but it’s hard to judge him on those figures, since the Scottish Premier League has slumped to the 24th rated league in Europe, a drop of six places since Rangers left.

Last season James played 29 times for Celtic with four goals and eight assists, and the youngster can play on either wing or as an out-and-out striker.

He made his Scottish international debut in May of 2011 in the match against the Republic of Ireland in the World Cup, and in January of that year he signed a new five-year contract with the Scottish powerhouse, so he is contracted to Celtic through 2016.

And in January 2012, he was named one of the 13 players to watch in 2012 by FIFA.

His style is that of some of some of the classic Scottish wingers of the past – he has good speed and dribbling skills, and can beat his man and get the ball over into the box.

James prefers playing on the right-wing but he is a versatile player, and here’s another youngster who is performing very well for his club at the moment.

    What do you think?

  7. The Independent Reviewer of ASA Adjudications who like Minty is a Sir, has accepted our request for a review.

This means that UEFA will be asked their view on whether they are the same club or not.

BRT&H is going to assist in outlining the SFA position and he also points out that the “club” is liable for the payments under the wee tax case as per Charlotte’s recent revelations. So if the holding company is different to the club then the club should be paying?

We will also help the The Independent Reviewer of ASA Adjudications by providing clarification on the position of the panel at the London Stock Exchange and also the European Club Association.

If the Horribles were confident about the future they would not have appointed Walt as Chairman.

I appreciate all the energy expended on here about CO, 5 way agreements and the nefarious nepotism of the SFA as I remain confident that the Horribles have learned nothing from recent events and are well set on the ole road to ruin agane.

Surely declaring an investor like this is against LSE policy and amounts to tipping off?
