Greenock, Argyle St and what Celtic Movement is all about

949

We are only two days away from the 9 in a row CQN Open, which again takes place at Aberdour Golf Club in Fife.  This year our guest of honour is Lisbon Lion, Willie Wallace.  We have already raised over £2000 from a shirt auction and raffle (thank you very much to all who participated) but we have a quick opportunity for you to win a signed Celtic strip in a raffle, ending on Saturday.

Tickets cost £1, if you can afford £1, get involved here.  Proceeds go towards 1254125, which is a crucial part of orientating the Celtic Movement in the direction of our founding fathers.

Willie Wallace will be at the Celtic Store, Argyle St, for late night shopping, from 5.30-7.30 pm tomorrow (Thursday) night.  Where you can buy a signed copy of his book and have a chat with the man himself.  Bring a camera.

Immediately after leaving the Celtic Store tomorrow Willie and Brogan Rogan (and a pile of books) are heading to the Greenock Celtic Supporters’ Club for a CQN Question and Answer evening.  Entry costs £2 (all of which is going to our charity causes).  DON’T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!!

I know many of you have read Brogan Rogan but if you’ve not seen him and Willie Wallace in action, get along tomorrow, it will be another classic Celtic night.  Tickets are available at the door.

Thanks to everyone who helped organise all of these events, more on that later.

Gershon & Miku were loans so returned to their parent club. Rogne & McCourt are our out of contract players this summer and the assumption is they’ll leave. There was a report last week that Lassad’s contract was terminated but no confirmation since. Any other departures (other than youngsters being released) will be for a transfer fee.

  4. personally i’m glad CO is still president; so when the preverbial hits the fan he is still in the firing line. look at the ex managers of the banks in the city, all their corruption has been exposed but because they have moved on and no longer represent the company they cannot be touched, running of into the sunset with everybody else’s money.

That’s the third time in as many weeks I have heard that Goncalves is a target for us mate. Think he might do a job for us.

Murphy is gone too and I think we said that Lassad had been freed from his last year of contract.

Plays wide or off a striker, maybe the reason we didn’t pursue Russell. 8 goals in 16 games for St Mirren last season isn’t too bad either.

You could be right on the reason no pursuit of JR. Think he would score a few for us, thought he done well when playing against us last season.

  10. Bhoys, thanks again for the birthday wishes yesterday, I had a cracking night at hamilton last hight, made all the better by betting King of Paradise at 11 to 1 and getting the placepot up for the first time in about 6 months, cheers

  11. I see a few in the current SFL complaining that over 100 years of history will be lost. So The Rangers will follow their predecessors in that their biggest win will be a defunct trophy.

Mind you, won’t it just be the same league but run by a different company??

  12. Kayal,

IMO £5 million + for Hooper plus a sell on clause would be a great bit of business.

Add your namesake and possibly Forster decent bit of cash for Neil Lennon to play with this window.

I’m sure JP and the scouts have been informed well before now that Hopper will be away and to be looking for a similar type of goalscorer.

Looks like Balde will be first striker bought. I expect at least another one, depending on CL another on deadline day. Replace Hooper, Miku, Lassad and who kows what is happening with Stokes.

    I like Stokes, useful player.

Think a centre mid left back and centre half should be a priority as well.

  13. Good morning all! I’m looking forward to the Greenock Celtic Club tonight for the Q & A session with Willie Wallace and Brogan Rogan. Should be great !!!

  14. Going to be out all day so probably won’t get another chance to post …

See some of you tomorrow at the gowf. It;s going to be another great CQN day – and evening. Looking forward to watching some highly skilled golfers at work … and to hearing some fine speeches later on.

I’ll be the one in green … with the camera.

  18. Markderrybhoy, hope everything goes well for your boy, will say a prayer for him

Thoughts are with you. Even though you say everything will be fine, when they go into that room, you feel so helpless. Me and my wife were both in tears when our son went in for 2 minor ops in the past.

    God Bless

I think, unfortunately, that Wanyama is most likely to be sold. Hooper next likely with Forster only if a stupid offer comes in. Hope Stokes stays and we sign another attacking player, who can play wide, to go along with Balde. Agree we need centre half and back up left back, only need another central mid if more than 1 leaves. We have a development squad packed with central midfielders (Twardyk, Irvine, McGregor), they should be given their opportunity in domestic games.

  21. Good luck wee Robbie.

Plenty of treats in store for you wee man.

    Prayers said mark…

  22. Had a look at the weather forecast For the Aberdour area, I think you should bring your wet suit tomorrow, if the foecast is correct, it will rain from 8.00am until yon time..

  23. Genoa

Decent few players in that team.

Andreas Granqvist (Johann will know all about him)

Hope all the golfers caddies etc have a great day.
