Greenock, Argyle St and what Celtic Movement is all about

949

We are only two days away from the 9 in a row CQN Open, which again takes place at Aberdour Golf Club in Fife.  This year our guest of honour is Lisbon Lion, Willie Wallace.  We have already raised over £2000 from a shirt auction and raffle (thank you very much to all who participated) but we have a quick opportunity for you to win a signed Celtic strip in a raffle, ending on Saturday.

Tickets cost £1, if you can afford £1, get involved here.  Proceeds go towards 1254125, which is a crucial part of orientating the Celtic Movement in the direction of our founding fathers.

Willie Wallace will be at the Celtic Store, Argyle St, for late night shopping, from 5.30-7.30 pm tomorrow (Thursday) night.  Where you can buy a signed copy of his book and have a chat with the man himself.  Bring a camera.

Immediately after leaving the Celtic Store tomorrow Willie and Brogan Rogan (and a pile of books) are heading to the Greenock Celtic Supporters’ Club for a CQN Question and Answer evening.  Entry costs £2 (all of which is going to our charity causes).  DON’T FORGET YOUR CAMERA!!

I know many of you have read Brogan Rogan but if you’ve not seen him and Willie Wallace in action, get along tomorrow, it will be another classic Celtic night.  Tickets are available at the door.

Thanks to everyone who helped organise all of these events, more on that later.

“Our fans now have more reason to buy

    season tickets because there’s a play-off

    route to the top division.

“The likelihood is that six or seven of the 10

clubs will now be competing right up until the

last game to either move up or stay up. That

will be brilliant for the fans and the game.”

  5. BRTH if your around , from earlier.

What was the original SFA definition of a” club ” compared to the new definition .

If they have changed the definition now to stop other clubs trying the same scam RFC are doing then surely they must be challenged.

  6. A hush of silence from the jambo’s in the office as a Hibee walks the length of the office with the end is nigh sign on A3 paper.

  7. When Traynor said that they had been endorsed by “the panel at the London Stock Exchange” as the same club, what was he referring to?

I thought I’d ask the panel at the London Stock Exchange and put a few questions to them.

Their Head of Press is away to get me some answers.

  8. Blantyretim.

I was fine until I saw that forecast, I’m not golfing, but there’s nothing better than the sun shining all day. Just picked up my long distance glasses today, their tinted for the sunny days, so I’ll be wearing sun glsses all the time now, posing basket.

    Guys

here is a copy of the whole resolution changing the definition of “club”

RESOLUTION 3 proposed by the SFA Board

That the Articles of Association of the Scottish FA be and are hereby altered by:-

Inserting within Article 1.1, within the definition of “club” after the words “Article 6” the

    following words:-

“and, except where the context otherwise requires, includes the owner and operator of such

    club”

    Amended Text

“club” means a football club playing Association Football in accordance with the provisions

set out in Article 6 and, except where the context otherwise requires, includes the owner and

    operator of such club;”

So the question is what does that now mean, why did they feel it necessary to change it, and does it now- for the avoidance of doubt mean that if the company who owns or operates the club goes into liquidation then it is the club has been liquidated and is at an end.

Perhaps someone should ask if that was what was always intended by the original wording or is this a change of policy in any way?

You can’t help but think that a decent lawyer would go through the SFA like a dose of salts…

  12. Comedy gold with the banner.

Hibs fans have taken some treatment the last year with the Scottish Cup win.

Some Jambo has put a 5-1 one on his PC.

Not the same impact. They really share traits with their cousins from Glasgow. Their banter is woeful!

    GCT,

    Fantastic news,

First & most important step of the journey safely negotiated.

    Onward & upward.

    Good Luck.

Yes it was as I understand it and I am glad it was– the wording is still woolly but i think it is meant to prevent any dubiety about the difference between club and company.

Starry— I honestly think that legally the SFA was always open to ridicule– the rule or rules should have been updated to keep up with the law and modern management long ago.
