That victory in the cup final would have done the same thing for the defence as a 5-0 would for the attacking players.

Good result tonight in difficult circumstances, but points on the board very valuable at this stage of the season
Very pleased with the result, scoreline deeply flatters Hertz.
Home team raised their game to blood and snotters, but were stripped bollock naked as soon as the football started, and we have a formation and squad, for every game.
Only a question of how many more after Hertz were unpicked with counter attacking ahead of Celtic’s sublime pairing of Jullien and Ajer, who were once again imperious.

Alasdair, we’ve been told that Eddy shot hit defender, then hit Eddy and went forward to Calmac.
I only saw the block.
How the ass ref saw that from the opposite side to the tackle is beyond me. He either was incompetent or wanted it to be off.
On another point.
Ajer was barged from behind by 2 Jambos forcing a corner. We are told he has to be stronger. He didn’t go to ground.
Boot on other foot.
When a Celtic player makes similar challenge at other end the defender always goes down and a free is awarded against Celtic. Happens every single game. They know it will be awarded. Why is that?

NL only trusts three wingers- JF, MJ and ME. Two of those players are left wingers and JF can cover that position too. Only one plays on the right. If JF gets injured we are playing RC on the wing; he is passable but his best position is in the centre, in the same way we wouldn’t play CalMac on the left wing unless in an emergency. We wouldn’t want to have to rely on playing RC on the wing for multiple games.
Of the three wingers he trust, one is on loan and MJ has missed three months of the season and back out injured once again.
The other wingers are not really in the picture- Morgan played through the middle but has not impressed on the wing; Sinclair, Shved, Arzani all seem well out of the picture and will likely not be with the club past the summer.
We have three players for each full back position and all have contributed. We need similar options on the wings (minimum of 2) given injuries, suspensions and just to provide proper competition.
A striker and RW in January please.

We have utilised all of our full backs this year. Two of them have been out for over a month (Boli/Elhamed). All of the additional wingers you mention are completely out of the picture and it’s likely that all of them will be gone in the summer (Sinclair, Morgan, Arzani and Shved).
However, why spend money when we can get negligible interest on our piles of cash.
I thought we were very comfortable tonight and cut through Hearts at will. We were very wasteful with chances but I never once felt nervous.
Hearts gave plenty of effort in the first 20 minutes and the last 20 but were not at the races in the other 50 minutes. Even when they gave effort, their passing and shooting was awful.
No-one was outstanding tonight and no-one had a bad game. We were all around 7 to 8.5 out of 10 and Hearts were all around 5 to 6.
My order of left backs would be the opposite of many here. I’d have Boli- Number 1 with Jonny as back up. Greg Taylor has shown nothing above basic journeyman competence in a Celtic shirt so far- maybe with more time behind him he can bridge the gap between Killie and Celtic.
Boli has speed and penetration supporting left side attacks and has the cover speed to get back. Jonny has big game mentality and never lets us down, even though he is rarely a stand out. Greg Taylor has it all to prove yet- I hope he makes it with us – but he needs to keep fit and imprress the management team to get his chance.
This is a tough month and if we can get 6 points from the home game vs The Sheep and away to a battling St. Mirren, then the game on the 29th will take care of itself.
It could be the start of the gap opening wider.
