    I remember having this conversation when Lenny was the coach, too many training ground injuries, some were saying it’s got so much worse since we went to Lennoxtown, and we didn’t have the same probs at Barrowfield.

     

    I wish I knew, maybes then it could be sorted.

    Hard to see from the stands that Rogic was toiling. Should have been Allan instead of GMS. With the game getting stretched McGregor was actually looking dangerous on the wing. That substitution IMO seemed to end any attacking play.

    Loved the game today.Real blood and guts,after watching the sterile guff from the EPL.Only dissapointment,was no Allan picked from the start,then not brought on as sub.To the spoilt brats on here,who tell us that we should be streets ahead because we are a bigger club,tell that to the Man U,Chelsea fans,who see Leicester sitting way above them,after spending hundreds of millions.We heard you all last season.Result.Won the league by 17 points.So many names you never see during the week,but when we dont win,all on whingeing.Strange that.Aye right.Onwards to Dundee.

    Well that is frankly scandalous pal.

     

    We have tennis players on court for three hours flat out then possibly playing the following day.

     

    Yet these football players are claiming to be tired playing in a team game.

    I only watched on tv. But the decision to replace Rogic changed the flow of play imo.

     

     

    Now in fairness, Tom may have been done, but as some of the posters have pointed out we had the option of Allan slotting in there, rather than moving McGregor into the middle.

     

     

    Sandman highlighted the fact we tried to “see the game out”, with three wingers on the park !

     

     

     

     

    Who thought thta was the thing to do on our bench ?

    I dont think we are actually a million miles away however with Lustig, poor awareness and positioning caused a failed attempted recovery – not a recovery.

     

     

    The opposing player had put himself in such a dominant position that he was (arguably) going to score whether Lustig got a slight touch or not.

     

     

    James Forrest I agree – it was petulant.

     

    Slow motion made it worse and all the more galling.

     

     

    I did make the point that players making basic errors shouldn’t be there – they should be moved on in the next window.

     

     

    That counts for most of this current team.

     

     

    With regards to the manager, believe it or not I made the point to my old man that the team shape in the 1st 10-15 minutes is the way the manager has told his team to play.

     

     

    This stretches right the way back to Strachan, when inferior players lose that shape and discipline and resort to nothing tactics.

     

     

    The manager did his job, the players did not.

     

     

    The stick to beat the manager with is his intransigence from moving away from his Plan A.

     

     

    Most managersake subtle tactical changes during or even throughout matches – to counter against a particular threat.

     

     

    When the momentum has been foiled they revert back.

     

     

    We on the outside are never able to say with any certainty what goes on behind closed doors, a fact many forget, however if Efe Ambrose makes it through another transfer window still a Celtic employee, which is the absolute starting point it becomes almost futile to look at others like Forrest and Lustig who have not improved or shown any capability of performing at the required standard on a consistent (key word) basis.

    Question is this time next year we’re playing the newly promoted team at Ibrox would we be saying hard place to go , not a bad team etc etc. Personally I thought we would be that far ahead these questions wouldn’t be asked .

    ….PFayr supports WeeOscar – some of our displays this season in SPFL have been exceptional. We are trying to do somethg different with the team. Something some of those slaging PL were screaming out for a couple of seasons ago, yet some on here want us to abandon this less than 2 yrs into it.

     

     

    I’ve yet to see 1 post spell out an alternative way forward

    I respect your optimism and Im sure RD would love a 10 year contract

     

    Thing is – and there is no other thing – only one thing

     

    If we do not win the league and give us a chance to compete in Europe the cost to the club – financially (as well as the ridicule) – means we need sell sell sell and then scramble about in the Bosman market

     

     

    So the obvious choice will we win the league ????

     

     

    I am still hopeful – not overconfident – but hopeful

     

    But today and last week has done nothing for my nerves

    You like the competition, it seems to add to your excitement.

     

     

    It’s like watching the snooker when Steve Davis was too good for the rest, I suppose. Back then I much preferred a match between say John Virgo and Eddie Charlton, simply because the (relatively) poor play meant mistakes and chances ie competition.

     

     

    It’s no fun watching Celtic plummet. And I get we are still in the 2 cups and Top the league. But surely you see the lowering in our standards ?

    A belated Merry Christmas to everyone!

     

     

    Had hoped that someone would have given Ronnie the Big Book of Coaching Part Two but on the evidence of today that didn’t happen!

     

    We are far too easily brushed off the ball all over the park!

     

    The decision to take off Rogic from his central position and replace him with McGregor, at a difficult venue whilst trying to see out the game, was yet another poor choice by the coach and his staff!

     

    The team lacks belief and that dreaded old cliche – character!

     

    Without SB we have absolutely no leaders on the park. Hearts are not very good yet we had no-one capable of grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck and making things happen for us.

     

    The day that big McManus scored two in the last few minutes seems like lifetime away now!

     

    We have none of that desire to win that Celtic teams are renowned for!

    My post was tongue in cheek, perhaps you knew that.

     

    I would imagine we will win the league again,

     

    Qualifying for the group stages of the champions league is the benchmark we need.

     

    Ronny had blown 2 glorious opportunities to get there

     

    it will be harder next year and he will fail again. If peter lawwell is anxious to protect his bonus he must be looking for a new manager now. Ronny will win the league but to let him tilt and European windmills again would be ludicrous
