And the only thing I would do in this transfer window is take the secateurs to the deadwood that is clogging up the team.

I think we can all agree that we probably haven’t invested very well over the past few years. We have a pretty big squad but too many decent spfl level players who normally wouldn’t get near a title or a celtic first team. I hope we can put some money on the table over the next couple of windows. We really need to get in shape or we won’t be making the champions league groups next year. I fully expect us to come out and win the league, maybe the treble but it’s not a cake walk. This squad has potential but needs a couple of quality players to bring it together.
Watched the game after it was over. I thought we played fairly well. Hearts were allowed to kick us with impunity as I thought. Efe was booked when he was kicked; Ciftgi was booked for a guy failing to jump with him (and Hearts tried to kick him into responding to have him sent off).
After last week, I thought we showed a lot more heart today.
Sure we have serious weaknesses but to draw at Tynecastle without our captain and main goal threat, imo, isn’t a bad result. I’ve seen a lot lot worse (last Saturday being only the latest).
Here’s hoping we get back to the 5-0 beloved of DBBIA. Great to have you back, by the bye.

Ronny is not the only reason we are going backwards . He lost two good central defenders a big miss in any team. But he does not help himself same formation every game players played out of position every game and lessons never learned . Something needs to change at Celtic soon the apathy surrounding the club is frightening but those in charge don’t seem to realise.
By the way, did anyone else notice the wee wink between Nicholson & MacLean at the end.

I would have agreed with that, yet domestically we have only let 2 more goals in, than this time last year with the current makeshift bombscare defence and with CG having a poor season as well.
I would doubt there will be any significant spend in the January window as we’ve already
accumulated players waiting to step into the revolving door. One or two, of whom are even
past their sell by dates.
It’ll hopefully be busy window freeing up wage space, more out on loan, and one or two
incoming including Ryan Christie.

Not for a minute do I think you are a Hun, I actually welcome and respect your views. Passion is great. I also do not see any Huns on here ( green, multicoloured or otherwise )
I see lots of committed Celtic Bhoys and Ghirls who all want the best for our club.
It’s how we achieve that, that we differ.
Anyway my friends in Celtic must rush, sometimes I give Joe Hanson a hard time but my cap goes off to him today for his after game performance. Was much, much, much better than his on field performance.
I am always glad, honoured and proud to be a tim. This year, the next and probably in my next world.

We are a poor team. We have been all season. We have good young players but they are getting no guidance on the park from experienced pros. We have a manager who this season isn’t getting the best out of the resources at his disposal. IMO Alan Stubbs would get more out of the players we have as he would find a formation to get a lot more from them than Ronny’s one system. Not sayI got Ronny should be sacked or Stubbs should replace him, ultimately it’s what’s happening off the pitch that’s leading to the poor product on the pitch.
Off the pitch we have a flawed signing policy that turns up significantly more duds than good players who will contribute to the team, and the the best are sold on at the first opportunity.
We also have a youth set up that has produced very little for the first team for years.

For clarity I have been saying for a year RD is not qualified to improve our team
Because of 2 reasons a) he does not have the strength of character to challenge Lawwel/Park b) he is not experienced enough to manage a club the size of Celtic
One of the following things are going on
a) We have secured a new manager but cannot get him until the summer (example Michael O’neill)
b) We are actively looking for a new manager and we are hopeful of getting one in time to influence the Jan window
c) As a club we are committed to RD and we have no intention of changing him
Now regardless of what option you prefer or what your view is of RD all of the above present a risk
And that risk is not winning the league
If you are referred to on this site as a “happy clapper” I accept and respect your opinion – BUT – the consequences of not winning the league and not having a crack at the CL will mean selling the best players we have and no option of buying any new ones (not that we have done well recently when buying)
So to end my little frustrated ramble – if we do not win the league we are fu–ed
And I am worried that RD will not win us the league
Today did nothing to calm my nervous and yes the paranoia is back

Great game for the neutrals today, plenty of action, some great goals. Typical refereeing performance where the ref played 2 set of rules. Look at the Ciffci booking for using an elbow, about 10 mins earlier Hearts player did the same, result foul to Celtic yet no booking. Efe booked after Hearts player takes him out after the ball had been played. But hey we’re used to this kind of display.
Anyway happy enough with the result and the performance against a decent Hearts team at a venue we have struggled at previously. Given our injury concerns I’m happy tonight, got to say some real nuggets on here at times.
Some of our play was exceptional in the first 30 mins. Overall we played well, how some can call for the manager to go when we’re sitting top of the league and still in 2 cups is simply ridiculous.
I still remember how our support turned against Fergus after swallowing the lies of the MSM, seems there are still a few who believe what they read.
