Helsingborgs indifferent domestic form

791

Helsingborgs IF are sixth after 17 games in the Swedish Allsvenskan, seven points off Elfsborg and Malmo, who ended Scotland’s interest in the Champions League last season.  Our opponents clearly play it tight on the road, they have lost only eight goals away from home, considerably fewer than anyone else in the league (Malmo: 19), although their home goals for and against are not unusually low (scored 14 to Malmo’s 16 at home, conceded nine to Malmo’s one).

Helsingborgs have lost only three league games, fewer than anyone else.  Four draws from nine home games appears to have cost them most ground in the title race.

Celtic can expect to face a tight defence who are well versed at shutting teams out in the second leg in Glasgow where they will need the creative talents of Kris Commons with perhaps Paddy McCourt p[laying a role.  A big European-night atmosphere at Celtic Park will be invaluable.

Been here since last Friday working as a volunteer. Was directing people at coffee & cake on Tuesday night, know what you mean. Got to see all finals, best atmosphere was Mo’s 10k. Got into media box for mens 200m. Been a brilliant experience.

If anyone is unsure of volunteering, I would recommend it for 2014 Comm Games. Free access to all finals etc, people been brilliant.

  4. midfield maestro – Been working in procurement on the olympics for the last 5 years, good to see people getting involved in the volunteering and enjoying it. Seen loads of games-makers on my way to/from work.

Going to the park myself for the hockey 3/4th play-off today, one of my projects was sourcing the blue pitches. GB v Australia, should be a good match.

It was all very middle class but very friendly as I’ve said.

I wanted to sing ‘You’re s*** and you know you are’ at the discus throwers but thought better of it :-)

Well done for volunteering – I got the impression one had to go thru a few interviews and checks ?

    Jesus wept.

Just to be there that night will be something else.

  9. Although it was a great evening, I don’t think I would have been too fussed about going again.

Maybe the price of the tickets and the difficulty in seeing events without using the big screens would be the main factors.

I fancy going to the swimming in the Paralympics although there’s no tickets available at the moment.

There used to be a club we played against who would have liked a blue pitch :-)

  13. PeteThe Beat – Ha! There was a discussion thread about two years ago when Paul67 was pushing artificial pitches for football, at the time I knew the olympic hockey pitches would be blue but it was still unannounced.

it’s quite a major change for hockey, and more artificial pitches will be blue in future as it provides a greater televisual experience. Hence my vehement argument at the time that artificial pitches are not good for football!

Good on the Dandy Dons for putting those banners up,everyone a cracker,it would be good if more fans gave them pelters on their way to games.

The whole gamesmaker thing has been brilliant, not a bad word said, a truly uplifting experience. Everyone involved, except Boris J, deserves a huge pat on the back, or a high 5 from a pink hand(you know them).

    Enjoy the World’s.

I’ve had many great days on the Green, taking in the sights and sounds of the occasion.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good day out, with or without the family.

  21. I’m not really buying into this ‘sell out Saturday’ idea.

But out of interest does anyone know where Albion Rovers are playing today.

Hockey’s not my thing but I enjoyed the Holland NZ game with the shootout.

midfield m – Well done. I don’t live in London – I just do a fair amount of work there. I couldn’t believe the apathy from people who do live there and couldn’t be bothered even trying to get tickets. Now they’re all saying they wished they’d gone.

You showed a million times more initiative.

We should all show up in the hoops for future interviews!

Like yourself have a dodgy back and haven’t played since the CQN outing to Leven last September.

However, we are visiting friends on Sept second in Dalgety bay and will play Aberdour with my mate and his son that afternoon.

    Both huns, canny wait!

I wonder how I’ll noise them up during the golf? Ach, I’ll think of something nearer the time, i’m sure.
