Dropping points today will not affect the destination of the league . We are a mile better than anyone else including you know who . If this game had been played tomorrow , the extra day would have made a massive difference after Wednesday’s exertions .

Tutnbull should start before bernardo. We also lack pace on the flanks in the absence of daizan

  3. Poor game all round, mostly played at walking pace. Hibs would get football banned. Bringing on Turnbull, Forrest, Oh and Johnston to win it shows we were in trouble.

Muir did not influence the result but dear God he influenced the match, giving Hibs phantom free kicks, put simply he’s a cheating Hun

  4. it was not poor poor, we still created chances, just a lack of composure.

    on to wednesday.

  5. nothing in midfield today – I’d have played Palma as a 10 to make a pass or burst through their lines. Our midfield and play in general reeked of mental fatigue – training ground passing and no energy on the ball. As bad as Johnson was at least he was trying to get forward but his body language and attitude is childish and unprofessional.

Take a point after a tough euro match and run of away matches – but I’m concerned about Rodgers selection options up front. Kyogo and Oh together may have helped

  6. Typical post european game. no energy at all. slow and laborious. our bench is poor proven by bringing on turnbull and Forrest. both offered nothing. turnbull showed be punted at Christmas. waste of a jersey.

  7. imo OH will be on the move shortly , followed by MJ , surely Yang and Iwata are a better choice than JF and DT

  8. Usual negative rubbish on here from the usual folk who just love a poor result so they can tell you how clever they are.

  9. Can’t win a game trying to score a goal in 10 minutes, the midfield O Riley apart was shocking side to side wingers that cant beat a player no service to Kyogo, we really need to work out how to play against and beat a deep block the same tactics will be employed on Wednesday night guaranteed.

A special word for David Marshall what an arse you are son, time wasting constantly and would dive in front of a bus against us, against the other mob trundlers from 30 yards beat him.

Celtic 71% possession 21 shots 4 on target fouls 12

HIBS 29% possession 6 shots 1 on target fouls 4

    Remarkable foul score !

  11. Very flat. Can’t be too hard on the team overall for their efforts this week. Bench/squad players aren’t quite up to it.

  12. Pedestrian, poor performance. Team selection questionable after the midweek efforts against a poor opponent well gubbed by our dreadful neighbours last week should have been put to the sword today.

MJ – no football brain; not near Celtic class and should be punted ASAP-

  13. Poor.

Hard to go to the well with those who gave so much in midweek.

We relied on old Jamesey and MJ, who still hasn’t found a decision-making brain cell, to unlock a crap Hibs.

We left 8 new players and about about 15m worth of summer spending sitting in the stands or nipping around Ikea.

    Ach well csc

Ach well..Euro hangover methinks. Although Brendan will know he needs a stronger bench

    …. ‘cos

    MJ=Shite

    Turnbull=Shite

Oh= theres a player there but god knows where!

  15. We’ve dropped points against the worst two teams in the league.

Despite fatigue from Wednesday, we should be doing better than that.

Those fringe players given a chance today (Turnbull, Johnstone, Oh and Ralston) did themselves no favours and should be surplus to requirements come January.

  16. Celtic substitutions created nothing ,Madea should be used more as a centre forward,as for Kyogo no service midfield missing, the defence needs to be looked at especially right and left backs ,but what do I know.

  17. We created far more after the subs came on which says a lot about the performance of the starting 11. Admittedly against a tiring Huns but bit not tired enough, we made life very easy for them in the opening hour

Bit of an error to start the 11 that played on Wednesday, we should have rested at least a couple but as has been said a point at Easter Road after the run of fixtures we have had recently isn’t the worst result.

  18. To finish this opening round of games 5 clear is good going. We were obviously tired but despite BR saying he’s got a big squad, I think it’s clear it is not of the required quality. I’d say Mark Lawwell needs a good January but that would imply he might actually be judged on his performance. He won’t. He’s got a job for life.

  19. You just really hope that when people get a chance they do something. Sadly not today. They had chances but mostly lacked composure.

One day Celtic might make you happy. I can’t help but think that would be when Celtic loses mind you.

  21. glendalystonsils on

I would agree that if we are to cope with games like today’s after busting a gut against a top CL side 3 days previously , a stronger depth of squad is needed . Hopefully we are working on that but Rome wasn’t built in a day .

The problem with that analysis is that we are living with the fallout of several transfer windows, where those guys are not being challenged, even as reserves, by the millions we have spent on Holm, Kwon, Yang, Lagerbeilke, Tilio, Iwata, etc etc.

Def more positive once the subs, who have had little game time so far, came on.

Inevitably our heroes from Wednesday were exhausted and lacked the intensity or speed.

Perhaps Brendan could have had more faith in the squad from the kick off. Still 8 points clear after a tough opening 10 games with 6 away. I blame Lawwell myself.

I think we knew all we needed to know about Mikey Johnston quite some time ago .

    Indeed!!!

  25. our manager expecting his done player MJ ,DT, JF & AR to do him a turn today , that went well didn’t it , maybe he was basing their selection on his previous stint.

  26. Iwata was on fire at Tynecastle and deserved another shot today, but it appears BR prefers Turnbull , oh dear, Re Tillio someone needs their jotters, this guy has cost us 5 Months wages and hasn’t kicked a ball…He apparently came here injured and seems he’s not cutting it in training …Shocking !!!

After an unusual run of away games I’m looking at this point as a positive

    —————

    Very good point.

    Pun intended. 😃👍

From my account, we’ve now played 6 away and 4 at home.

Although, our away games have been at: Aberdeen (3-1 win), Livingston (3-0 Win), Sevco (1-0 Win), Motherwell (2-1 win), Hearts (4-1 win) and Hibs (0-0 Draw).

I’d take the run again for the next round against this lot.

Let’s see how Sevco do in those same games this next round of fixtures.

  28. Prestonpans bhoys on

Well you can’t win them all and if we’re dropping points then I would rather it be at Easter Rd than a number of other venues!

  29. bournesouprecipe on

They’re not robots Paul67, and so it proved.

Flat, anti climatic game where Kyogo Palma and Maeda up front all looked stale. Bernardo didn’t get momentum from Wednesday and instead looked lacking in pace. O’Riley and MacGregor just never got to grips with Hibs predictably defensive side that makes them perennial also rans.

Don’t fancy James Forrest in the new super sub role even though you know he’ll get one scoring chance, you are also likely to know he’ll miss. As for Mikey Johnston now ‘overtaking’ Yang, and Turnbull overtaking Holm summer transfer cynics will be in their element.

Brendan Rodgers played ten won eight, drawn two, looking forward to high flying Saints in Parkhead where the overnight headlines won’t be,

    ‘Celts go eight clear’
