I am honestly not into politics, but, I do detest Boris and his team, who voted down a Brexit deal, to try and force a no deal

This will severely cost many many businesses thousands if not millions, plus many jobs

I have been reading about the no confidence vote earlier

Why doesn’t the opposition with the independents ( sacked Tories)

Form a coalition goverment for a few months ?

They would hold a majority of MPs

Put someone like Dominic Grieve ? Or Ken Clarke – a Tory – as largest party, in charge (PM)

But a joint multi party goverment

    Run this through to 2020

Get this group to negotiate the Brexit deal ???

Go back to people to vote, on deal

Then call an election, after the vote

That will scupper the Tory elitists

    Or is that 2 simple

  2. Not a great performance yesterday, but have had worse days at Easter Road.Is it impossible for us to play 2 strikers at the same time?.Surely worth a try.Bayo looks to good a prospect to sit on a bench most of the season.

My biggest moan about yesterday, apart from the penalty claims, was the fact we never used Bauers long throws into the box.WTF was that all about.Considering how inept we are at set pieces, this got me fuming.Has there ever been any team, with a player who can throw the ball that distance, who did not use him?Especially with the height we have, and the importance of getting a winner.A stupifying decision by the manager.

BJ is backed by huge investors to get the ‘no deal done’ not to mention the hedge funders betting on it. If he doesn’t he’s toast. This also is including the new laws on corporation tax in the EU atm.

Its incredible the amount of people who support this lot……..ie the ones with the arse hingin’ oot their troosers and with no pot to piss in. Get the poor fighting among themselves, its a winning formula tried and tested.

Very few people are aware of the new EU tax laws and its impact on the privileged few, especially MP’s at Westminster😱

What is going on here in this country is really strange. Almost certainly, Cummings is running the show on a day by day basis. Remember, he masterminded the Referendum result. He a his unwholesome gang are determined to get a result no matter who or what stands in the way. The playbook now includes possible violence, fraud and barefaced lies. That’s the state we’re in.

  8. On the contrary guys. I think with the information highway the “working class” have the greatest amount of information at their finger tips.

    Possibly too much information.

Can’t complain too much about yesterday, some games are just like that. I don’t think we played too badly although the players I picked for Jobo were all at the back. That tells me something.

  9. Jimmy and others – this is what the country needs to know – from Philip Yesterday

“Boris Johnson asserts, ever more boldly, that we will leave the EU on October 31, “with or without a deal”. But as his sister has reminded us, he is backed by speculators who have bet billions on a hard Brexit — and there is only one outcome that works for them: a crash-out no-deal Brexit that sends the currency tumbling and inflation soaring. So they, at least, will be reassured to see no evidence at all that his government has seriously pursued a deliverable deal; “

There is no altruism on the far right – only the search for benefits for themselves and their pals.

I don’t post much nowadays, just lurk mostly as I much prefer to read others views on what’s going on with our club. Today I’m making an exception for this worthwhile cause. My mates wife Gillian Lafferty is fundraising for Celtic FC Foundation and The Beatson Cancer Charity. A great opportunity to show your support for the great work done on our behalf by the Club. To donate just click the link thanks.

  11. I watched BBC 2’s Politics Live at lunch time on Friday…with the lovely Jo Coborn in the chair alongside Three Female Guests and One Male aged about 35/40.

The discussion was about BJ and him possibily “Inciting Hatred” etc with his Plans. Comments…tone etc etc.

This “Male”, obviously a Tory..who is the editor for some Magazine stated Live on Air…” I want to see riots in the streets” ”

Jo and her guests were feckin speechless.and he was asked to explain…of course he back tracked a bit. and couldnt give ANY answers after that !

  12. Looking at this Tory Chump on Politics live…I would bet that he would run a feckin MILE…If any Riot or trouble broke out near him…he didnt look the fighting type !

after he said about “Wanting riots”..Jo Coborn said to him…”So you hope to see Shops being LOOTED etc” ?

He said, ” No, I didnt say that ….blah feckin Blah! !

Jo coborn had to point out to him that “Shops being LOOTED was usually the NORM in any riot”…..again he didnt know what to answer.

You really need to stop watching those political shows…should help keep yer blood pressure low ;-)) Though I’d pay to watch a riot in the House of Commons when all MP’s are sitting

    H.H.

  14. Changing the subject. Went to B,Lane yesterday. van Dijk looked class,he strolled through the game, dont think he put a foot wrong. Liverpool lucky to win. Celtic could do with some of that luck.

One other outstanding player,in my opinion, was Fleck.

Is he better than McGregor,on that performance, yes. He will tackle, neither Rogic or McGregor seem prepared to tackle.

  16. Big Jimmy,

It’s totally up to you what you post as long as it’s within the blogs rules.

You are correct , this blog often covers subjects other than football. E.g. I completely loathe cricket but would never dream of telling posters to refrain from discussing it.

We’re you out yesterday? Watched the game in McChuills then reluctantly went to the glorified ganghut called Grace’s. Can’t believe how busy it always is with long queues outside.

    Cheers and HH.

  17. Gene,

You are a valued poster on here. Start a topical footie conversation and I’m sure others will join in.

    Cheers and HH.

  18. This is a ridiculous situation, can’t afford to lose good posters like Gene, hope you reconsider HH

Ignore the politics but am sure there is a place for it on here as sometimes it gets more replies than the fitba :-)

Cluj kick off in around 50mins they have 21pts (from a possible 30) and are currently top of their domestic league … yesterday wasn’t great but with around 30hrs rest and no travel surely must help us on Thursday… yesterday was a blip, Neil still only two defeats since February and come Thursday we can beat one of the teams that have managed to beat us … the other one ??? We have already cuffed them in their own midden :-)

  20. On another topic- Lazio looked superb today, destroying Genoa 4-0. They have some superb players, particularly the inaptly named Immobile.

Watched some of the Lazio game on “free sports” channel today … hopefully they continue to do well in Serie A and can’t be bothered with the Europa League :-)

Although Cluj already have them on the back foot and come Thursday at least them or Rennes will drop points if not both

  22. LAST MAN STANDING 13 ROUND 4

Good afternoon all, and welcome to Round 4.

Once again, our Scottish fixtures proved to be very unpredictable, with only Motherwell winning for our contestants. The EPL seems to be far more predictable ( Man City in week 1 being the obvious exception ) and the argument for it being a far more competitive league seems weaker with each passing week. The big surprise this weekend was that Celtic failed to beat a Clancy inspired Hibernian team who have so far been hibsing it at almost every opportunity.

On to Round 4, and the final opportunity to buy-back and attain Zombie Status before the reincarnation window slams shut at 15:00 next Sunday, appropriately, as the Dead Club kick off ( at home again ) against Hamilton.

Entries to cqnpredictor@gmail.com or via Whatsapp before kick off in your slected game please, and please be aware of your choices so far when you make your pick. If you need a reminder of who you have picked so far, drop us a mail and we’ll make sure you know your history

Pick for Bateen Bhoy in Round 4 is Ross County,

and the pick for Celticrollercoaster is Motherwell

  23. Hertha Berlin 4-0 up and unbeaten in their last two games since Dedryck Boyata has been fit to play … plus the big man just notched the 4th goal.. always like to see our ex-players doing well … will fire up the IPad for skygo tomorrow night if KT is starting at old Trafford … just out of interest, plus I think he is a far better defender / attacker than the Liverpool left back .. but glad we have our own Mbombo

  24. From @DanielO’Connel18

There’s only one thing more infuriating to me than Honest Mistakes, and that’s Celtic fans collaborating with the cheats by posting utter shite like, “We were rubbish anyway.” You don’t need to be playing well to get a penalty, just fouled deliberately in the penalty box.

In a 38 game league season you cannot be brilliant every week. Bad days are inevitable. That doesn’t mean a different set of rules can be applied to a team having an off-day. “Oh aye, ye were chopped down in the box, but I cannae gie ye a penalty, cos ye’s are playing shite.”

A referee’s job is not to ensure the better team wins, it’s to apply the laws of the game impartially. No matter how badly you think Celtic played today, they should have had two penalties, which if scored would have given us the win.

But Clancy’s failure to apply the laws of the game today means we are now one point rather than three points ahead.

If you’re the type who says “you’ve just got to be good enough so the ref doesn’t matter” (I know, it’s a Jock Stein quote), you’re basically saying it’s ok for us to be cheated by referees, they’re a legitimate obstacle in our path.

Every other team only has to do enough to win, we have to do *more* than enough to win and if you don’t want to hear about referees, you’re okay with that.

It’s time the referee observer reports were published and available for fans to see. Okay, Clancy had a bad day at the office yesterday. I want to see how his performance was graded. Was it acceptable? How? Was it unacceptable? Is he getting another Premiership gig next week?

For too long we’ve been told referees aren’t biased, they just make Honest Mistakes. You can accept the odd Honest Mistake, but when the same faces are making the same Honest Mistakes, week after week, season after season, something’s not right.

We’re in a position where the SFA either think our referees are shockingly bad and we’re being asked to throw our hands up and just accept that, or the SFA think they’re good enough despite all the Honest Mistakes. So let’s see those gradings so we know which it is.

  25. Play on👍 https://twitter.com/Swedleypops/status/1176944182579126272/video/1

Can someone please tell me why this wasn’t a red card and can you explain to me why the linesman and referee didn’t aware the free kick and the sending off to a Rangers defender ?

This isn’t a bad day at the office it’s downright cheating to help a club in blue.

If this was our defender and we were only 1-0 up it’s a 100% guarantee he would be sent off and we would have no complaints.

  26. imo with regards to the 2 ungiven pens yesterday as a team we should be right in the officials faces and not measly accepting ,

  27. Secco FC made a statement regarding Willie Collum and he’s been nowhere near their games since whereas we sit and allow this nonsense to happen and Clancy walks off in to the sunset and will referee another one of our games.

Beaton, Clancy, Dallas all cheating bast**ds who should be nowhere near the game in this country.

  28. Clancy is right up there with the worst of them when it comes to Refereeing Celtic games.

  29. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Gene , keep posting please . I enjoy your posts and those of Celts who live outside of Scotland especially those who go to see their local team with the good points and the travails of that team.

I enjoy cricket , one day / 20/20 , so your knowledge of the game helps me understand it more.

There are a number of posters on here who annoy me . However , i now scroll past them meaning i have got some enjoyment back of reading the blog.

I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts. Best wishes to you and your family.

We can all be easily annoyed online :-)

I blame you & Pat Stanton for us dropping points yesterday :-)

Just watched Sportscene and my 11yr old daughter can’t understand how fouling in the box doesn’t result in a penalty … also saw the Huns game very soft penalty and how come Sportscene never showed Greg Stewart’s “goal” from a view in line with it … offside … “call them out” Celtic
