    Serious question

I think we have the worst set piece stats in world football

    Anyone dispute this?

    ###

    Major Gowen?

  2. Our lack of goals from set pieces is dreadful.

Corners are a waste of time. 30 direct free kicks ..zero goals.

Its a fair question to raise to the manager,

  3. Ange seems very focused. Single minded even.

Hopefully, one of his trusted backroom team can persuade him to mix things up a little. To make the opposition think.

When we’re able to play our fast, expansive football, we are untouchable. When our fair players are tightly marked, we have no variety.

  4. glendalystonsils on

The huns will get the same lift from that result as we did from them dropping points at DU and I fully expect them to take advantage of it .

We are struggling as a team — misplaced passes , poor crosses , lack of understanding between players .

slow pedestrian football , lacking in invention . Players who were brilliant a few weeks ago (e g Hatate , Rogic) now contributing very little . Maeda struggling to impress in the striker role despite running about daft .

League could go either way .

  5. A draw was always the most likely result today – 12 noon kickoff after being given the runaround in Europe on Thursday playing at a ground we had won 2 in 9 in the league at Easter Road before today. They are a top 4 team playing for a draw from the first minute, wasting time from the start, with zero ambition.

A point is no disaster there.

  6. when Jota leaves we we should be a wee bit more shrewd and realistic and make a move for Alan Forrest.

also Simms of Hearts as in my opinion neither GG or Maeda look as though they have the stuff, if Livi can suss us out, we just scraped past bottom club Dundee, what will the others do and where does it place Ange?

sorry for all the questions and suggestions, seriously, we need to stop pretending that we are a champions league team, thursday clearly showed we’re a long way from european third league, short of a revolution I don’t know the answers and it sadly is starting to look like Ange isn’t the answer.

  7. Rogic, Calmac and Hatate have all gone missing. They were all heroes last month. Hatate looked world class when he arrived – but he and Maeda have already played a full season of football so they may be running on fumes. Maeda finished top scorer in Japan, no? We shouldn’t write him off yet.

Hart is not a keeper who ever looks comfortable playing out from the back. Plenty of mistakes over the season similar to today. But hey, he does lots of fan selfies.

  8. Hibs were at home, had two shots all game, we’re rolling around on the floor wasting time for most of the game and cheered a 0-0 like they’d won

  9. The Malaise is spreading.

B team are losing to the University of Stirling FFS

They MUST count as a pub team😀

I blame St. Aloysious or St, Ninian’s or St. Ange’s

Good to see the reappearance of those old football myths:-

    No plan B

    Bizarre team

    Bizarre subs

    Poor body Language

    Disinterested (sic)

I’d love to see some of you spend 5 mins in Ange’s company, you’d be doing U turns quicker than the blogger James Forrest performed this season

And the opposition know they don’t have to worry about a long ball over the top, so can therefore afford to use their players to close down Celtic. If there was the occasional long ball it would help disrupt the oppositions game plan for countering Ange ball.

The more creative players, the ones with vision, probably find it a bit suffocating too, knowing that they are hemmed in by an unduly ideological method of playing.

  11. We wont see the best of our Japanese players till next season . Both looked a bit bewildered today

apart from Celtic who else was trying to secure Ange as our manager?

  13. ernie – long ball over what ? when the opposition are parked on their 18 yard line ? long ball over and down easter road ?

  14. Paddy Gallagher on

I have always liked Hibs as a team, sporting and playing good fast flowing football. I have always liked and followed Sean Maloney’s career, good player and has served a great apprenticeship as a manager. If Sean’s teams are going to go to ground feigning injury and rolling about if they have just been victims of gbh, then I may have to readdress my opinion. Shame I liked him as a person and as a managers protege.

I would rather loose than cheat, poor!!

  15. Kev Nygma

I’d guess Yokohama Mariners would have kept him if he did not want to move- apart from that- neither you nor I know anything about the level of interest or disinterest in him nut having produced a 25+ point turnaround on last season, he will have plenty of suitors if you get him sacked

  16. After the doing we gave them, we believed they would crack. The pressure of chasing us would get to them. The win over Dortmund will have given them a massive boost of confidence. No tired legs out there.

I’d say, right now, we look like the team that is teetering on the brink.

  17. SFTB at 3:23

Given your list of myths, do you think there is *anything* we could be doing better or is the season panning out perfectly?

Don’t mean this to be argumentative, I’m genuinely curious as to what else is causing us to drop points occasionally, lose in Europe etc

  18. Steve Clarke didn’t play traditional Celtic renowned style but he applied realism and worked with what players he had took Kilmarnock to 3rd in the table, even Rodgers Celtic team in one game didn’t register a shot on target until 88 mins for Kilmarnock fans it must have been boring to watch but look at them now relegated. Celtic could not dare ask fans to watch Clarke style football though it probably would help us in europe.

  19. Uncle Jimmy

There are a million things we could do better than we did today.

There were a million things we could do better when we were delighting in the 3:0 win versus the Ibrox mob.

The point being made wasn’t that there is nothing to improve nor that there was nothing we could improve; it was just, as it stated clearly, that these standard football criticisms by frustrated non-coaches are not going to impress any professional coaches.

They are expressions of frustration; they are not analysis.

  20. That was in the post wasn’t it ? No “get out of jail free” card this week…

Seriously, loads of praise for Ange to date and rightly so but the constant crab-like moves to the widemen, to cross to the wee man in the middle to no avail is our one trick. No danger at corners or free kicks. That’s got to be on the training regime. What do they do all week?

Our form has fallen off a cliff and today will see our lead back to 1 pt and the GD closed. We also look tired and predicatable. Worrying and advantage der Hun…

  21. No matter what some are saying, trying to put on a brave face,we have been gradually getting worse since their demolition. You can get away with it if we can see that the effort is there, and we scrape the win.Today was a catastrophic performance, probably been coming.A draw against a Hibs team badly depleted, sorry. With talent we had out there today,to try and say one point not that bad, your expectations a lot lower than mine

What is Kev? Who is Kev? sorry don’t understand.
