The European Union has announced that it intends to begin shipping arms to Ukraine, the first time in its history it has taken such a step.
Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the move marked a “watershed moment”.
She also announced a raft of new sanctions targeting Russia and Belarus, and a ban on Russia using European airspace.

Not above a good dose of schaudenfraude – a nutmeg of McDonald at his near post was delightful to see.
Was going on with my Sunday but happened to take a look when I saw it was 2-1.
Still annoyed that we didn’t do better today but I’ll take our outcome and circumstances over them’s.

Because of the way we play we struggle to break teams down when they put bodies behind the box and play narrow. We don’t get any goals from set pieces which is a real issue because thats one way you can dig out a 1-0 in such circumstances. We had complete control of the game but didn’t do enough with the amount of possession we had. Kyogo is the missing spark.

See your guys that are out walkin your dugs (lubo, jinky, henke ?) gonny keep doing it till the end of the season
I must have said it hundreds of times and will not stop saying it.
Players are at us cos we are their level, gone are the MoN days, even the WGS days when we had the chance to compete, money has truly taken over the game now and clubs like us are also rans in the eyes of the games rulers.
I fully accept that we are not getting bang for the bucks we are spending, but I honestly believe it will come, especially now that our biggest hurdle to spending doesn’t seem to be pulling the purse strings, I say seems to be cos like the rest I am not sure, and I also honestly believe in our manager, building a winning team from a shit show takes time.
I watched both games. They created loads of chances. Morelos had two disallowed for offside in second half. He got booked for dissent after first one. Motherwell scored a tremendous goal in 52 min. Their right winger left Bassey (I think) for dead plus a few others and squared it beautifully for their striker to score with aplomb. In 76 min Woolery showed good footwork and outmuscled two Sevco defenders and fired the ball past McGregor. Let’s just say that other than that Motherwell defended resolutely. Shaw played well.

Porteous and the big Rocky guy gobbled up just about every high ball we put into their box giving our wee Abada and Maeda no chance . Our tactics were certainly more suited to having GG in the middle . Anyway , Motherwell have cheered me up considerably, but I’m making no wild predictions for the St Mirren or Livvy games given our current form.

Took my girls out to the park and left phone at home so I wouldn’t be checking their score.
Just in and effing buzzing ! What a funny old game.
Yes, we’re not playing well but they’re in free fall ! 11 points dropped since the new year.
They’ll be sick they didn’t close that gap.
Motherwell have come to our rescue again at Ibrox after we drop points.
What a day. 10 to go !

The wee VB has had one transfer window and his 3 signings have been hopeless.

I had the feeling from early on in the game that we wouldn’t score. I also had the feeling at the end that it might be a point we might be glad of at the end of the season.
Must say Hibs did very well against us. They were brave in the ball. Their problem is that they’ve got nothing much up front. Maloney may prove to be a good coach. I hope so.
And then and then and then…… I logged off, read a book all afternoon and then I thought I’d take a look at how much the bestest ever side from Scotland in the history of football had won by. And my feeling that we won a point today seems to have been vindicated.
Sundays after European Thursdays are tough on teams.
Today is now a morale booster for us and a kick in the stones for them.

I’m not sure why some are gloating over booing at the end of the sevco game – just look at the comments on here during and after our game.

When we were in the CL, you could see our players were running at full tilt and must have also been mentally drained in a way that doesn’t happen in the SPL.
Dortmund are usually a CL major team so even when Sevco went through, it must have exhauseted them.
I think they’ll come a cropper against Red Star though.
Not such a big name but a very tricky opponent.
It could well be like the disappointment of us being knocked out by Villareal in 2004 after eliminating Barca.

Couldn’t agree more. What a guy. You think the US will follow the EU?
We may not have created many chances today but neither did the sieve appear.
Do the SMSM ever point out their defensive frailties?

Aipple – I think the US has already provided arms and other assistance.
I don’t see troops or air support.
Despite the fact that several EU countries have nukes, I see the US escalating involvement as the parents getting involved and that will end badly.
