  6. Well, what did we learn yesterday? Will we vary our play, mix things up? Will we continue with our fast, high energy expansive style?

Will we hope more teams don’t work out how to nullify our threat, as has happened twice in recent days?

Will we work on offensive set pieces or are they a luxury we do not need?

  7. As many have said previously yesterday was not the Angeball that thrilled us all recently- yesterday was Lennyball, slow, dull and give it to the better players and hope one bit of magic gets you in.

From very high a few weeks ago we have gone backwards – difficult to see why but for sure we need to apply some urgency and we have to vary our play

  8. Good Morning all. Last day in Gran Canaria — boo. Back at Parkhead on Wednesday, see you there.

  9. Morning all from a wet and cold Garngad

Philbhoy – Big Jimmy said he was posting as he seen the Big Packy1 post a few times and he was letting everyone know that he was a liar and got banned before for insulting Jimmyvand lying about him. Then the multi moniker and politico nutters ganged up on him. You know the ones.

    Disgraceful cowards.

Aye, shite bags the lot of them.

Big Packy was red carded by Paul so don’t understand why he is allowed to post.

    Unless Paul needs the hits.

Please tell BIG JIMMY I was asking for him.

I would have loved to attend on Friday but daughter’s birthday weekend so loads to do.

    Take care!

  11. Philbhoy – Will let Jimmy know.

It could have been a multi moniker posting as BP1 guy but Jimmy said it was his same pish so he thinks its him back on.

Hopefully we will meet soon again for a pint and a natter.

    Enjoy your ghirls Birthday.

    D :)

  12. Good morning from a damp North Staffs – off to Yorkshire for a couple of days –

Big Jimmy if you’re lurking stay well.

  13. The Coach at Leeds paid the price for not changing his style of play ,that should be a wake up call to Ange who in my opinion his tactics gone by there sell by date,

  14. 2 Coaches from Livingston on Hun Corporation Sportscene ,gets me to say that’s McIntyre and co getting them in to look at Celtic’s tactics for this weekend fixture at Almondvale ,shower of snidey huns employed with THE GRAVY TRAIN ie BBC SCOTLAND for one thing only to help Sevco .

    ————-

If the Abada or Maeda chances went in during the first half, we would have cruised it. As I said yesterday, when we haven’t scored by 60mins, we allow the other team to spoil, cheat and spawn a 0-0 as we get frustrated in the last 30 rather than stick to the plan. Late goals usually come in more open games (2-1, 3-2 etc). The Dun Utd game is the only one I think breaks that theory

Ps the wee O’Reilly flick up to Abada not long after he came on was beautiful yesterday

  16. Honest — I am snowed under with work / stuff / geopolitics but …

We seem to have hit a wall.

All areas of the park seem to be creaking no matter the talent on display.

Passing by the defence looked very clunky — poor touches / odd bounces / not crisp.

The balance of the MF is well off the pace.

TR is currently back to his hop / skip / jump worst.

CMcG is drowning as the defensive pivot who cant/ wont tackle.

Well of the pace and even the basics have deserted him.

RH — the movement is reducing by the week and the attacking element has disappeared.

The three man / flat attack is not working.

JNPF moved up a gear in the last 10 minutes when he came shorter then turned and drove at their defence — improved things but a bit late.

Also very little threat through the centre yesterday.

DM is taking longer to find his feet in an SPL that had learned how to play KF the hard way.

Plus the defence element of the three can be a bit hit and miss.

Young players learning the game is part of it — the transition looks like a tough gig.

Then you have the basics that we do not seem to be engaging with.

One sub after that performance is an admission that the bandwidth in the bus shelter is not up to the challenge — it has been an issue for most of the season.

The composition of the subs bench was a failure in itself.

Why no youth / B team CF in the mix — the B Team guy is a big unit who deserves his chance.

Attacking options of 2 wingers was not what was needed given the starting team.

The squad also looks a bit unsettled — too many look to be unsure of those around them.

The pecking order / who does the hard graft / who is after your position / who can you rely on to burst a gut to cover your mistake — it all looks a bit of a dogs dinner.

Then there is the fitness angle where the mantra seems to be more training not better training and too many are worried about who will be the next to twang.

Change takes time — the trick is to make the most of what you have got rather than being blind to the room and imposing your standard / common or garden routines and expect perfect results.

How to kill a cat — you can either strangle it with barbed wire or feed it a 5 gallon drum of carnation milk.

Same result — dead feline — just a case that one was easier than the other.

I fear that AP is trying to “strangle” the squad with barbed wire.

Our play would appear to be very prescriptive — overly so.

The side to side / possession football is now where we seem to be at.

Very little played through the middle to mix it up.

To see CMcG on the half turn just take the ball and play it back is soul destroying for all concerned.

We ain’t getting any better — in fact we are getting worse.

The EuConL matches were secondary and it has hurt us.

Consequently change or more precisely more change is needed.

Starting with the MF — if the future is RH and two high energy players then lets start now.
