If there was a higher power helping us after our draw today, I’m sure most believers (and non believers) would agree there is more important things in the world than football just now.

And also, a defeat would have been more useful…

Yes, it is a shame. He was lucky with lack of injuries last season, much less so in the EPL. But his sacking was self inflicted. Leeds lost 20 goals in their last 5 league games! If that doesn’t focus you on changing tactics, and to think about closing the back door, nothing on earth will.

  4. watching sportscene.

mark mcghee is like a spitting image puppet of himslef

and the livi manager still talks like he is coaching his prison team

  5. Watched today’s game on a sausage via cbs in the states. It seemed to be a direct sky feed with the normal commentators etc.

The feed reminded me of watching Celtic or Ireland (other countries are available) playing abroad where you had to rely on the pictures provided by the host country. Slow motion replays were usually a problem as there always seemed to be a certain bias towards the home team whilst controversial decisions that go against the away team somehow fail to merit a replay.

That’s the feeling I had today.

  6. Saint Stivs,

I’m confused about the Livi manager – he had to go through the fit and proper test, which I thought (without reading) sounded like he should have failed, to get the job.

Now he’s not even getting mentioned for any jobs even though he’s clearly one of the best Scottish managers in the league.

    🤷🏽‍♂️

  7. Martindale paid his debt to society for the crime he committed. Turned his life round in the process. Anyone that has an issue with that is no Celtic man.

SFTB etc. Acht, I know I shouldn’t bite – and I knew it was nonsense (had seen it before). I was just trying to flush out the nonsense. Interesting the same nonsense was posted as proof.

    Anyway – starve-of-oxygen. Best advice.

SIONNAIGH – I can’t stand Martindale – wee ned Hun in my book. I don’t think that’s in any way at odds with your sentiment, though.

I have an issue with it.

Respectfully, have you read beyond the headlines in his case?

A bit of research wouldn’t go amiss …

… including looking into the extraordinary lengths gone to OVER A DECADE to conceal ill gotten gains.

  10. Didn’t think that anybody could add much to the memory of Muhammad Ali, but Frank Skinner had an interesting take on his BBC2 doc. just finished but available on BBCi Player for the next month or so. Some great personal memories of listening/watching to the fights back in the day. Interview with the great Larry Holmes, erstwhile sparring partner of Ali’s, and sadly a one time opponent when Holmes was at his best and Ali a shadow of his former self. Larry went through something similar when he came back to fight a young Mike Tyson. Frank visited Ali’s resting place too. Which reminded me of a story, which I might have told on here before, of the time I visited Arlington Cemetery with my parents back in the 1980s to pay our respects to Jack and Bobby’s final resting place having earlier did likewise at the Kennedy family birthplace up in Boston MA, technically Brookline outside the City line. Anyways, there is a great cross reference system to help you find graves of others you might know of. Visited the stone of Hollywood great Lee Marvin, former Marine, and great acting hero of mine. To cut a long story short, was back in Scotland some time later, my brother, big boxing fan, and looking at the photos from DC says ‘See you visited Joe Louis’ gravestone’…. What?!!

Sure enough yours truly pictured at Lee Marvin’s grave, which was, right next door, to the Brown Bomber.

A knockout blow if ever there was one. Guess you had to be there, which I was when you think about it.

We’ll all get to wake up on Monday still being Celtic fans.

    Isn’t that wonderful?

I’m almost jealous of our contributors in Australia.

Oh dear, it looks like the Ukraine stuff has been used as a smoke n mirrors job!

    James Melville (@JamesMelville) Tweeted:

While the world looks towards the Ukraine, the WHO has moved towards a global treaty which would tie member nations to a coordinated response to the next pandemic – and place the WHO ahead of the sovereignty and constitutions of all countries.
