  1. thought we played okay in spells. lustig and dembele took their goals well. second half lenny changed tactics forcing some errors defensively never a penalty but seen them given. also craig gordon everytime he had the ball at his feet i was as nervous as a kitten. anyway another final to look forward too ktf.

  2. Gerryfaethebrig.

Glad your shift wasn’t too hard.

I go from Starbucks to Costa to Cafe Nero to any wee independents who make a decent drink.

It’s ike going to a different pub, keeps it interesting. Although today I went were my wife wanted to go which was M and S at the Fort then Starbucks.

    Hail Hail

  3. Evening CQNrs, here’s my tuppenceworth:

Lustig – based on value for money, ability to defend his side of the pitch and get a few goals – he has to be one of our best signings of the last 20yrs

Brown – I dont think he is the type to keep a close eye on his legacy but he has built one at Celtic. He has matured into an outstanding midfielder, head and shoulders above anything in the Scottish game.

Hampden – famous old ground has outlived its usefulness to the nation. And the optics of an empty stand today reflect terribly on Hibs and the SFA

McGregor – this lad sees the game through a periscope. Against the odds, he’s going to become a Celtic great.

Stokes – we used to say Sammi was the riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma but he has nothing on Stokes. Player of supreme ability who is never going to achieve what he should.

    Penalty – diabolical and inexcusable.

Roberts v Forrest – Roberts is a player of immense ability but he is yet to turn it on fully this season. Forrest remains a livewire that wont easily be defused, time he had an extended run on the wing as a starter.

Sevco – will continue to inhabit a torture chamber of their own construction tomorrow. Fully expect Well to outfight them and win, MIBs notwithstanding (big if)

    Enjoy your night folks

    TJ

Thank you for the goal links today

missed the game due to parish duties so well chuffed to catch all the goals.

    “flawed signing policy..”

So you know for a fact that Brendan made a conscious decision not to buy a CB in the summer window? You guys must be close.

£5m for a new CB would not have guaranteed a different outcome on Wednesday, I appreciate that Bayern are just a diddy team from a crap league but..

So your perceived ‘failure’ by our club has left us in the unenviable position of having a continuing 60 match domestic run unbeaten, another cup final to play in, top of the league and in pole position to have European football after Christmas.

Personally, I choose to believe that our Manager has the situation in hand… I guess some amongst us just can’t help being half empty glasses.

  6. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Jimmynotaul , i have never really liked Dundee (apart from one glorious day 31 years ago) mainly because of their hun like support.

McCann going there has not improved my sentiment towards them.

You are a lucky avoiding that line of work . No doubt it will be the escapees from mine and Gerry’s work , doing their Al Pacino impersonation just when i thought I was out, they pull me back in .

The concerns about Craig Gordon’s distrubution are growing , I worry about his ability to save a penalty , apart from that crucial one against Be’er Sheva , he has not saved any awarded against us since he became our number 1 goalie. If he is following instructions re his distrubution , he should not be carrying the can especially as teams are now pushing up on us when he has the ball.

Good news, as I remember what you said before, hope that wee Cornelius McCann didn’t waste your refreshment, the Saturday 8am-12pm shift is pretty decent, obviously I never see any monetary gain but today was a joke, nothing working but at least I managed to show up :-)

  8. GARY67 on 21ST OCTOBER 2017 5:56 PM

Was the linesman who gave the penalty the racist Tory MP or was he on the main stand side?

Just read he was the same lines man who didn’t give the penalty when Josh Meekings saved. griff’s header a couple of years ago. Why is he still officiating games of this magnitude when he’s obviously incapable of doing it?

    *Token Tim

    * I believe we have WGS to thank for that as he had Broonie playing in different positions in an effort to create the complete midfielder.

  10. DALLAS DALLAS WHERE THE HECK IS DALLAS . what about giving devries a run in the team. didnt do too bad last time any thoughts.

  11. The linesman today was Frank Connor, the same linesman against ICT in the semi and the same guy who missed the assault on KT in the Scottish Cup final last season, pretty good against Celtic this guy is for the opposition

  12. prestonpans bhoys on

Those 10,000 unsold tickets at say £30 is £300,000 divided by four participants , so £75,000 out of pocket. Daft sum to lose out in for no apparent reason other then Hibs not wishing to sell them to us. Motherwell will be raging , as will be the Hun’s who need it more than them. :0)

  13. JIMMYNOTPAUL on 21ST OCTOBER 2017 5:22 PM

McCann was probably calculating his tax bill whilst supping his morning coffee.

  14. JIMMYNOTPAUL

I’m surprised there was as many Junior games on today , BTW don’t feel too sorry for they Kello wans who travelled up ! Great to see big Moussa back today !!

  15. Gerryfaethebrig on

    Big Packy 6.13pm

No harm to big Doris but Craig Gordon is a far superior goalie in my opinion, leave the goalie to make the saves and let the FOOTballers kick the baw :-)

  16. Neil isnae daft.

Mikael had 2 Great goals today.

Neil has pinpointed the rightback being a weakness in the Celtic team, I agree.

Tony Ralston will cement that position by the Seasons end, IMO.

  17. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Gerry at 5.52, we got away 2 hours after you.

The Motherwell chief executive seems an ok guy and the only who seems to acknowledge the benefit to other clubs , our european run brings them.

Its a good read, Paul does some stuff about his private life in it as well or I’m getting mixed up with some of his other books .

The Edinburgh Establishment/Murray axis is very powerful with the book exposing what they can get up to .

  18. back in after a long day out.

thank you celtic and brendan for another win. we were miles better than hibs, could have had a couple more goals, craziest penalty decision. For a while , mid 2nd half we looked leggy and had some really bad passes, esp from Gordon.

I dont get why Craig dawdles on the ball, and doesnt just pass the ball to the closest available celtic player. its no rocket salad.

by the way, moussa’s composure is what makes him such a brilliant striker, he will kick on from here.

    cmon motherwell tomorrow.

ps, thats a shambles of a ticket operation. bad work hibs.

  19. McKinnon at DU appears to be on a shookly peg, emergency board meeting taking place. McIntyre would be a shoe in.

  20. prestonpans bhoys on

    Jophes,

Wonder if clubs would be keen to ask for a 50/50 split if they were forced to make up the difference for asking for a disproportionately large allocation in comparison to their weekly attendance but failed to sell them…..

  21. Hibs attitude seems to be if we can’t sell the tickets you can’t get them. They’d rather see empty seats than Celtic supporters who would buy them.

  22. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Jimmynotpaul at 5.56 , the Clydebank Girvan game at Yoker today was called off for the same reason.

East Kilbride Thistle have spent a fair bit on their pitch and did not have as many home postponements last season as they previously had.

Hopefuly the drainage issue at Cumbernauld’s ground is sorted out.

Mr McInally’s Pollok beat Beith 3 2 today . He will be happy with six points and seven goals in their last two league games.

  23. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Big Packy, I still prefer Craig as our first choice goalie . Dorus had two excellent saves against Dundee last week but he does not fill me with great confidence.

  24. Gary67 on 21st October 2017 6:27 pm

Hibs attitude seems to be if we can’t sell the tickets you can’t get them. They’d rather see empty seats than Celtic supporters who would buy them.

    ………………………………………………………………..

    Surely an SFA/SPFL thing?

I have no idea about these things.

  25. The Motherwell Chief Executive said on Clyde tonight that his club sold the tickets from behind the goal moving around in batches, so that any un-sold tickets could be returned and given to Rangers.

He said that they quickly realised after a few days that demand wasn’t strong enough for them to sell 10,000 as initially requested so 2000 were given back and sold by Rangers.

He said he had been instructed by the SPFL to sell the tickets in this manner.

So that is from the horse’s mouth re the Motherwell v Sevco tie, what were Hibs told?

What were Aberdeen told for last year’s final when they had empty spaces at the cup final?

As always it’s one rule for them and another for us.

And btw there was no Hibs boycott, they sold under 10,000 tickets and denied 10,000 Celtic season tickets a chance to be at the game.

  26. Tontine Tim, agree WGS has been a real positive influence on Browns development into player he is today.

    Gerryfaethebrig – you’re right !! While BR record at Hampden is 100 % I probably shouldnt complain….

  27. From my vantage point in the Celtic end 150 yards away it was never a pen. Having watched it again on tv 20 times I was correct. Hh

*as my wee mammy told me when I was still at primary they’re nae friends of ours, forget the colour of their strip and their name.

  29. Well done to the team today, to go 60 games unbeaten domestically is an unbelievable record which shows not only ability but great mental strength.

The pain from our media is reaching record levels, it is delightful and delicious. They had the crisis headlines prepared, the knives were sharpened and the hope to see our run ended, moves to Wednesday.

Already we have 6 different media whores claiming it was a penalty, seriously?, what happened to self respect?

Our game is a joke and these people are destroying it, so sad.

Cqn is where we can complain :-)

But it’s good complaining heading to a fourth final in just over a year, think Brendan owns that Hampden place :-)

Clydebank called the game off early this morning , so fair play to them , i think game was even in doubt yesterday
