There have been many questions about the unusual circumstance in football of Rangers going into administration but not making any players redundant. It is possible, and not totally uncommon, for directors of a company in administration to arbitrarily choose to provide funds from their own resources to pay any chosen creditor, including staff. In football, players’ contracts of employment need to be with the club, but the source of payment can come from anywhere.
In this instance, Rangers Group, the club’s holding company, or any other body or person, could be in sufficient funds to provide the administrators with enough money to not only pay players, but to continue operating in a relatively normal state. Rangers’ administrators have already suggested Craig Whyte has guaranteed to make-good wages due to be paid this week, although it was not made clear which entity would be paying, or the source of such funds.
Administrators will only be forced into player redundancies if they do not have sufficient funds available to see them through to the timely conclusion of negotiations with creditors, or if they are unable to receive binding undertakings from another source that they will step forward to pay players next month.
Various sources over the weekend suggested HM Revenue and Customs were prepared to extend generous time to pay terms to Rangers. This club is owned by Craig Whyte. While we all know what a stand-up guy Craig is, how likely to you think HMRC are to believe he will stick to a plan stretching out years into the future? It’s just not going to happen.
I hear a ‘We’ll take a few years to pay too’ campaign is set to trickle through the SPL if HMRC agree to this one. Better using the tax man as a bank than using an actual bank.

I totally agree. We cannot ever give up Catholic schools. They are based on excellence. I agree with you that all schools should try to develop a Catholic ethos but sadly I feel it can only be delivered in a Catholic school.

The precedent of Gretna was mentioned in The Scotsman, but it is a bogus comparison IMO.
Gretna were sure to finish last. Rangers could have sold some players to get the funds to ensure they can complete the season. They are fighting for second place with Motherwell, a difference in TV money of around £1m. If they don’t complete the season Dunfermline/Hibs are saved from relegation.
They have had a huge competitive advantage from overspending, and the SPL want to reward that by giving them more money?
Under several scenarios they could finish the league in bottom place. Which gives them around £1m in TV money – which is about what they owe to other SPL clubs. They shouldn’t be getting a penny of that money in advance.

I also seem to remember that previously you said that you left Scotland a long time ago. Perhaps you are not fully aware of the Importance of the Labour Party in helping Catholics to get a foothold in Scottish Society. When the Labour Party formed, Catholics joined the party as they believed it represented what they believed in. They believed that it was their best chance of obtaining social justice. Men like John Wheatley and Paddy Dolan rose to prominent political positions and set about creating conditions whereby everyone could get social justice irrespective of creed or social class. The Labour Party served Catholics well in Scotland in the past. Catholic schools gave us a good education and bred confidence. Catholic schools also teach about social justice and values such as caring and sharing, tolerance and respect for the beliefs and views of others. We believe in equality and fairness.

I was just havin a wee peep on a rangers fans forum where they were discussing what they can do on March 25 to counteract the Celtic Party that will be going on that day,all the usual type of stuff suggested,you normal stuff (sing your heart out,bring lots of union flags,red white and blue balloons etc)
