“I brought Charles Green in to buy Rangers”

851

“I brought Charles Green in to buy Rangers” screams the BBC headline ahead of this evening’s interview by Chris McLaughlin of the Last King of Rangers, Our Hero, Craig Whyte.  Whyte has retained private contact with a couple of journalists but he has previously declined earnest requests to go on the record given the level of investigation he is under.  The wrong word could be costly.

But here it is, “I brought Charles Green in to buy Rangers”.  An unequivocal assertion.

The interview will be broadcast on Reporting Scotland and Newsnight Scotland this evening and has been trailed by every outlet in the land (first trailed by Phil Mac Giolla Bhain last night).  There appears to be genuine surprise in many news outlets.  CQN’ers will be busy checking this this is, in fact, news, not a rehash of an earlier established fact (it is genuine news).

It has been a few months since Our Hero was The Only Show in Town but he can still put on a captivating performance.

Charles Green has yet to respond but he will.  He has no choice.  He could categorically deny the claim, citing Whyte’s court-established reliability, but to do that he’ll have to calculate that corroborating material will not emerge.  The wrong word now could torpedo hopes of a successful share issue next month

A bombastic statement from well-polished PR people is what’s needed.  I hope we’re not disappointed.

“I brought Charles Green in to buy Rangers”.  Kaboom!

Sky news bar just now….Hearts face sanctions for late payment of players. Maybe if they just told ND they were insolvent he would tell them it’s ok then?

  2. Whyte confirmed what we already knew, the main players are all linked, and familiar to each other. The Hustle.

is the haircut to distract people from looking at his bug eyes

  6. only reason I can see for Whyte to come forward is that he’s been stiffed for cash by Green/Murray or both. he also mentions his anger at being portrayed as the man responsible for the whole debacle so clearly he’s just wanting to get hi

Cheers I have just watched it back and I think I picked him up wrong ,I heard the interview on bbc sportsound and thought he had said him/guy.

Anyone got a download of the radio version .

  8. Well well well…

The Whyte Knight returns, cheap suit on, hair cut by the council, and firing googly stares at anyone within a 50 metre radius.

Seriously, what are we to make of this? Spivs falling out? Part of the most elaborate con since The Sting? Or, as us Marines say, a monumental clusterf***?

Seems to me Craigy Bhoy has put serious questions to everyone: Green. The SPL. Murray. And dear old D&P. What he said tonight would appear to contradict major parts of each of these parties’ stories.

There is a goldmine of unanswered questions out there right now. Who, in our glorious MSM, will follow up the BBC’s lead?

  9. tommytwiststommyturns on

hen1rik @ 20:04 – correct, but it should be a full public enquiry as £100M of taxpayers money is involved.

  10. And Alex Salmond still refuses to diclose what he said to HMRC even refusing a FOI request.

  11. How long will it be until the orc hive-mind collectively decides WE are to blame for EVERYTHING yet again?

They need to invest in a big mirror……the upside being is that one look and it’d shatter their twisted illusions & delusions……they’d never cope.

Did CW just tell everyone that whilst ragers were 10 pts ahead in the SPL in Oct ,he informed the SPL that they were bust and the SPL made a deal with him .In fact it was a positive meeting in his words .

Did ragers fc receive 2.9m for 2nd place prize money from the SPL last season when the SPL knew from Oct that he was financing the club with tax payers money

Whyte is scared. You don’t spill if you’re on solid ground.

He knows what is coming and doesn’t want to be the patsy.

Green says Whyte claims “misleading” .That’s as weak a rebuttal imaginable. Why not say it’s “a lie, complete nonsense ,no truth whatsoever”

  15. I see Craigy has confirmed that Salmond agreed to lobby HMRC on RFC’s behalf (in his radio interview).

All Celtic’s fault as usual. With beliefs like this, its nae wonder they are deid! From FF, but you probably guess that after reading it… rammers.

    Re: Craig Whyte speaks out!!!

This is simply the latest in the arsenal of weapons to extinguish RFC. Nothing less, nothing more. Herr Liewell is employing every National Socialist technique

available, barring outright violence and warfare, to ethnically cleanse Rangers from the Schottish table of life.

The positive and fantastic response by our fans through all of this has sickened the enemy into drastic measures. They have clearly financed Alex Thompson with a large bank account, paid by Liewell and green-lighted by Reid, likely bankrolled by Desmond and legally drawn by Riley and Harper McLeod.

Whyte is a perfect Trojan horse. He was an easy fall guy for Murray and is now likely under the dark hand of the Liewell storm trooper brigade.

When CW said he was telling the spl that ragers were bust ,were they not top of the league and if so were the spl willing to let them trade insolvently to win the SPL at the expense of Celtic?

  21. Once A Bhoy..... on

By rights there should be a few threats of legal action against CW following tonight’s scattergun attack! Then again anyone who happened to be mentioned in mtg minutes and/or left an e mail trail will be less likely to do so. An interesting few days ahead!

  22. Forget the non payment of Taxes, although that is a criminal act. The biggest story here, some would say arguably but I have maintained is THE story…The SPL knew. They knew in October they were bust and indicated to our hero they (Topping, Doncaster et al) did not want to lose them (oldco) from the SPL. An absolutely damning indictement.

I no longer campaign for Ogilvie to be ousted. I campaign vociferously for the ousting of Topping, Doncaster, Regan, Ogilvie et al. If one knew they all knew.

    Get them out, now!!

The three main impressions I get are that:

1/ Charlie boy is not long for Glasgow.

2/ Ticketus did not take a £27m hit by being conned by Whyte.

3/ Walter will reappear in some form.

Maybe as a Michels-Cruyff-Guardiola-style “total football” coach????

I think CW was always the patsy, but things have taken a twist that he isn’t in control of.

There are many facets to this charade, who is pulling who’s strings, it will be down to the internet bampots to find out as ever, the MSM will ask nothing.

I would doubt the real truth will out, too many in high places involved.

Just my opinion mind, but if there are casualties, they will be low level, the real players will be well protected.

  26. Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo on

    Have not read back.

Haning just seen the whole Craig Whyte interview I am left applauding Media House.

Todays Craig Whytes offering has all their hallnarks

    1. Chris Mc Laughlin NOT Mark Daly

    2. No mention of the SFA or SFL it is all the SPLs fault

    3. David Murray is entirely innocent of any wrong doing.

    4. Alex Salmond tried his best for Rangers but that part of the interview is badly edited. So it is not the full interview. Now why would their be editing at that.juncture of the interview ?

I reckon the FTT decision is known by Murray and this is his reaction to it. It is designed to make him look better. Dismiss entirely Murrays links with Grier. As in MIH recommended Ticketus but not Murray. Only a Sevco fan will believe that.

By bringing out the big bad bogey man Craig Whyte it bolsters Greens position with the hun hordes. Gives him the chance to fan their flames of desire for keeping their club alive. Emotional blackmail on an industrial scale but only with huns.

It has Moonbeams hallmarks all over it.

Is lord Hodge in Sir David Murrays back pocket ?

  27. Whyte had all but disappeared , why would he draw attention to himself

Unless he is telling the truth and is fed up with taking the derry by himself
