If this is the acceptable standard, SFA are welcome to it

Our man on the inside, Charlie Green, seems to have upset a few people over the weekend.  Charlie was playing to the gallery with his “bigotry” comment; it is not credible that the 35 clubs who voted against providing Sevco access to an elevated league are demographic significantly different from those of Rangers (1872/3).  Although, there is a good chance that each of those 35 clubs will have a more mixed profile than the former club.

Green is still fending off interest from people with far greater pull with the Rangers (1872/3) support than he has (genuinely hope he succeeds here).  He needs to sell tens of thousands of tickets to prevent his new club slipping into the hands of one of the other consortiums still trying to buy a piece of the action.  I always caution Celtic from playing to the gallery, it delivers short term populism but is surely the alternative to a strategic plan. I am sure several clubs will express their alarm at these comments to the SFA.

Unfortunately, since the SFA failed to take action on either of Ally McCoist’s earlier inflammatory outbursts so they can expect more of the same from Green and others.

Attempts are being made to convince thousands of people a bigoted bogeyman has been out to get them.  99% of the target population will do no more than complain loudly but it’s the unpredictable >1% who exist in every community we should be concerned about.

To the best of my knowledge no Scottish club has ever accused others of bigotry, not even during ‘that’ 80 year period.  If this is the new acceptable standard, the SFA are welcome to it, but it will be better for all if we go elsewhere to play our football.  Our game has been potent for a century but it has now become dangerously unstable.

Let us go now, before this is whipped up any more.  Anyone wanting to hold Scottish football together in its current form has a lot of explaining to do.

Murdoch, Connelly, Jinky, Hood, Hay and McGrain – what an absolute pleasure it was growing up.

However, Henrik stood with us when lesser mortals could have easily headed for the bright lights and international stardom, and showed the world what we already know.

God bless you Henrik for giving us the best years of you life.

You are immortal, and the best player this Teuchter has ever seen.

  3. Proudbhoy, the game kicks off at 19:45 our time, which means it’ll be 2:45am you’re (Perth) time, if you’re really keen to watch it then all you have to do is type the two teams into google 1 min before KO and you can watch it.

Cheers vmhan but we have no wireless internet in our apartment . Use one of them dongle things so chances of decent stream are very slim.

Yeah so far our winter has been pretty decent to us , no complaints from me.

  13. Morning,

I feel like packing my bags and leaving Scotland right now. Whistleblower…

The SFA’s independent judicial panel will consider any explanation from Green for his outburst — and it has been stressed that, if he provides evidence to support his claims, they will classify him as a ‘whistleblower’ and launch an investigation. Failure to provide an adequate response, however, will lead to an official censure for Green — and a scale of punishments, including another fine for Rangers, who have yet to be granted their full SFA licence.

  14. Longmuir brings the Huns down to earth with a bump. lol!

But Longmuir, who travelled to Brechin for Rangers’ first outing in the Ramsdens Cup on Sunday, believes that the newco club could take even longer than the minimum three years to play their way back to the top.

Addressing reconstruction claims, he said: ‘I would find that difficult to foresee under present circumstances. ‘And I think they could be with us a lot longer than three years, judging by what I saw at Brechin.’

  15. tomtheleedstim on

ASonofDan – I don’t read it like that mate. Unless I am being incredibly naive (won’t rule it out either) I see that as the SFA calling his bluff.

If he has the evidence he has nothing to fear.

Anyone know if tomorrow is sold out? Thinking of making a last minute trip.

Reading TopCorner @01:26, Mixu’s got us sussed.

Kris Commons’ injury could prove fatal to our chances. I’m ever hopeful he’ll recover in time, but it doesn’t look good. Without him, not only are Celtic deprived of one of their best players, but our options shrink dramatically in terms of formations. No one else can be trusted to play the No.10 role, meaning 4-4-2 and no plan B.

  22. SKY will sign the new deal on Friday AFTER Sevco are given their full License.

C’mon everybody, pick up the phone and cancel that Sky Sports.

  23. up_over_goal

If everything depends on Commons, how come we managed to overturn a 15 point deficit and win the League without him?

So Celtic will get turned over by a struggling Finnish team if Commons dies not play?

Might as well not go then and cancel the season ticket…

  24. Starry!

    How’s the valley?

I’d like to keep ’em all! Exciting times, so many of Celtic’s team can only improve as players.

I still dream of seeing Paddy grace the Champions League with one or two of his specials…

What did the blog achieve ?

Did it break new ground ?

Will it prove to be the first or the last of its kind ?

Well, looking at the achievements could take some time. There were many and they were varied. However I think the key thing that the blog achieved was to build a platform which made it impossible that the Rangers misdemeanours could be quietly dealt with by way of a back room deal.

Anyone who has watched the actions of the authorities and particularly the tabloid media, can be in any doubt that is what would have happened.Neither of these parties had anything other than a vested interest in preserving Rangers in the SPL. The crimes were being watered down, and the guilt was being mitigated.

It must give Traynor, King, Jackson , Young and their like the dry boak every time they think of this site. They were bested by a group who only wanted the truth to be old, and for justice to be done.

It says a lot about our tabloid media , that wanted either truth or justice.

Has the blog broken new ground. Undoubtedly. Let me breach a confidence, I think I will be forgiven. RTC said to me if it wasn’t for CQN, there would have been no Rangers Tax Case. However brilliant as CQN is , it has been unable to do what RTC did in one crucial regard.

Rangers Tax Case was the catalyst, in fact the reason, why fans of all clubs came together. That is a work of genius and truly groundbreaking.

Finally, not only will RTC prove not to be the last of its kind, by it’s very success that is impossible. The path has been lit, the way has signposted. When you are faced with a great wrong in sport, people with a common cause can come together, and will come together again.

The story isn’t over, and singling out anyone would be wrong. With one very obvious exception.

    RTC we all owe you.

I’m a huge fan of Kris Commons but he only turned up last season after the league was won so wouldn’t go overboard if he’s missing tomorrow though obviously hope he’s not.

I’m a big fan of the Padster but I feel this year is make or break for him and I think for Europe we need as many players as possible who can keep the ball and pass it, football being a simple game of giving and receiving passes, I’m sure Neil has a good idea of what he wants to build into this team.

  29. Had a quick gander at FF last night. Incredibly, they are falling for all this guff from Green.

Couple of weeks ago, Green publicly stated that the failure of the CVA would mean liquidation, which would mean the loss of RFC history forever. How quickly that line was dropped!

Clearly someone has had a word to him about his new “customers” and all of a sudden he is like Jock Wallace on steroids. As a result FF is crammed with admiring posts, praising his and McCoist’s bluster.

Meanwhile, they still don’t know who actually owns this new club; they still don’t know who owns Ibrox; they have no idea what this guy’s business plan is; nor is there any sign of the £30 million he promised by, erm, close of play today…

After all the moonbeams from Murray, the nonsense from Whyte, you would think some of them might stop to say “Hey, is this guy taking us for a ride?” You would think there would be at least some intelligent, non-pond-life-dwelling bears who might question what exactly this guy’s game is?

Instead, high on the fumes of his “No surrender” rhetoric, and with Ally’s dog-whistles ringing in their ears, they are hailing him as their new hero.

Truly, they are the most stupid and gullible supporters in world football, and they absolutely deserve all the **** that is still to engulf them.
