If you should meet Luis Enrique in Glasgow this week

488

Should Lionel Messi’s illness, which kept him out of Saturday’s clash with Malaga, prevent him boarding a plane to Glasgow tomorrow, Brendan Rodgers will take some grain of comfort.  The Argentine was the principle actor in the destruction of Celtic at the Camp Nou two months ago.
Since then Celtic have more than earned the Champions League credit which has come their way.  Meritocratic draws against Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach have given the club two points more than some observers predicted for them when the group stage was drawn in August.

Without Messi, Barcelona remain a potent force, but arguably the greatest player to ever kick a ball changes the dimension of the challenge enormously.  While it’s likely a few days rest would be enough for Messi to push himself, if necessary, manager Luis Enrique may be inclined not to take chances with his star asset ahead of a huge week for the Catalans.

After Celtic they are away to Real Sociedad, who are only four points behind in La Liga, while the following weekend they have the chance to close the four point gap at the top when Real Madrid visit.

So if you meet Luis around town this week, tell him he’d be better to rest Leo for the important La Liga clashes.

  3. Sorry I can’t post links on here due to using a borrowed Tablet .

If someone can post the band Texas singing live with the fantastic Sharleen Spiteri singing ” suspicious minds” when dressed up as Elvis.

It is some performance by a very talented girl.

Another wee suggestion for those who have never seen it, but I like the comedy “Frasier”, it’s so well acted and scripted .

If you get the chance to see the episode where his hapless brother Niles is trying to iron his clothes when alone in the apartment, ( without any dialogue) it is sheer comedy genius !

  4. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Big Jimmy, Frasier is the only spin off which was on a par or better than the show it evolved from.

Very intelligent writing, great cast and acting.

Celtic defender Kevin Tierney up before SFA beaks after tirade against Rangers

    22.11.2016

    By Gary Ralphston

The Scottish Football Association compliance officer will assess critical comments made by Celtic defender Kiernan Tierney about Rangers

Last month newspapers quoted Tierney stating that Celtic considered Aberdeen more of a title threat than Rangers

The Celtic Youngster tweeted unprovoked, “To be honest I reckon Aberdeen will be our nearest challengers this year”

Compliance officer Tony McGlennan is likely to consider whether the comments bring the Scottish game into disrepute

“The continual harassment of Rangers by Celtic players on social media has to be curtailed ” an SFA spokesman intimated.

“Players need to accept their responsibilities and stay above the fray.”

“This perpetual goading has to stop and cannot be permitted any longer.”

“Sensible comments instead of highly inflammatory statements no matter how subtle should always be adhered too”

“The SFA disciplinary committee have a punishing schedule and will not be able to schedule a hearing for Tierney until the end of January 2017”

A four match suspension could be reduced to three upon appeal

There was a plant in Bonnybridge that was the subject of much suspicion years ago and was at the centre of a claim by a local farmer.

Thankfully its no longer there but in its heyday its massive chimney could be seen from miles around spewing who knows what into the atmosphere.

Good Morning Bhoys from a dry sunny Central Scotland.Well another draw for the Hearts last night suits the Rangers it is strange the amount of goals Hearts are leaking I reckon a new manager might be coming along in the not to distant future as for me Hearts are under performing and I can see no signs of progress. I’ve got a book of the scripts from Frasier. First-class read, and a first-class programme.

I can’t recall how they got “that” scene over in print. I’ll have a look later.

I was a huge fan of Cheers-still am-but if I’m pushed,Frasier just edges it. Though the sarcasm in Cheers is tough to beat…

I’ll try to find that clip. Meantime, glass is empty.

It’s disappointing in a way that Aberdeen and Hearts have both had poor starts to the season. It doesn’t matter to us, since neither of them pose a serious threat to Celtic, but it has definitely helped to flatter Sevco.

  21. JJs blog this morning rapier like in its reporting of the Hun AGM.These couple of paragraphs had me grinning.

However I would argue that the actual rationale for the ‘conclave of the catamites‘ was to massage the reportage of the rogue board’s second AGM. Any inquiries about King’s promised investment of his children’s inheritance should be redirected to the source- the anal canal of a cow- but this won’t do for Traynor’s dancing bears.

There will be a blanket ban on the Barton Brouhaha and how Kranjcar and Rossiter’s legs would not be out of place in a Lowry painting.
