The stats tell an enticing story, Milan have played thirteen competitive games since beating Celtic and won only two, but you can forget about them right now. Celtic are good enough to take three points tomorrow but it will require a perfect match plan if they are to do so.
This fixture will hold no fears for Celtic, who have been over similar ground many times before, but they face players vastly more experienced at playing the intensity of football which will be on display tomorrow evening. If we are to get anything from the game, we will have to subvert a team who will enjoy the majority of possession and territorial advantage, with impeccable defending and expert finishing.
We got it spectacularly wrong against Italian opposition last season, who were considerably weaker than the Spanish opponents who left Celtic Park empty handed, overwhelmingly as a consequence of diverging from the game plan which left Barcelona scrambling for a consolation goal. This is football at a remarkably unforgiving level, as Juventus let us know; you’re not in the SPFL now, Dorothy.
Did you get to speak to the CQN Girls handing out Annuals at the Superstore on Saturday? We’ve got budget to bring them along for one last time ahead of the Milan game tomorrow. See the video below for a glimpse of what we were up to on Saturday and thanks to everyone who has bought an Annual!

oldtim67 – cheers, will look out for you (if you’re still there at that point, i.e. around 3.15-3.30)
bournesouprecipe – finally ordered one of those great big coats of yours. Not in time for tomorrow night, unfortunately.

Were you a Benedict, Pius or Laurence bhoy?
For those involved in the ole predictions competition remember to get the scores on the doors for tomorrow night’s games asap.
The money donated to the bucket collection on Saturday will be announced tomorrow
heres hoping there still counting it
We need to be realistic about tomorrow night -we are playing a team filled with international class players who play against much better domestic opposition week in week out!
Ajax were a pretty limited team IMHO -filled with potential perhaps but ACM have far more finished articles playing for them.
To get a result we will have to work our socks off AND carry a bit of luck
Being old school I say win the midfield and then win the game
That means BK, CM and JL central with pace on one side with JF if fit and KC on the other
If JF not fit then DB
For me that means GS up top with a free role
Back four – ML EF VVD EI
Need to learn lesson of Amsterdam and play guys who are 100% fit -no room for passengers
Work hard -close them down and hit on the break
HH
Clashcitybhoy – 20:16
Thanks
Win lose or draw tomorrow, I hope we give a good account of ourselves, which is something we didn’t do in Amsterdam.
Perhaps it was something to do with two of our key players Sammi and KC playing while clearly unfit.
Whatever the reason we need to restore some pride and respectability after that disappointing display.
I’m sure Lenny will remind the team that these opportunities don’t come along too often in a players career.
Che, or Sanna, could you put up a link to the Kano shop again
Thanks
Help please.
The Asterisk Years is available from Amazon only in the Kindle version. I see that Lulu (?) sells paperback. Does anyone know how reliable they are or where else to get a paperback version?
Thanks in advance.
BTW, the Sean Fallon book is outstanding – get your family to treat you to it for Christmas.
He has just put another £5m on his transfer.
Celtic should have a ‘B’ side playing in the SPFL, or – at least – in the new Lowland League.
The under 20s play in a competitive national league and cup competition, but the development squad play endless meaningless ‘friendlies’ which do little or nothing for the ‘development’ of the players.
HH!!
Googybhoy, Shane Long free to talk to interested parties in January, and free at end of this season :-) would do for me

Disgraceful.

Apologies for an inaccuracy in my post @ 20:10,
Should have checked with wiki before posting, in business my dug, if I had one would not be an entity…
“In business, an entity is a person, department, team, corporation, cooperative, partnership, or other group with whom it is possible to conduct business. The purpose of these entities is to (1) maximize tax strategies (2) create liability protection (3) ensure asset protection (4) keep wealth accelerating through multiple streams of revenue (5) optimize opportunities.

Don’t disagree, but if we want a u23 / a Reserve side, then we need someone to play, and realistically that won’t happen under Scotland’s soccernomics.
In the last 18 months, our development squad looks a lot less active.
Whilst those games weren’t competitive, I suspect the fact we were playing opposition from down south,
Maybe we should try and hook up with some of the Northern English based clubs and formalise our arrangement. Whilst it may be difficult to walk into the EPL, I suspect joining the leagues their Reserves play in would be much easier.

It is a no brainier. He would be star at Celtic.
yesterday it was noted that 2 former Celtic centre halfs were managing teams playing each other, tonight we have 2 former Buddies doing the same thing. Wonder if dung has noticed this. Naw I don’t think so, he’s as much a St Mirren fan as I am a Dumbarton one, i.e. local team which we went to see when we couldn’t watch our favourites.
Delaneys Dunky
Benedicts. Fr Tobin, Fr Fitzsimmons and most of all Fr Joseph Kearns. He used to go to all the games without the dog collar.
First time I saw him in the Jungle I said: “Hello father!” He said: “Just call me Wee Joe here.”
Great man.
What did Jamie Carrraghghghaarrr just say? :))
Jamie “loooooooccchhh” Carragher on now…
Just off the Glasgow to London City flight, Kenny Miller sitting in front of me. Clearly didn’t fancy being in Glasgow to see two top European sides battle it out, or for that matter heading up to Gayfield to watch his favour former football club. Following on from the Mo Jo/ Judas debate last week what’s the CQN verdict on Miller?
I remember really wanting him to be a success for us, in part based on the effort he put in and also how he celebrated when he did finally score. But it never really worked for him and he want back to kissing inferior badges.

Aye, I agree. I see our development structure as very good up to the point of fruition, then it falls off the end of a cliff.
We’ve got a great structure up to under-19 then, when the under-19s win everything, they get disbanded. No progression.
I know the Huns stymied the Scottish reserve league for their own reasons but maybe it is time to reinstate it, now that they are dead and PL is on the SFA board?

I took to Miller, the way I did to Alfie. Loved them both in the Hoops.
Blantyretim.
I’ll have to go to Argyll St Station at 1.00pm, remember the guy we met in Barcelona,I’ll have to meet him and bring him to the pub,I don’t think he’s familiar with Glasgow.

I would not have considered Miller in the way I especially reserve for Judas.
Miller was a wholehearted player in the hoops , a trier, who was at times very effective.
Ironically , if I remember rightly , WGS didn’t want to sell him but the board told him to take the dosh ( £2.5m rings a bell) considering we got him from Wolves for heehaw.
Miller didn’t want to go either and remember reading him registering his disappointment despite going to the EPL with Derby.
The game against Deidco where Gravesson scored, he was immense, all over the place!
That will do for me!
