Ignore vulnerable Milan nonsense

742

The stats tell an enticing story, Milan have played thirteen competitive games since beating Celtic and won only two, but you can forget about them right now.  Celtic are good enough to take three points tomorrow but it will require a perfect match plan if they are to do so.

This fixture will hold no fears for Celtic, who have been over similar ground many times before, but they face players vastly more experienced at playing the intensity of football which will be on display tomorrow evening.  If we are to get anything from the game, we will have to subvert a team who will enjoy the majority of possession and territorial advantage, with impeccable defending and expert finishing.

We got it spectacularly wrong against Italian opposition last season, who were considerably weaker than the Spanish opponents who left Celtic Park empty handed, overwhelmingly as a consequence of diverging from the game plan which left Barcelona scrambling for a consolation goal. This is football at a remarkably unforgiving level, as Juventus let us know; you’re not in the SPFL now, Dorothy.

Did you get to speak to the CQN Girls handing out Annuals at the Superstore on Saturday?  We’ve got budget to bring them along for one last time ahead of the Milan game tomorrow.  See the video below for a glimpse of what we were up to on Saturday and thanks to everyone who has bought an Annual!

  6. It’s a funny old world —

The man arrested re holding 3 women captive in South London was the leader of a mid 70s political group called -The Workers Institute of Marxism -Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought..

A man who asked that Mao send the Red Army to London to liberate working people .

Much ridiculed in The Times Diary /Private Eye of the time .Many have claimed that the man in question is where John Sullivan got the idea for Citizen Smith

Well, I know someone has just pointed out that Neil Lennon is not too keen on fielding youngsters, but I don’t think he so youngist that he’s going to pick Old Tim to play tomorrow.

    (No offence, Old Tim)

Couldn’t agree more. He’s got the talent to be what Scotland never seems to produce – a real “Number 10” type player. He’s got vision, can pick a pass straight away and execute it with perfect weight. Chips in with a few goals too.

  9. Dontbrattbakkinanger on

Cadizzy -ole Old Tim is not incapable of playin’ the ‘false number nine’.

    My Team for tomorrow:

    Fraser Forster

    Lustig/ VVD/Ambrose/Izaguirre

    Forrest/Ledley/Commons/Kayal/Samaras

Scotland used to produce players like that in abundance a long time ago (not necessarily No.10’s but players with those skills. I blame decimilisation……and Thatcher, obviously

1st of March is a strong possibility due to THE BARCA MOLE coming over.

Canny confine him to Swindon,he has done nothing wrong.

I was obviously bad in a previous life.

    As well.

  13. Paul, great points made about AC Milan. They obviously are not a form team at the moment but they do have the ability to get results when it matters.

No matter what our friends in the media write or report we have a huge task in front of us if we are to get anything from this game. No doubt if we do it will be due to a poor AC Milan team!

On Ryan Gauld although a wee guy and someone you wouldn’t buy a secon hand yo-yo from, he,I think, would be worth signing. What I’ve seen of him he looks pacey over a short distance and the quality of his passing suggests he has a very good football brain. Just the type of player i want to see in the hoops however, as I don’t know enough about our young guys maybe we have someone similar. Others may know if we do

  14. Cadizzy.

Are you up for the Game tomorrow.

This could be the make or break game of the season,We must have a great chance of winning tomorrow.

I think I could handle a game at nr 9 tomorrow,if they want me to play catch me now, after The game at the Camp Neu, I’ll be effed for a year after climbing those stair to the Gods..

unfortunately not. In front of the TV, I’m afraid (with the sofa in between me and it).

Enjoy your day out and let’s hope your evening even more so.

  16. I haven’t seen enough of young Gauld, but it would appear that he is a talented boy,but I have seen Patick Thistle and they are truly an awful team,so I wouldn’t base my judgement on Saturdays game, and PT were down to 9 men.Lets see Biton,Rogic and a few of our young players given an extended run first before we spend money on another midfield player.Give us a striker.

  17. corkcelt- SUPPORTING THE DAM 5 on

Naw Som mes, A Barca win is what I want for 2 reasons. (A) If Ajax were to draw with Barca and say draw their last game with Milan they would have 6 pts. If we beat Milan and lose to Barca we would have 6 as well. Their away goal would put them ahead of us. (B) I hate Ajax and their f***ing fans and their f***ing City after the way they treated our bhoys. If they were never to win another football game in their lives that would be fine with me.
