Illusive focus should return to Celtic

287

Highlights from Easter Road on Saturday suggest Hibs are very much in the hunt for second place.  Aberdeen have the experience to finish Best of the Rest, but it is disappointing performances like that against Hibs which have given Celtic carte blanche to experiment with the squad so regularly in the league this season.

While Brendan Rodgers will only have thoughts for Zenit right now, Derek McInnes will be planning how to deploy against Celtic on Sunday.  The Aberdeen manager has tried and failed many times to get the better of Celtic in recent seasons, which is not the inhibitor it might seem to be.  He knows what does not work and what not to try.  This week’s discussion matter at Pittodrie will be whether Aberdeen can do what half the teams in the league have already done and take points from Celtic.

As far as the Champions are concerned, stacking big games back-to-back will bring out the best in them.  An away game at St Petersburg before heading marginally south to Aberdeen will bring a focus to the club which has been elusive recently.

Floating : Condolences on the loss of your Mother. RIP.

Will light a candle for her over the weekend .

  2. I know the brits is for the kiddies but being forced to watch, anyway apart from the dire music the only reason I wouldn’t mind being there is the crazy amount of drink on the table. That Irn bru ad is a bit risqué. The Brits is full of cant’s

  3. Hope there are no Huns watching the Man Utd game, Steve McManaman in commentary just wished us good luck tomorrow.

BP … maybe we’ll compromise, and I’ll get him his own jersey to wear… there was a zombie in my neighbourhood who commented one day on my jersey, so I made sure that Derry wore hers when we walked past his place!

Mick has a wife, and two young kids ( Louis 6 and Florence nearly a big 4), and needs our help to get him and his family through this difficult time. His good friend is NavanBhoy who played a big part with a team of Irish bhoys in the WeeOscar4life cycle from Glasgow to Belfast, as well as supporting the cause throughout.

Thanks so much for getting behind this appeal I will be joining the pledge too as CRC has done, the email will be with you soon.

I spoke to Mick briefly by video call this morning (while pretending to work!!) and it was brilliant to be able to speak to him for a short time at least. he was happy that he got to see his kids last weekend for the first time since the accident while obviously frustrated that he is still in hospital and away from caroline and the kids but he is genuinely happy to be alive.

After the usual chat about all things Celtic especially the zenit result, he asked me to pass on his immense thanks to everyone who has helped out so far. He and Caroline are totally humbled and in awe of the support they are receiving from both ends of the planet.

To all those who are willing to help out in any way at all however small, Thank you and Hail Hail

  16. Floatin, sorry for your loss. I will remember her in prayer at Mass tomorrow morning. May she rest in peace and may you find consolation and hope in the days ahead. You will never walk alone, your mother will always be with you.

In the passing, can I just say that when I was younger I always wanted to christen our dog “Shite” just for the sheer fun of having my father call the dog outside, and even more so to watch my mother take the damn thing for a walk on occasion.

Shite the dog would have been legendary around the west end especially in the 60’s and 70’s.

Anyway, There is nothing like some oul bum crooner doing something to odd with a jazz band.

When we got our dog from the rescue centre he was called Buckie.

Imagine going round Bishopbriggs or Springburn park shouting “has anyone seen my Buckie?”

His name was changed by deed poll to Max.

That Celtic entity died five years after it was born.

It became a limited liability company at the AGM in 1893.

Brother Walfrid, Dr John Conway & others who had championed the charitable tables either left or were forced out.

I was always very grateful that Fergus brought some charitable sanity back to the club – amongst many other benefits.

BIG PACKY on 21ST FEBRUARY 2018 10:51 PM

I don’t know what they were called before, when I first heard them they were SAHB.

But I remember seeing them in our place when they backed up The Who and blew them off the stage, 75 or 76?

    What a performance that was.

  26. Jazz? Went to jazz festival at the fruitmarket ( I think) many moons ago.

Some band on stage and some ‘cat’ on Sax doing a mental routine but quietly.

    Mate Brian can’t wait till he finishes (in a loud voice);

“Right, 3 lager, 2 heavy and a voddy and coke!”

Howls of angst from the patrons.

    We left shortly thereafter.

  27. Saw Alex Harvey in the Glasgow Apollo a week or so before he died in Amsterdam. Must have been two or three hundred in the house – asked everyone to come down to the front by the stage – sad

  28. Sincere condolences to floatin’ and family. May you take solace from your friends here.

For MIT and the doggy folk – as a youth, a chipper (not a café ) was where we hung out.

Liam Brady ruled the roost. So when I got my one and only dog I combined those elements and called him Chippy.

It was the only way you could express pure love at that age.

    Outside of the Celtic.

    Hail Hail.
