CELTIC stumbled rather than sauntered out of the decade with a suprisingly inept peformance as they lost 2-1 to Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox outfit.

There can be no excuses, either, for a defeat that cost the eight-in-a-row champions their 100 per cent unbeaten domestic record at Parkhead.

It was an afternoon to forget as Ryan Christie missed his second consecutive penalty-kick after also having one saved at Ross County earlier in the campaign, although he did follow up to slam in the rebound. There was no such luck on this occasion as Allan McGregor dived low to his left to push the ball clear.

Christopher Jullien was denied twice by midfielder Steven Davis who cleared headers off the goal-line.

Odsonne Edouard was credited with the team’s goal when he deflected a shot from Callum McGregor into the net to make it 1-1 at the interval.

However, the defence’s infuriating inability to deal with set-plays cost them dearly when the visitors scored from a left-wing corner-kick with Nikola Katic outjumping Kristoffer Ajer to bullet an effort past the stranded Fraser Forster.

At the end, three points were lost and Alfredo Morelos made another early departure – his SEVENTH in his Ibrox career – after a lamentable dive in stoppage-time as he attempted to con referee Kevin Clancy into awarding a penalty-kick.

It was just one of those crazy days in the east end of Glasgow.

CQN‘s ace lensmen were there to capture the best of the action. Here is the pick of the pics.
