Inner Record culture disrobed, signing up to the Celtic rulebook

891

In many places it would be practically inconceivable that someone could be employed in this position:

capture-20170119-220102
And get away with running rubbish like this on a back page cover:

capture-20170119-220127
But then you see more and get a picture of the organisation involved:

capture-20170119-220204
The Record have been caught displaying their inner culture and will no doubt be forced into a remedial action, but getting caught was just misfortune. The culture exists and has informed articles for years.  They have gone too far down this road to even begin to understand what they’ve done to a once-strong demographic.

An echo reached me from 2012 today, which illuminated yesterday’s article. As the SPL debated serious issues in 2012, a consensus emerged on what subsequently took place. There were hold-outs to the new majority, however.

One director of a club near Glasgow (no guesses, now) made his position clear: “I’m not signing up to any f****** Celtic rulebook.”

The comment met with incredulity, as the Celtic rulebook wasn’t part of the conversation. Fans and clubs across the country came to the same conclusion about how our game should proceed.  It was no more the Celtic rulebook than the Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs rulebook, but prejudices occasionally seep out when people don’t get what they want.

This is what we’re up against. They are still out there, writing articles for the paying public, or voting on the future of our game.

As for the Celtic rulebook, I’ve seen it. It contains one page and only three words: “Pay your bills.” That doesn’t sound like much but remarkably, it may deliver 20-in-a-row. I hope others don’t start to copy us.

Now BRTH – what’s the chances of organising a group of Celtic Fans tickets for the Portuguese Cup final ? Looking at semi finals all games start at 9 pm, so would expect their cup final to kick off around same time ? I cant find this.

We should be invited as guests celebrating the 50th anniversary in the Heat of Lisbon :-))

Hopefully watch the Bhoys win a treble in the afternoon, then onto Estadio Nacional to continue our wee few days ooot

Motherwell players have no balls. That’s why they play for Motherwell. Big Mick at fault.

Wonder who the Huns will get their home draw/ fund raiser against tomorrow. Since reforming as Sevco they’ve had no difficult away draw and approx 80% of draws at home. Funny that.

We’ll get Hearts away. We do most years.

  5. Liverpool are a defensive shambles.

Klopp’s attacking play leaves them exposed.

The fact that no one takes charge in the defensive zone does not help.

Felt a lot of our defensive frailty the last few seasons was a lack of leadership in that area.

Jozo ,Eric and Kolo have all changed that.

    So what?

This strengthens Celtic in the Long Run.

Sevco in Europe will be the true barometer of Sevco in the Europa League earliest of qualifiers – I will be betting the opponent for sure, hopefully with high odds.

Perhaps it is sinking in now that…….

  7. The home draw is vital for sevco.

Theres a marked difference in their winning percentage at home v away.

The cash is also needed for survival.

The huns at Hampden will duly oblige.

  8. Frustrated as hell about Motherwell inability to close that out today.

The new co have won a fair few late wins at Ibrox this year. I hate them getting any kind of bounce. Out of the cup at first game really appealed to me.

That said they had a very strong backing in numbers at least again today for a cup game in January. Way more supporters than we would have for similar I imagine. Their fanbase is holding up in adversity. That is for sure.
