Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! We continue our campaigning focus on the crisis in Scottish football from recent weeks as well as delivering many great articles on Celtic.
You can get a glimpse of the magazine below but go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below). Nip to page 64 for my favourite article this month, comparing the age of the current Celtic team to some of our great teams from the past. It’s an eye opener.
A special word of thanks to Alex Thomson of Channel 4 News, who this morning got Uefa to confirm: “We are in contact with the Scottish FA and offering assistance”.
We have tons to talk about in the next couple of days, Brian Kennedy, Sailen Manna – don’t let me forget to talk about Sailen, Athletic (one of the most important cup ties in years?), Kenny Shiels (don’t underestimate this guy) and we have a Cup Final to look forward to! Struggling to fit it in but we’ll try.
We are now shipping hard copies of the magazine from the UK – and sold out last month (unlike Rangers tickets last week). Order your copy by clicking on the link below. If you want a copy shipped overseas (note, seas, not sees) email me, celticquicknews@gmail.com (for Britain and Ireland please use the link below).
Pay by card or Paypal – We don’t do clowns!
You can support the online edition by making a discretionary donation here. Thanks to James, Bart, Bobby and David, all of whom are probably still asleep, and everyone who contributed.

Heard Donald congratulating Keevins and co on their professionalism the way the handle the calls this week. I take it didnt hear shugg telling a caller to SHUT UP AND LISTEN and the condesending way he spoke to John ( regular caller) tonight? Oh and Donald wants Celtic fans to stop pelting ragers. Enuff is enuff says Donald.

I see the posters on the Rangers forums are salivating at the thought of “the Americans” coming in to save them. After all, look at all big-moneyed American sport franchise owners who have dallied in the EPL:
–John Henry: Boston Red Sox / Liverpool
–Glazier family: Tampa Bay Buccaneers / Manchester United
–Randy Lerner: Cleveland Browns / Aston Villa
–Stan Kroenke: St. Louis Rams / Arsenal
All these moneyed Americans already owned sports franchises that are household names across America before splashing their excess cash abroad. Someone like that would do nicely for the Gers, so the Bears have been telling themselves. And now they’ve got one interested enough to make a (tentative) bid.
So what franchise does Club 9 Sports own? The New York Yankees? The Pittsburgh Steelers? The Los Angeles Lakers? Sorry, no. The correct answer: the Quad City Mallards.
In case you didn’t already know, the Mallards play ice hockey in the Central Hockey League, one of six minor professional hockey leagues operating in North America. Prior to Club 9 Sports taking over the Mallards last year, the team’s home games averaged an attendance of 2,812. With just a little over a week left to the current season, they are now sitting in 5th place in a seven-team conference.
Not exactly “Motherwell born billionaire” class, but if Craig Whyte’s one pound purchase price is anything to go by, if they put up a tenner, they’ll likely be the top bidder.
PS: Extra bonus points for anyone who can name any of the four cities that comprise the “Quad Cities.” I’m a Yank and even I can’t do it.

not in the quiz so just musing..
like all Celtic fans you sometimes think back to your early memories of going to see the mighty ‘tic.
When I think back there is always something constant – stopping at ‘Off the Record’, while my dad went in to catch up with his mates (obviously finding out in later years that some of them were liquid). Our deal was that he would put the secret policeman’s ball on the tape player while he fed me juice and crisps at regular intervals in the car. The tape meant that I listened to some borderline language meaning no mention would be made to my mum of any stop-off – this blatant blackamil i have stored for later years and make no apology.
Anyway, I recall getting to the game in plenty of time. I guess it must have been around 2.15 as the ground was empty and there were no players on the park – even the crazed grass stabber with the fork hadn’t made an appearance. With Parkhead starting to fill I can still remember a sweet smell and specific music. To this day when I smell that waft from a pipe or hear that music I find myself back in Paradise as an 8 year old boy.
So with grand self-indulgence I place a link to the music that was either over played in those days or somehow felt like it….enjoy the music and the weekend bhoys..

Yes. It is already very clear that Rangers breached SFA rules- regardless of what the FTT says. That part is a no brainer and that point cannot be laboured enough.

A Sacred place indeed, Sad times (Mother and Fathers Funeral breakfasts) happy times, Nephew and Nieces Childrens Baptisms and First Holy Communion Celabrations, and of course some right good nights with Andy Dewar and other fine cabaret artists, remember Andy Cameron many years ago looking up at the crucifix and saying, is that what they did to the last act that was on in here

The games up Bhoys , STV news just said that the survival of the tax dodgers is looking more likely .
We must have been dreaming all this tax dodging / second contracts stuff , how silly of us .
It must be true , it was on the telly .
God they must think we’re all as thick as the Hun support.
Today I visited Bothwell park cemetery to lay flowers at my dads grave, Its11 years to the day since he passed away. I kept him updated him on his grand children & great grand children and on the shennanigans over at ipox.
As I stood there in the rain my mind drifted back 11 years and I remembered thinking how we were going to get through the days ahead without him, How would life go on I just wanted the world to stop, being the eldest son I had to start to arrange things for my mum.
I thought I would never smile again, who or what would help us as a family start to go on. Before the weekend was over this had happened.

What a day that was I dont think I have ever had as many emotions in one day the tears I shed along with cheers and the knowledge that we were on the verge of great times with the HOOPS eased my pain.
My da got laid to rest with his fags, Hoops Scarf & the clippings out the papers. The hurt was still immense but the road to going on had openedup.
Today I thought of the similarities between 2001 & today and the start of Neil Francis Lennons trophy haul for us.
2001 ended up a good year for our family & the Celtic family. I hope NFL gets the treble again this year if anyone deserves it its him.
I dont have the words of some posters on here but the good thing is im not expected to. What Im trying to say ( i think)is no matter how dark it seems at times in your life Celtic & the Celtic family will ALWAYS help you get back on the road again.
Good night Timland & God bless Neil lennon

totally agree……the whole thing is now verging on the clinically insane.
any other self-respecting business would’ve thrown in the towel by now & gone back to basics and restructured, with the knowledge of lessons learned,in a better way. No…we have to have this endless drip feed of moronic banality.
Initially it was stunning, but that lot have zero humility or remorse.
Only more psychotic ravings & dark mutterings.
Now they, and the whole pathetic cabal surrounding them, have become tatty and boring.
That is the last I am going to say about them. I await their final curtain.
